[Employee of bestbuy] It is by far probably the best monitor spec wise as Qd oled gen 2 is that much better than gen one. The problem I have with the monitor is the slow laggy Samsung ui. The limited amount of ports especially display port and lack of headphone jack. My screen also randomly goes black for a second than comes back I heard that’s been a problem since the first 49 inch. But when the monitor is at 100 it is gorgeous I’ve been playing cyberpunk and halo and it’s truly next level. Even games that don’t really support this aspect ratio like apex looks stunning. Ik asus has a monitor with this panel but I hope the gen three panels can fix the faults of this one then you’d have a perfect monitor.

I am writing this review to share my frustrating experience with two separate high-end monitors purchased from Best Buy in the last year. My most recent purchase, the Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED G9, was a replacement for an LG Ultragear 45" OLED that developed significant burn-in after just four months of careful use. Initially, the Samsung G9 was impressive with its large, high-quality display. However, I soon encountered a persistent issue where the monitor would randomly flicker to a black screen for 3-4 seconds. This occurred unpredictably during all types of use, including gaming, watching videos, and even on a static desktop. I performed extensive troubleshooting, including disabling Game Mode, VRR, and Adaptive Sync, lowering the refresh rate to 60Hz, and trying multiple new cables, but the problem persisted. After four months, I decided to return the monitor, relying on the 4-Year Protection Plan I had purchased. I was disappointed to learn that Best Buy's return policy had apparently changed. I was not offered an immediate exchange or refund. Instead, the only option presented was to ship the monitor for a potential repair, a process that would take a minimum of three weeks. Only after this lengthy repair evaluation could a refund potentially be issued. This resolution was not what I expected when investing in a premium product and an extended protection plan. Other retailers often provide a more streamlined process for defective items. For those considering this monitor, I highly recommend testing it thoroughly within Best Buy's initial 15-day return window. Given my experience with the warranty service, potential buyers may also want to consider purchasing from a retailer with a more flexible and efficient policy for handling defective products.

This monitor is gorgeous and great for gaming. Had connection and flickering issues while using display port but once I switched to HDMI the issues stopped and now the experience is so much better. Not all games support the 32:9 aspect but plenty do and there are programs you can get to make games that don't support it support it. If you have the money I highly recommend this monitor for PC gaming. You can also split the screen and treat it like two different displays either for PC and console gaming or even two different PC screens. The OS on the monitor that Samsung added is a little frustrating and slow. I'm not sure why they added it as its more suited for TVs rather than a monitor. If it wasnt for the DP issues and the OS I would give this monitor 5 stars

I got this for my bf and he is in love with . He loves using it for work how he doesn’t need so many monitors anymore. The remote is honestly so cute but very useful glad it came with

I like the monitor. I wish the following: A user's manual. I am using this for work and am having trouble toggling to my work space. Not very user friendly. Also, it has no VGA port and one of my main software products is not working correctly. Looking into returning it for a monitor that has VGA.

Only had it for a couple of weeks but no issues so far. Picture quality is great when adjusted correctly. I wish it had a 1000R curve like my old G9 49". No button on the remote to switch input is a minus.

It’s a beautiful monitor but I had to return it once I saw the LG 5k2K display.

Not even a year in and I’m seeing burn in bars from 16:9 content. Also Samsung and their smart tv experience is absolutely awful. All the nonsense shoved down your throat, all the loading and waiting for the network to update whatever ads are showing on the homescreen just so you can switch inputs from pc to hdmi. Basic offline tv features like picture by picture arbitrarily locked until you sign up for a Samsung account and you HAVE to be online. Also, it doesn’t work well with the xbox for whatever reason, the compatibility is pretty basic. Never again buying a Samsung. Only reason I am giving it more than one star is because for a short time, I was happy with the picture quality and pc gaming features, but that’s the ONLY thing it had going for it.

Great device works wonderful it even has smart tv capabilities, Not only that the 5120x1440 is insane super clear in love honestly

Great Oled 49” monitor. The size is perfect for any device but when using games some can’t handle the size. Also would hope in future they add a thunderbolt 4 or USB-c for video instead of just charging.

Good so far. We will see how it holds up long term.

This monitor is AMAZING! I play all kinds of games on it, and for a small room you can use it as a TV, watch Netflix.. all with amazing picture quality. Highly highly recommend!!

Excellent monitor with simple setup. Easy to navigate settings with included remote control. Connect ports are setup for blue sky technology expansion. Get it!
