Bought this tv last December 2019, picture and audio quality was fine until it just died down on September 2021. It was plugged on a surge protector plug, but despite this, it suddenly just started flickering and the screen turned white. 2 year lifespan for a 500usd tv doesn't seem right.

      Doughnut,

There are several preset picture modes and many custom settings that can optimize image quality to your viewing scenario.
Go to HOME > SETTINGS > PICTURE > PICTURE MODE and choose:
      1) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments, like in retail stores
      2) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
      3) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
      4) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.

Here is a link to the downloadable eManual, where you can find a detailed guide to configuring advanced picture setting (pages 95-98):  http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201909/20190919132100565/MUSATSCR-4.0.0_EM_MUSE_USA_ENG-US_190731.0.pdf

In addition, the quality of the image on your screen depends on the source and the connection.
HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing; and when possible, 4K content will provide the best picture quality. The TV will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it. The closer the signal is to 4K, the better it will look coming out.

The quality of the streaming content depends largely on the speed of your internet, as most content providers have adaptive streaming that will automatically adjust the image quality based on the network bandwidth.

We had a 4.5 year old Vizio m502i-b1 50” tv go out. I was adding a new Soundbar and unplugged the tv and when I plugged it back in, it never powered back on, was very disappointed for not being very old. I began my search for a new tv around the same size since that’s about all we can fit for the family room area. This time of year there is tons of tvs and all sorts of prices. I narrowed my options to the Samsung brand due to good luck with our upstairs Samsung tv. I then started viewing 50” models, I almost settled on the 7100 series and seen the 8000 series for just a little more. I was gonna buy that until I seen the Q60 49” on display and the colors and vibrant picture set it apart from the lessor models. I compared the q60 to the q70 and decided the Q60 was good for my room and budget, q70 being another $200 more for 49” wasn’t necessary. I do know the local dimming might add better HDR performance, but any tv I’ve owned with local dimming, I didn’t use it, found it distracting, I prefer no added enhancements to the picture, set it to Movie and turn off all enhancements, and you are 90% without having it professionally calibrated. The q60 has a great picture when upscaling non 4K content, very clear, no picture noise. 4K picture is great too, very clear and realistic. HDR picture is good, but I know there is better out their with OLED or full array local dimming. The black levels are good, very even screen uniformity, good gray scale, no dark spots in the picture or backlighting blooming, or uneven backlighting. 4 hdmi inputs is plenty, the smart functions work great, love that it has airplay built in. I would buy this tv again, just in a bigger size if I could fit it.

      Dismay,

I am very sorry for the unfortunate situation with a crack having developed in your screen. Please know that a crack will not spontaneously develop; a physical impact – perhaps small, but done at just a certain degree – would be the most likely explanation.

No changes to the picture or performance, that is still fantastic. 2018 model (Q6FN) has bettet build quality. The feet stand used to be all metal now its plastic with cheap clip on snaps errrrr. Also the bezel!....its now plastic black and thick vs the awesome brushed thin aluminum of last year. They went cheap on the 2019 models for sure.

Lightning so happened to fry my TV and Xbox so it was time to upgrade. I did plenty of research and decided to get this tv on sale for 750. My friend also had one and told me to get it. It easily met and exceeded my expectations. The user interface is easily the best between LG, Sony & Samsung. If you get this TV & need an Xbox, GET THE XBOX ONE X!! The type of 4K graphics this tv can support along with 4K gaming is mind blowing!!!

Stopped working after 2 1/2 months

I purchased the 49inch LED Q60 series on 9/2/19. New condo so was not able to have installed until 12/31/19. Slightly more than 2 months later, it just stopped working. Samsung repair replaced power board. That lasted a month and stopped working again. Can't get Samsung to do anything. I spent hours on the phone each time, and with the most recent episode, they sent a ticket number over 2 weeks ago and have disappeared into a black hole. They respond to nothing, anywhere!!! On top of that, even after providing all the paperwork with receipts, they insist my 12 month warranty if up on 5/31. Which makes me believe that Best Buy sold me a preowned television that was likely returned because it didn't work. I have asked Samsung to reply regarding this, but truly they have become invisible. So I haven't had a TV to watch for about 3 weeks, and no sign that I ever shall and I am helpless to do anything about it. I have only owned Samsung TV's, but this is the last. I paid maximum, maximum price to Best Buy, watched for 2 plus months and then got another month. This is so so wrong.

    Awful software & screen burnout

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Screen started having burnout spots 2 months after purchasing, exiting apps while in use by itself after 6-7 months, and at 15 months apps do not work unless I update/reinstall them everyday OR multiple times a day. I've had it for 2 years now & it constantly disconnects from the wifi. I've researched & done everything to fix it. I factor reset it for awhile but now I'm fed up. Will never buy Samsung again!

Motion plus 120Hz is the joke due to weird smooth motion during movies or tv shows. Movie theaters don’t show like that.
