This tv is alright if you watch Youtube and ourchasing tv for sound and picture quality only. It, however, does not have all new apps which you can get by buying Roku or something similar. It does not have HBO now which I wanted to buy it for. I should have done my homework.

The picture quality is terrible - clarity sucks, and I have HD service on my cable plan so it should be stellar. Makes me regret giving away my 9-year-old unit to make room for this one, it was old and cr@ppy, but put this picture to shame. It's going back to the store.

    Great pre-Black Friday deal

I woke up to an email from Best Buy advertising pre-Black Friday deals. We just moved into a new house and needed more TVs for the patio and man cave. After looking at other prices, I purchased this TV on BestBuy.com for in-store pickup. I got to Best Buy at 9:45am not realizing they didn't open until 10am. I was the first person in line at the Store Pickup counter, and they had the TV already waiting for me. I hooked the TV up to cable, and was pleasantly surprised that it was WiFi ready because I didn't have a network cable in the room the TV was going into. Great picture and sound - that's all I really needed. Other reviews state that the TV doesn't have composite inputs, but all I needed was an HDMI input, which this TV has 2 of. I also have no problems streaming Netflix or Amazon Prime Video via my 75Mbps WiFi. I may purchase another one one now for the other room.

I brought the TV at best buy and was having it installed by the Geek Squad at buy. That when the Geek Squad found out the TV did not work. It kept on turning off on on not fully starting up. Geek Squad advised me to to take it back ... it was a lemon! !!!

    Excellent as always from Samsung

My family have always purchased Samsung TV's in recent years as no other brands provide the same viewing experience. We got this TV for the master bedroom to watch netflix, play xbox and watch videos via the USB connection. Netflix works flawlessly via wi-fi at 1080p. And it plays all sorts of different movie formats from my external hard drive. The picture is superb. For the price of $380 for a 48" smart TV you will find nothing better, amazing deal!

Don't waste your time ording online an open box TV. Missing OEM packing TV was broken then delved, then the manager acted like it wasy fail. All the store done wan slap a label on the outside of box and sent it on its way. I just wanted a working TV and the wanted me to pay full price because it was on sale when I ordered it and it was open box. I understand if I wanted a refund not getting more then I paid. But when it was best buy fault I feel they would have made it right..... I don't know if the TV was good or not.

Stand did not come with screws to hold the stand so TV is up against the wall as of now. Will need to make it to a hardware store when I get a chance to pick some up.

    Fantastic Black Friday Deal

    Posted .

Saw this TV as a Black Friday deal on Thursday 11-20 for $379.99. There were no reviews and little information on the difference between this model and the UN48J5200 model. I went ahead and purchased it and went to the store the next day. The friendly salesperson said that the only significant difference between the two models was a slightly slower wifi processor speed. That this particular model was specially built for the Black Friday sale and that I got a great deal. He said that streaming might be an issue but that I had until January to return the TV if it didn't work out. I have the UN32J5500 and use it to stream Netflix without issues so I figured I'd give this one a try. Set up was very easy but there was some 'background' set up that I wasn't aware of. None of my streaming accounts worked very well during that set up, but an hour later, everything was working just fine. Picture is fantastic, sound quality good. We're very pleased with this purchase!

Weird giant stand and seemed to be tilted forward. Only 2 HDMIs, no component or composite. Think it was a bare bones Black Friday model.

Very bare bones entry level television

i bought this early black Friday special thinking I got a great deal. A 48" smart tv for $379.99 sounded amazing. Only after I received it did I realize that you really do get what you pay for. This tv is a special stripped down version made just for Black Friday. It is the newest tactic of manufacturers. Take a model, in this case the 5200. Take away some features and then lower the price giving the appearance of big savings. The 5200 can be had for 429.99 and this was sold for 379.99. At the same time this has very less inputs and from another reviewer a supposedly slower processor. The description and pictures were wrong. They used the 5200 pictures. This has no analog inputs. You have two hdmi ports as well as a USB port. That's it. It's a mixed bag. The picture quality is solid as well as sound. But the lack of inputs is handicapping. The performance of the smart hub is also sluggish. It's a fair tv. But it is not the big bargain I first thought it was.
