Screening the video from the mobile to TV is very very slow, it tests your patience, and the picture quality is not at all good.

Easy Set-Up, Good Deal, Speakers are Meh

Purchased the Black Friday Deal and am happy with the TV. Easy Set-up of the TV and using it to stream content has been fine. As seems to be common with these TVs, the speakers aren't great, but a soundbar helped that out. No Analog AV, just Audio, but that is all that was claimed in the description.

    Good for basic usage

    - The picture is wrong, the TV does NOT have a composite port, only 2 HDMI ports and one USB port. If you have an old game console, you will need to get a converter/adaptor. Since this is not Samsung's fault, I didn't rate it below 5 stars. This is a very basic Samsung Smart TV with unbeatable black Friday price ($379.99). It has a USB port, so you can connect an HD Drive and it can read and play back most of the images/videos. Some videos use codecs that all Samsung TVs can't play. It has two HDMI ports and I have mainly bought it for the kids to play XBox 360 games and it worked perfectly. Our Xbox has an HDMI port so the composite ports missing is not a big deal for us. It has mirroring functionality so I can display images from my galaxy cell phone directly on the TV. It also connects to wired and wireless networks so if you have a network drive, it can read images/videos from there. it also connects to the internet but I would using a laptop. It has V-Chip which is very important, I can block programs based on the ratings and for $10 antenna, the kids can watch pbs kids programs for free.

Just set it up today and the HD channels look very clear and fantastic! The non HD channels are a little pixilated but that's to be expected for non HD. The web browser is kind of slow but it works and it isn't a computer. I have only used the YouTube app and it worked great. I was able to use my wireless mouse to make the web browsing easier.

48 Inch Smart TV prefect for Price Tag

I have been looking for Smart TV that would do the job for me.. I wouldn't resist this one because of Price Tag. When i decided to purchase this i still know some of its drawbacks 2 HDMI ports 1 USB only 60HZ - i have not seen much of impacts. I dont view sports channel a lot. new drawback came to know after use . Smart hub loads / responds slowly. i need to have TV on for some time, before it lets me use netflix etc.. I use IP streaming for TV viewing.. so far netflix, hbo on go and starz work seemlessly. i have so far not have ability to use mobile app remotes.. probably J series does not support it.. (Need to confirm though). currently using traditional remote is annoying. Youtube share DLNA, mobile screenshare.. everything works great.. my PS3 games work cool.. i am not very picky on depth, constrast etc.. for layman.. it seem pretty decent buy for price range.

Good budget set for a cord-cutter

From one of the Q&A: "...it takes 1.30 mins to load the Samsung hub apps like Netflix, amazon video, etc after switch on tv..." There has to be something in the operation system that makes it try to load an update or make some other server round trips. When we connected it to the i-net for the first time (Xfinity, 110 Mbps) widgets from the Smart Hub loaded in about 3 sec. We immediately reconfigured it NOT to automatically update itself (still ver. 1027), but after only three days widgets are loading in about a minute. It takes 5 -7 sec to load Smart Hub interface and 50 more seconds to load any widget. I assume this could also be a memory cashing issue of some sort, but not exactly sure. We were able to side load some very useful widgets like Fork Player (OTT Player was already there) which give you endless iPTV options + you can stream from your DLNA server to the phone and screen share it to TV. All and all, we decided to keep the TV despite some start-up issues and 60Hz refresh rate. Got it for $280, not bad at all.

Like one other reviewer said, the tv will give you a message saying "TV is setting up" and will lag. At first I didn't know what was going on and was a bit frustrated. However, after I understood what was happening I just waited and everything fell into place. This tv has a beautiful picture and works well. My experience with Samsung products has been exceptional. I would have given this a 5 had Samsung explained the set up time and let people know they need to wait for that to complete before everything worked as it should.

Got this for a black Friday deal. Has great picture but it would be great if you could control the volume/ change the channel etc with buttons on the TV. If you lose the remote you are screwed. But good TV for the price. Smart TV functions are convenient too.

    Love This TV!

I purchased a 32" of the same model initially and loved it, but it was too small for the wall space I had mounted it on, so I upgraded it to the 48". The picture is great, the sound is not bad and it looks nice. Super easy to set up on a wifi network and connect to all the streaming goodness! Overall I am very happy with this TV!

    Great TV, but...

Excellent picture quality, easy to connect and get going. But there is a strong hot plastic smell... only been connected 1 1/2 days. Don't know if it is because of being new. Emailed customer service but no answer yet... Also, even though the picture online showed there were rca type jacks on the back, there were none on my tv...had to buy an adapter to connect my dvd player. Otherwise like all functions of tv except using remote to interact with internet, I have ordered a wireless keyboard... will let you know how it works.
