[Employee of bestbuy] Great monitor at the price if it worked full for me, ive had it for about 8-10 months now and ive had the issue diagnosed to the monitor somehow, this monitor is causing me issues when connecting it with the displayport, and wont run properly when connected, causing stuttering, crashing, blackscreens, and unexpected reboots. overall great panel and never had any issues before hand. :)

Took 3 tries to get one without flaws (first one had dead pixels, second o e had stuck pixels) But once i got a good one, its really quite amazing to play games on. Also great for working if you work from home

This monitor is incredible. Great for racing and FPS games (Call of Duty, Halo, etc.)

Purchased Feb 14 2025 and it arrived Feb 18 of 2025, worked fine on the 4 days of weekend i used it, then comes around next weekend it wouldn't even turn on, called best buy and they said their 14-15 day return policy was over and i was stuck calling samsung for a fix. if it even samsung honor their warranty. I would avoid any samsung 49" monitor and go with Asus or any other brand. and I would honestly not buy any other expensive product from best buy due to their worst return policy window.

WOW. The resolution is INSANE. Works with everything you need. Takes the place of 3 monitors in one. The size is way larger than expected. I didn't expect my desk to bow under the pressure and weight of the stand but it did. It's still standing but long term - going to have to get a much wider desk to comfortably fit this monitor. It's amazing. Works great for video editing, game play, advertisement development, and even movie night. The curvature takes some getting used to but it's not a big deal and you'll adapt quickly. It's truly one of a kind. Hated it at first, grew to love it more than all the countless connections of 2 and even 3 monitors.

I purchased this for my gaming needs and let me tell you it does everything I need the refresh rate is spot on. When I use it to browse the web it's like 3 monitors in one.

Excellent monitor! I use it for a little bit of everything, i.e. play games, software development, video editing, etc. The monitor is excellent for gaming, and very nice and clear for textual use (i.e. programming for me). What I didn't like initially was apps that would full screen if maximized, and most apps are not usable this way. To make it "behave" like two monitors, I purchased the pro version of "Display Fusion" (does a bunch of other things too), and now I can maximize to the left or right side of the monitor, and turn it off when playing games. Initially I thought the monitor was huge, but now that I'm used to it, I'm considering getting a second one and mounting above this one for a total of "4" virtual monitors (in place of the 2 - 27" monitors I have above this one). While programming, I almost always need to see 3 things at a time, and not having to flip between them is very nice. When I initially got the monitor, it got pretty warm, then I realized that there's a setting in the menu that sets the refresh at 240hz. Way overkill for day to day use. Since I've turned that off, the monitor barely warms up. The base is very nice, it's flat (some monitors have legs that spread out and get in your way), so you can put things on it. Also the height and tilt adjustment works well. Highly recommended if you have the space

Overall, this is a really solid ultrawide monitor. The 1000R curve is immersive and feels natural, especially for productivity and multitasking. Colors look great, performance is smooth, and it definitely feels like a step forward in terms of viewing experience. I’m coming from a Samsung 49" CRG model that I purchased back in 2019, and the Odyssey is a noticeable upgrade in curvature and overall presence on the desk. If you’re already used to a 49" ultrawide, the transition is easy and rewarding. That said, there’s one important downside to be aware of: the stock stand is very tall vertically. In my case, the monitor could not fit under my desk hutch because the stand pushes the display higher than expected. This wasn’t an issue with my older CRG, so it caught me off guard. If you have shelves, a hutch, or any overhead clearance limits, definitely measure carefully before buying. You may need a VESA mount or monitor arm to make it work in tighter setups.

This monitor is great. It has very good resoltuion and is bright. The curve doesnt work the best but is fine if your the only one watching the screen. This monitor also emits a lot of heat.

This is my second Samsung curved 49" monitor. This certainly is an upgrade to the first one that started getting retrace lines through it so bad I couldn't even use it anymore. This new one refreshes at a much faster rate although for what I do, it's undetectable. this monitor seems to have more of a tighter curve radius than the last one which is a good thing. Also the stand is much better than on the last one. The last one had to legs that basically parralleled the monitors profile on the desk, taking up room and getting in the way of being able to use the desk top. They have completely redesigned the stand to where it is now just a black steel plate, and although that doesn't sound attractive, it certainly is much better than the old style and a lot more functional.

Historically, I have operated with a multi-monitor setup, and with mixed success. Not only do I play games (racing sims, survival/crafting rpg's, fps's), I also work with large data sets as part of my job. When viewing spreadsheets or writing R/Python code, it is hand to have a larger, uninterrupted screen-viewing area. I went into BestBuy looking for an Ultrawide monitor, they didn't have the AMD FreeSync one in-store, but they honored the sale that was on at the time for the NVidia equivalent. So let's talk features: Color vividness: This is probably the most vibrant out-of-the-box monitor I've ever owned. The HDR10 and color depth is incredible. Refresh rate/smoothness/tearing: I use the AMD FreeSync technology with my AMD setup (5900X CPU, 6900 XT GPU), and I have never experienced blurring, tearing, or stuttering with this setup playing any of my games. Also, when I was running two monitors side-by-side, I constantly had issues with one display not coming on and I'd have to power cycle them, but that is solved with the single-display setup. Gaming quality: This monitor comes in really handy with the racing sims and fps games as it provides you with a really wide FOV. Also, the smoothness of the screen and the adaptability of the FreeSync technology makes for a good experience uninterrupted by glitches that jolt you out of gaming immersion. Space required and setup: this can be a challenge, and I'll be honest, this monitor takes up a lot of space as it is curved. It is also very heavy (it has to be to keep it stable), and the initial physical setup/assembly/unboxing, which I did solo, was challenging. Settings and features: This gives you a LOT of options, profiles, on-screen reticle (which comes in handy for games such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance where archery without the reticle is very difficult). Overall value: You can definitely shell out a ton of cash for larger monitors, but this was surprisingly affordable, and despite a friend of mine telling me that ultrawide monitors sometimes have game compatibility issues with older games, I have not experienced that as you can set the display resolution to place black bars on either side and render the game in its native res. Great value, 100% recommend.

I have had this monitor for about a month now. I use it more for work so I cannot speak to its gaming capabilities. I converted from a primary laptop monitor with a 27" second monitor. The screen space has improved my efficiency moving through documents and I am experiencing less head movement which was my goal. I got a great price and it is exceeding my expectations. Keep in mind that the device does not have internal speakers so take that into consideration when purchasing. I don't think that is an issue for the gamer.

All of my expectations were exceeded. Every game I have played on this monitor has been breathe taking. The only downside is a lot of games due not support a resolution this wide yet so even though you have the available screen space, many games will not be playable in a complete full screen. However, the ones that are supportive of the 5120 x 1440 screen ratio, will take your breathe away. Movies look phenomenal. The menu is easy to navigate and I mounted it on a third party articulating arm mount for an even better viewing experience. If you have the money for it and youre wondering whether or not its worth it, in my opinion, absolutely.

I had an OLED on my racing sim that was 1800R. I wanted 1000R but couldnt find it at a reasonable price so went with this monitor. I feared i would be disappointed dropping from OLED. Although colors arent as vibrant inam not disappointed. Nice monitor.
