However, the screen dims automatically making the background and faces very dark. The "sports" setting which makes the picture bright and colorful will not stay on. There are several hole caps on the back of the TV which pop off by themselves.

Thank you for your review of the Samsung UN49KS8000 Smart 4K SUHD TV.
If your TV is dimming sporadically, you may need to disable some of the energy efficiency features. Go to Home > Settings > System > Eco Solution > Energy Saving Mode.
You can also go to Home > Settings > System > Eco Solution > Eco Sensor.
Lastly, you can try adjusting Motion Lighting by going to Home > Settings > System > Eco Solution > Motion Lighting

Great TV with audio issue

Both pictures seemed comparable, this one is a bit brighter and the Vizo has better black levels probably because it is not as bright. My calibrated rear projection IMO has a better picture.
