    Since the advent of HDTV, I have bought in excess of 36 TVs, for home, vacation home, office, parents, girlfriend, gifts, etc. Brought the BB Toshiba 55" home and it had a buzz from fan or sound board. So today I bought this Samsung instead. $10 or less per diagonal inch has been my benchmark for dumb HDTVS. So under $400 for 48" Smart, Internet, 1080p and Samsung quality, a steal! Decent sound, familiar remote, great picture. Don't need a higher scan rate, nomvideo games here and football? There are too many replays, you don't miss a thing at 60hz.

    Great Overall Value for a Smart TV

    There are a few things that could be better with this unit, but for a smart tv under $400 I still consider this a really good value. The image is pretty clean and sharp. For me the biggest drawback is the lack of variety of channels in the app store. I guess I just expected more from a smart tv, but this being my first I didn't know any better. The apps store is flooded with a bunch of mid-eastern and indian themed channels that I don't particularly care for. In the demo and on the box you see apps that are completely unavailable to download, for example TedTalks....when I contacted Samsung about it they said that they just use generic apps for advertising. I found this to be misleading. I was convinced that my TV was erroneously set to the wrong region and had Samsung remotely check out my TV, but nope everything is the way it's supposed to be. So in conclusion, aside from not much use for the Smart function of this unit, I still think its a great value for the image quality, size and at least for Netflix/Hulu/YouTube built in to it.

    Flickering happens after one year

    This sucks! I bought this tv in end of November 2015 and it's December 2016 and our TV stop working. It couldn't turn off, and just keep flashing and flickering light. I should of got the extended warranty but figured I'm sure this tv will last way more than a year. NOT! Going to see if I can fix it, wish me luck.

    I purchased this tv 3 weeks ago and it stopped working. It will not turn on at all. I had to unmount it from the wall and return it to Best Buy. I retuned it in store and was treated badly and had to speak to a manager to return it. A replacement has been ordered and I’m hoping the second one will work.

    Youtube app cannot connect to phone

    Whenever the phone tries to connect to the tv it fails, if you pair the device to it it will work for a while bit once its disconnected you'll have to pair it again. Wifi connection is not working with the tv. Best buy refused to exchange the tv because i went there 16 days after purchase only !

    First day on, was glitching like crazy! After 2 or 3 hours it would stop but imagine to get home right before your favorite show and you can't watch it before you let the tv 'warm up' for a while -_- I gave it 5 days until I finally returned it. W

    Had tv for two days. And it stop working. Would not turn on .took it back to store. They could not figure it out. So they gave me credit to new tv. I got LG 4k. Best buy hooked it up. Thanks for keeping customer support services alive.

    Cheaply made terrible out of the box I have another Samsung tv I love it I have a Samsung soundbar and it's awesome but this tv was prob refurbished from broken parts I bought this tv at lunch time I returned it before dinner

    After I hooked up my cable and the screen is really grainy. This TV has BAD picture quality... everything else is fine but there is No HD... I thought I was watching old Tube TV... I would not recommend it!

    I bought this TV to place in a family room knowing it was an entry level model with limited connections available but a smart tv. So far we have not been disappointed. The picture is fantastic and the smart hub works flawlessly! The tv speakers as many have written are only so-so but I have yet to see a tv with great sound unless you use a sound bar or surround system. For the price of $379 you cannot beat this 48" TV !!

    This TV has great picture quality, lightweight and easy to set up. I had to replace a large plasma and this TV was the answer. It has Smart capability and compatible with surround sound. Cannot beat the price!

    Bought this TV over black friday and turned it on today (11/29/2015) to find that smart hub does not work. Tried several things I found on the internet (like changing DNS server to 8.8.8.8) and nothing worked. Finally called samsung service center and they mentioned that this is their problem and engineers are working to fix this issue. They asked me to try again in 24 hours. Some more searches lead me to this website: http://downdetector.com/status/smart-hub Looks like this is a worldwide problem. I would have rated this 1 star, but because I am hoping that Samsung will fix this issue, I gave it 2 stars. Ofcourse, I blew my whole morning on this problem and spent 45 mins on hold for a samsung representative. Sound and picture quality is decent. And I also purchased a UN40J5200 and it also has the same issue. So, I wonder how some people got their smart hubs working!
