Great 4k/HDR TV for features and quality

I bought this on sale so the price to value ratio is great for a 4k with HDR support. The picture is beautiful! The upscaling does an excellent job for 1080 signal and is very good with 720 signals also. Great sound for the built-in speakers. I don’t need to increase the volume level like the TV this one replaced. The remote supports voice which works within the movie apps (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc.) and it’s pretty accurate. The refresh rate is a native 60Hz, so fast action (sports, special fx) are good but not great quality, even with the Motion 120. The OS is relatively smooth, much better than Samsung TVs in the recent past, and could use better organization. But overall this TV is great, especially one with a 49” screen.

The picture is excellent. The design is sleek and stylish. It was easy to set up and learn to use. It has a lot of great features and apps but it is strange that you cannot get Sling Tv app on it. I tried using the chromecast but the image was not clear. Then used an hdmi and the picture is perfect but it is annoying to not be able to use the remote and search for shows. Really wish I knew this before I bought it. I might have gone with the Sony instead since it does have sling available

    Great TV and monitor!

Ok my first reason to get this was as a monitor. I didn't want to just get a second monitor on my desk and I also wanted 4K as well. The prices on 4k monitors for a 27" was from 450-750. This wasn't much bigger then my 24" monitor to begin with. Now before all the hardcore gamers speak of refresh rates on true gaming monitors I hear you and agree. IF you are going to play AAA games and are looking for ultra high frame rates then get the spendy 4k monitor. But if your a casual gamer or consoler, and want to split your desktop in to 4x24" workspace like me then this is it! You will need at least a 4gb graphics card. I have a 4 gb 1050 and it runs awesome. Note: Turn off all video processing on the TV! Use just game mode and shut off all other enhancement options for the PC input. Check youtube for more info. Now to the other aspects. The smart hub is really fast! The remote learned all my other devices right away. The picture looks great! HDR, I didn't like at first and it depends on the content. Some NF content was just shot cheaply in the first place and like 1080 tv's playing 480 content it will really bring out the lower quality picture or bad lighting. But get good content and wow! NF has marvel's Dr Strange out at the time of this review, and say what you will about the movie it really shows what this TV can do with just streaming! I will be getting a true 4k Blu-ray player when they drop in price and see the true potential of this TV. Standard Blu-ray 1080 looks amazing. So to wrap this up, I did a ton of research on this before I bought it and this was the best 4k HDR TV that I could find that had all the bases covered for me and was still a major player. This is a great mid level tv with out spending like 1000+.

Picture quality and refresh rate are great. The set up was unbelievably easy. Smart apps are a good variety, though more could be added like CBS and AMC. Pairing with Samsung speaker was almost effortless. Remote is sleek and intuitive.

This TV is awesome. If you are on the fence about buying this, do it! I recently purchased a Sony TV that is the same size, and about $140.00 cheaper. I didn't expect this TV to be so much better than the Sony. The Sony is a great TV, but this thing is light years ahead. The picture is way better, the sound is way better, and this TV actually is smart. The thing runs very fast on apps, even faster than my XBOX One. It is smart because all you have to do is plug in your devices, XBOX, etc, and it automatically recognizes the device and labels it so it is a breeze to switch inputs. It also will automatically power on those devices, and the remote automatically switches over to use that device, without even having to program it to do so. Samsung nailed it with this TV. I would definitely recommend this TV.

...this is probably a review you should read. First, I feel that it’s important for me to say that before buying this television, I had not even shopped for a TV for 14 years...Yeah, don’t laugh. My previous set was a 52inch Zenith DLP...Stop laughing. Honestly, I loved that TV. It stood the test of time even though it topped out at 1080i...Come on, I asked you not to laugh. All jokes aside, I think this review is useful to a number of people. Because, while I am a techie, I also TRY to buy for the “future”. I like my tech to be able to last. I say all this to say, that while I REALLY like this TV, I am not sure it will “last”. As I searched and searched for a TV, it became obvious that TV tech is COMPLICATED these days. TVs can claim 4K HDR, but not have the “chip” inside that makes it able to accept TRUE HDR content from a 4K Blu-Ray player or PS4 or XBOX (this set does NOT have that type of chip). I also came to learn that it will be necessary for you to buy new HDMI cables, as well, to connect your devices. And if you want to connect via ethernet (which I recommend, providing your router is nearby), a CAT 7 ethernet cable is suggested (Amazon has best deals on all cables). I also learned that true HDR and accurate “black” technology can help dark scenes in your media viewing. The best way to tell the difference here is between commercials...the BEST TVs with go completely black as if shut off. Other TVs will get dark but still look lit. Things like this make it hard to accrately rate a TV for a consumer like me...Because with so much to learn and do to get the TV running at full potential, its only through the test of time that one can really rate it. However, in view of the fact that all people upgrading from HD to 4K HDR face the same challenges, I can rate this TV based on what I have experienced so far. I REALLY like the picture. Its very bright as Samsungs are know to be. Its construction and design seem to be on par with competitors, but in my opinion, most TVs are not made to withstand much these days. I have mine on a stand and I recommend that. A couple of reviews out there said this set has a housing too flimsy to wall mount. And, a part of me could see that being the case. It set up very easily and its smart features work well, although I would like more custom controls. On that note, what I don’t like is its sound. It seems though, that poor sound is common in TV set today...companies are pushing soundbars and home theaters instead. To complete the experience I bought a soundbar system, too. (Got and reviewed a VIZIO SB3621N-E8M...Samsung, LG soundbars sounded TERRIBLE!) Lastly, the TV comes with a crazy looking bluetooth connected remote. Hated this thing at first. In fact the first stopped working and wouldn’t re-pair. To Samsungs credit, they set me another. Same thing happened to that one but the second Samsung tech taught me how to hard reset the remote pairing (which is nowhere to be found in manual or online) and its been great since. One last thing to add...I have adjusted to this size. At first set up, it seemed too small. I’d say if you had a 50 in TV spend a little more and go up a size...going down will take some adjusting. Hope this helps the average consumer out there

