I bought this great tv about a month ago, and there was a hole in the box on the left hand side, like it had caught a corner. Associates said it was no big deal so I took it home and installed it. Excellent product, but the screen is developing discoloration where the box was perforated. Kinda sucks.

Purchased this item initially on sale ... Was fine with the price for the item... Got home and my son in law went to mount the tv onto a wall bracket and noted a crack on the side of the tv... Initially thought it was the plastic sheath covering ... After assessing it further realized it was cracked on the side as well as the screen... Returned it the next day without a problem... Got a 2nd tv same model... Son in law mounted and turned on the tv... Picture was not as crisp and bright as I expected... Watch tv for a couple hours then lines appeared on the screen... Totally dissatisfied !!!! Returned tv for full refund... Staff was great... Still haven't brought another TV... Nothing was wrong with my original ... Just wanted to treat myself to a new one... But I won't buy this one or recommend to any one else...

The price was fair, the screen quality is fantastic, no glitches or issues so far. The TV can play a decent number of video/audio formats if a drive is plugged into it. Only con is there's no buttons on the tv itself, only on the remote.

Delayed buying a new TV for too long. When my dinosaur TV died, I had to buy a replacement, partly due to fearing my having to set it up. No problem for the technology challenged.

My husband wanted only a television and a comfortable chair to watch it in. After having a horrible experience at a neighborhood pawn shop I decided to look into a tv with a warranty. The tv works great, my husband is happy, mission accomplished.

Just basic TV. It doesn't see usb source. Only at plug-in time.

We were not looking to spend a lot of money on a new tv. My son accidentally threw his playstation controller through the screen of our old one while bowling. I was happy that the best buy employee advised me they sold extra product protection for these types of purchases!

Salesperson was great. Showed me upscale TVs and offered intelligent explanations without being pushy. Sound from TV is about as good as it gets for just using TV audio, but like most people, I connect to an audio amp & better speakers.

I got the Samsung TV off the shelf, a great buy. Since it did not have a remote I could not get it out of "STORE MODE". I have a floating logo on the screen now. had to go buy a remote from the maker of the TV.

Best Buy has great select open-box items. The select TVs they have are in great condition and offer warranty. They have all kinds of TVs from small to big. If you’re looking for a new TV go and take a look around.

This is my third Samsung TV over the past 10 years (the other two are still being used). No complaints about this tv, except that it makes some popping noises after you turn it off. Other than that, it's a good tv.

TV works well, but was disappointed to find that it had limited accessory ports and I had to choose from my older CD player and my VHS player to connect to the new TV. I used both as my grandchildren still like the old VHS movies as well as the newer CD/Blueray movies.

Plug and Play, real easy to convert to a smart TV, which is what I did, display, streaming everything is just awesome, walked into a store and bought an open box items @discounted price. very happy with the price / performance

We really like the picture quality. Negatives would be glare from light sources and the sound needs to be turned way up for recorded programs. I mean like almost all the way up. That is our biggest complaint.

Greatif you dont really have the hook ups on a surround. Picture wise its not bad. But needs more of pixels and some adjustments on the remote and screen fittings. Cause some of the pictures are condensed.

I have always been a fan of the quality of Samsung products and I was not disappointed with this television. I already own a 55 inch smart television from Samsung which functions flawlessly and it was a no brainer that I was going to "stick to what I know."

All the negative reviews were. It's not a smart tv. I didn't want a smart tv I already have chromecast and firetv. The other was sound. Maybe I'm not picky but the sounds fine. This is a great tv for the price.

I decided to upgrade from a 32" 720p TV. My internet and system cannot handle 4K content so I just wanted a decent affordable 1080p TV. I selected the 48" Samsung J5000 based on reviews and sale prices. The first unit I got had a backlight problem where one corner of the screen had a large bright spot when it was supposed to be all black. Looking on Google, this seems like a common issue with LED TVs, so I almost gave up and returned it. But, I tried an exchange for a new unit, and I'm glad that I did. The replacement has no problems at all and looks perfect. This TV looks great with my local digital stations and my Windows 10 media PC. I only adjusted the factory settings a little to suit my liking, mainly turning down the backlight and contrast, which came maxed out. Setting the HDMI input's label to "PC" in the menu changed the menu options a bit and gave me the best image for my PC. There is a sports mode and a gaming mode, but I don't watch sports or game, so your mileage may vary. I think the upscaling on this display looks great. My 720p content looks almost as good as 1080p, and even 480p looks pretty good. I even played an old VHS tape and it looked OK. I do have one DVD that looks pretty bad, but I think that DVD must just have poor quality encoding. Other than that, the screen is bright, has great color, and looks good day or night. The sound seems good enough to me for a TV but I do use external surround sound. Negatives for me: The glossy screen coating does reflect a lot of light, depending where I am sitting and where the light is coming from. And the TV tuner is not picking up one of my local digital channels that my last TV had no problem picking up, so I'm not sure what is up with that. And, this screen is only 60Hz, and I think I do see some motion blur in fast action scenes. I might look for 120Hz or better if that is a concern. Overall, I'm happy with the Samsung J5000.

This tv is all that I wanted! I just graduated up from a 36' and this one jumped right out at me! The salesman was very nice and helped take it out to my car for me. That is Best Buy customer service!

I purchased this television on sale and it does the job .. My only gripe with it is the sound. For the size, it's a bit weak, but it was expected. I plan on buying a sound bar immediately for it, but overall, it was a good purchase.
