Going from and LCD monitor to this is a game changer. The quality is amazing. Make sure you have enough desk room though because this thing is massive

I am writing this review to share my frustrating experience with two separate high-end monitors purchased from Best Buy in the last year. My most recent purchase, the Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED G9, was a replacement for an LG Ultragear 45" OLED that developed significant burn-in after just four months of careful use. Initially, the Samsung G9 was impressive with its large, high-quality display. However, I soon encountered a persistent issue where the monitor would randomly flicker to a black screen for 3-4 seconds. This occurred unpredictably during all types of use, including gaming, watching videos, and even on a static desktop. I performed extensive troubleshooting, including disabling Game Mode, VRR, and Adaptive Sync, lowering the refresh rate to 60Hz, and trying multiple new cables, but the problem persisted. After four months, I decided to return the monitor, relying on the 4-Year Protection Plan I had purchased. I was disappointed to learn that Best Buy's return policy had apparently changed. I was not offered an immediate exchange or refund. Instead, the only option presented was to ship the monitor for a potential repair, a process that would take a minimum of three weeks. Only after this lengthy repair evaluation could a refund potentially be issued. This resolution was not what I expected when investing in a premium product and an extended protection plan. Other retailers often provide a more streamlined process for defective items. For those considering this monitor, I highly recommend testing it thoroughly within Best Buy's initial 15-day return window. Given my experience with the warranty service, potential buyers may also want to consider purchasing from a retailer with a more flexible and efficient policy for handling defective products.

Love this monitor, once you go to oled it ruins everything else, that being said having an ultra wide is very situational, great for my sim, not so great for comp fps games.

Theres some minor caveats as I do find it frustrating that these newer monitors require software updates to fix VRR flickering I was getting with HDMI 2.1. That said getting through that I have found a lot of things I do like. The Samsung Dex integration is amazing and ultrawide works with most games I play otherwise I can use a small community patch its flawless just wish games like Diablo 4 or POE2 didnt force blackbars in UW resolutions.

To put simply.... It's beautiful. It has wonderful build quality and gaming and working via split screen with 2 laptops is amazing. However, the menu system I do not at all find intuitive. It has apps and functionality built in that makes it more like a smart TV. To me this is undesirable and overly complicated. That said, once down to it using it only as a gaming monitor and sourcing 2 laptops to split the screen is priceless.

WOW. This thing is massive. Amazing refresh rate. Makes game more immersive. Highly recommend. Make sure to download Samsung's "Easy Setting" software to get the most out of it.

This is absolutely the most beautiful monitor I've ever had. It has every feature you could ask for and I especially love all the screens I can show during my stock trading. Haven't even used it for gaming yet.

This monitor rocks. It allows the ability to have up to 8 screens on it at one time and/or two nice sized monitors for work. I don't use it for anything other than work, but I can see the value that it has for other activities that need a high end screen.

Probably my most expensive purchase but totally worth it. Great for seamless multitasking and great for gaming.

Works great colors are better than orevious version no issues or complaints completely worth it and easier to assemble than older g9.

This monitor is an art piece. Such a clean design and very minimal compared to a lot of 'Gamer' marketed products. OLED colors were poppy and contrasty as expected. The remote control was a nice touch! Stand is nice enough that I didn't feel the need to get an arm to mount the display. Things to note: Text clarity is lacking. The glossy finish with the curve and the anti-glare coating still show crazy reflections. Do not use in a bright room! Tizen OS is kind of annoying. I don't need my monitor nagging me to connect it to the internet.

The display is amazing but the PPI leaves a bit to be desired. At 53, I need more in that department. I wouldn't recommend for productivity work, but for gaming, this is solid. The 32:9 format means that some games aren't going to work, or the sides will be distorted, but in the ones that do work, it is solid!

Awesome monitor the colors are really vivid 4k ultra hd blu-rays i tested out look great i can have it fit the whole screen along with blu-rays and they look aweome at ultrawide 32.9 reminds me of being in the theatre the only way u can watch it that way ultrawide is on your game console or 4k player but for games yea this is made for pc gaming i tried the ps5 at ultra wide they look ok but 4k movies is where it pops for me i use my oled tv for my ps5 and now i will use this for my web browsing and watching 4k movies on a 4k player or blu-rays cause they look great i dont have a strong pc for pc gaming but im very happy.

Great monitor for gaming and productivity. Once you get the settings at your preference its a game changer.

For the past twenty years I started withone monitor, then 2, then 3 and for a time 4 monitors. I scrped them all for this one 49" monitor. The clarity is incredible, my productivity increased exponentially, and.... there are still many functions that I havent learned how to use yet, but evenually I will. It is very expensive, but worth every penny
