    The Samsung 49" 7000 series has a very good picture for the price class. Set-up was extremely easy and fast (see later, it could be an issue). I am replacing an LG Tv that developed a fatal internal board problem. So, I did not want another LG. Sound quality is remarkably good for the TV speakers. I am happy with the sound for most ordinary viewing. I use an A/V stereo system for about half of my watching. It has good apps, but I don't use them. I chose to direct my system through a good A/V stereo (Sony) that has good apps. It makes better sense to play Pandora and other apps that way. It did have a confusing problem early. After a good set-up, I found that somehow the remote was over-riding my stereo. I was careful to not direct the remote to operate other devices, but it did. It was turning my stereo on. It was also nullifying the listening apps, like Tunein and Pandora on the stereo, and converting the stereo to TV/antenna when I attempted to use it. I called Best Buy. They sent me to The Geek Squad. It took over 30 minutes for the person just to finish identifying me as a purchaser. They then said that they could not help me on the phone and that my only choice was to schedule a service person in a few days. Well, that stinks. Really. So, I called Samsung. The lady helped me. But she had to disable the remote interactivity with other devices. I don't like dialing functions to make a new item work, but it had to happen. So, Best Buy needs to fix it's support. Samsung needs to fix its remote system which can over ride some other devices. I might just return it for that issue. I need confidence in the equipment and the support. I did not get that from my interaction.

    This replaces a 2015 Samsung product I purchased earlier this year. The picture is excellent. No problems with streaming. Only strange thing is remote, which is dark and slick. But I'm getting the hang of it.

    I returned the nightmare that was a Vizio TV requiring set-up involving "SmartCast" and purchased this television instead. I am very happy right now - the picture is amazing and unlike my Vizio purchase, I have not had to spend a frustrating afternoon on the phone with technical support.

    The TV has a wonderful picture, easy to operate with the remote. However, I waited too long before mounting it on the wall. The Issue is the length of the Cable Connect feature Samsung has devised. While they may have good intentions with this design, they have only provide one option regarding the cable length: The one that comes with the TV. You can not buy another length of cable. So be careful if you mounting the TV on the wall and the location you have the cable connect box. I called Samsung parts for a longer cable. They do not make one. Therefore, the low rating. Buy a Sony,.

    Setup was very easy, picture is great, especially with my OTA channels in HD. Easily recognized my Dish receiver and my computer. Smart TV apps work well even with my less than ideal Internet speed. I am very happy with this purchase after the first week.

    VERY FREQUENTLY loses connection to the internet. Infuriating. I resort to using a roku stick, which defeats the purpose of having a smart tv. Picture is good. Speakers aren't, but that's to be expected, so no concerns there.

    Major ARC firmware bug Samsung refuses to fix

    This TV is mostly very nice. Unfortunately, there is a major firmware bug that has existed in some form since at least April 2016. If you are trying to use a soundbar or other similar audio device using the HDMI ARC, the TV WILL NOT remember your sound settings when you power it off. It will always flip the sound back to the TV speakers. This means you have to set the sound back to your receiver/sound bar every. single. time. you turn on the TV. I didn't return mine since I already have a Harmony remote that allows a work around. If you go with this TV and you want to use a soundbar through HDMI, be prepared to change your sound settings every time you power on your TV. If you don't believe me, do a Google search for "ARC Sound settings keeps resetting to TV Speakers" and check out the 25 pages worth of complaints on the Samsung community forum. Samsung ignores all of this or claims it's working as designed. I'd definitely spend a bit extra and go for quality over this TV. I'm never buying Samsung again after this unfortunate experience.