I first bought the 43 inch version of this TV without high dynamic range. I immediately loved all of the features, however that TV ended up having a sound defect and I traded it for this one. It was about $100 more because it does have high dynamic range, but I figured I would give it a try. I am so glad that I did! I can see a very big difference between the two. I cannot say I was wowed by the picture quality of the 43 inch without HDR, but I am very wowed by the picture quality of this one! The high dynamic range really makes a difference! Aside from the excellent picture, the sound is just as good. I like that there are several sound options. It is a very user-friendly television, the apps are easy to find and use. I love that there is a full web browser. I can go to the website of a local house concert venue and watch their livestream without having to hook up my computer! So far I have only used the web browser, Netflix and YouTube but they all work great! The set up was very easy. It found my cable and wireless router automatically and I believe I had it set up in five minutes or less. Just make sure you know all of your passwords. LOL. And I love the smart remote control! It doesn't have every functionality that my Spectrum remote has, so I still have to keep that one handy, but it is very easy to use once you figure out what everything does. It also fits very easily in your hand, much more so than my clunky Spectrum remote! I really can't think of any negatives for this TV. Definitely worth the extra money for the upgrade to high dynamic range!

This is a very nice 4K Smart TV at a very fair price. It's easy to use, has a great picture when viewing cable 1080p and tremendous in 4k. The remote takes some getting used to, but is very functional given it's minimalist style. And you can use your Samsung smartphone to control it too! The sound quality is very good, I do not find myself wanting for a soundbar in most situations. Great color, lots of setting to try, easy to use. Like it!

this is my first Samsung tv.. bought it for hdr and 4k... better than advertised in my opinion.. for sports its like you are there at the stadium, for console games it takes them to a whole new level.. easy to take out of the box put together and setup.. only con is it has a 400 by 400 vesa mount setup.. mine is 200 by 200 on my tv stand.. they should make an adapter plate or something and include if for those of us that might not have the 400 by 400. like I said the only bad thing about it.. awesome tv and a good purchase in my opinion

I have a small apartment, but this tv looks HUGE in my living room (in a good way). I got this to replace my broken Samsung Smart TV, but the updated home screen and all the apps are awesome! I love that I can press the home button while watching cable and it has an icon to resume a show I have been watching on Netflix right there! it makes switching from one thing to another super easy and quick. The quality of the TV is awesome too, I would 100% buy this again.

Love love love my new TV!! The picture is so clear, the HDR feature is great! Watching shows like Game of Thrones and even reality TV is amazing! You can see the clarity, the raw and naturalness of the show. Watching sports is pretty good as well, football is better than watching a regular NBA on ESPN 2 versus watching NBA on TNT. I recommend this TV to anyone, the actual TV speakers that are built in aren't too bad either, I prefer my soundbar, but that could be a bias thing. I am able to watch all of my Channel Apps on this TV using the Smart App feature which is super convenient, no need to purchase a Chromecast Ultra, just pay the additional fee to watch HDR Content on Netflix and other apps. Great Tv for a great price!!

I am thoroughly enjoying this TV. Easy set-up. Wonderful picture. From your cable box, use an HDMI cable vs. coaxial. It makes a noticeable difference. The remote is slick and easy to use in the dark. The sound was so-so, but I fixed that with a Samsung sound bar.

I bought this TV with a Black Friday sale price and I am glad I did. It has a great picture as well as having HDR. You can view it from many angles and the picture quality stays the same. The black colors are true and the other colors are crisp. If you want an excellent TV experience at a decent price, this is your TV.

When I bought this TV I was surprised at how well it looked. I really liked the price during the holidays. It’s my first experience with a HDR. We got the 49 inch for our bedroom. The colors are beautiful and bright. It looks like I’m looking through a window. I am very happy with it.

This is a great TV. I originally wanted to get the 55" Series 6, but for where my tv stand is located, the 49" would have had the same effect. So glad I went with this one because the image is a lot crisper, brighter, and well defined. It was really easy to setup and link all of my accounts for the Smart Apps. The sound is amazing. I haven't even had to turn my surround sound system on. Super happy with my purchase.

I was looking for a HDR/4K T.V. and this one was one of the more budget friendly models. Reviews indicated many impressed buyers but there was limited data on the HDR feature. I took a risk and must say I'm very happy with the purchase. Smart features are intuitive and easy to use. Remote is simple yet functional. The TV menu must be explored in order to utilize all the features - I spent two hours on YouTube and the internet trying to find how to turn my HDR features on before I took to exploring every menu item and finally finding what needed to be done. For the money, we've never bought a more stylish and quality T.V.

For the money this would be considered a Mid Tier Samsung TV. If you are looking to get a decent TV with great features and picture quality without breaking the bank look no farther than the 7000 series Samsung. With HDR and 4K picture quality it can easily connect to a Xbox One s and play 4K blu ray and play HDR games. easy and responsive smart hub.

Upgrading an old 1080i TV. I was looking for a 50" and this 4K HDR TV was the right size. Decided to get the high dynamic range and I am happy I did. HDR means better color whether the source in 1080p cable or 4K from netflix or you tube. The picture is easy to adjust. Sound is just okay. Would recommend a sound bar. I have ordered an Apple TV for wireless access to media stored on my mac. There is an app available for Windows computers. The smart hub is easy to use. Two clicks and Netflix is ready to go with 4K streaming.
