Great monitor with great specs and very reliable and long term used.

First off, I wanna state I am a massive gamer with a decent job, when I spend any sort of big money I wanna see absolutely everything I’m getting out of it and when I saw this product was 400$ off and it’s not for any huge reason I waited NO time and I do not regret a single cent… I had a slight inconvenience finding out it has no built in sound

We dont game, and for single person active shooting games it might be too slow. Great for other fames based on refresh rate. We just use as a large monitor and it it excellent!

Ultra wide monitor is definitely 10/10 especially with the split screening you can do on it for multiple tasks. Gaming on it is amazing!!

This was an excellent purchase for my usage. I use it for work and school. It also takes up less space than my 2 screens combined.

In March 2024, I bought my son a Samsung Odyssey 49” G9 monitor, model LS49CG954ENXZA. The price with tax, was just under $1,000. It failed a year and nine months later – nine months after the one-year warranty expired. The problem with the monitor, was that when you turn it on you just got a black screen. No on screen display no nothing, except the backlight. Windows recognized that the monitor was there. Doing a Google search for “Samsung Odyssey 49” G9 turns on but only black screen” brings up a whole raft of threads on the problem. Dozens and dozens of threads, with hundreds and hundreds of posts on the very exact same problem. Apparently, the problem traces back to Samsung’s use of a thermistor in providing overheating protection. The problems began to surface as early as 2020 and at that time, Samsung was offering a three year warranty with the product. Apparently, when the many problems with the thermistor began to surface, Samsung quietly changed the warranty to one year. On a Reddit post, a person described how in 2022, he submitted a warranty claim to Samsung and they rejected it because they had changed the warranty period to one year. The person described how, using the Internet archive, he was able to find the original webpage which spelled out the three year warranty and using that, he was able to get Samsung to honor the warranty claim. Do a Google search for Samsung Odyssey Q9 three year warranty to find that Reddit thread. Many people have found that by removing the thermistor, it solves the problem. Unfortunately, my son’s Q9 monitor has a different T-con board and we were unable to find the thermistor. So basically, my son’s $1,000 monitor is unrepairable junk. As I said, there are hundreds and hundreds of videos online describing this problem. Samsung’s action, in shortening the warranty is unconscionable. Clearly, this is a design problem or a problem caused by faulty parts. A responsible business would admit that they screwed up and make it right with the customers. I will never buy another Samsung product, ever.

An excellent monitor for a full range of projects. Samsung should make monitor arms for stacking these ultrawide monitors instead of having customers purchase off brands, taking risks on accidental falls and ruining such awesome products. These are not cheap, and are worth the money. I would trust Samsung to make a durable product over a 3rd party product.

Fits the desk perfectly. Resolution is good. Multiple connections!

Sets up really easy, the adjustability is great on the in box stand, and its easy to personalize the screen settings to what you need from the screen

I'm doing a masters in Analytics online and my courses only allow for one monitor during proctored exams. My solution, a HUGE monitor. I'm not much of a gamer, so 1ms refresh rate is more than sufficient. I love how I can have four excel spreadsheets open side by side, or an online class, an IDE and a browser open. This thing has so many pixels, I had to upgrade my mouse... WOW!

The clarity on the monitor is great. With Windows 11 at least, you can snap windows in different layouts that make it easy to arrange them how you want. The biggest Con, is the finish on the screen, it's a weird matte finish which shows more glare than a standard monitor does. The second con is the monitor, out of the box is washed out, reduce the brightness and the contrast. The third con is the base stand, it makes the monitor sit so far forward instead of having something closer to a flat mount which make it eat up a lot of valuable space on the desk.

Very nice monitor. Using it for work and Gaming. Works wonderful.

I have a need for a big screen, but have a small desk to work with. This fit the needs quite well. My only complain is that there is quite a bit of glare that comes off the screen when the room is well lit.
