This monitor has been nothing but a nightmare since I purchased it. Before I say anything, I recently built a PC with a 7800x3D, and a 3090, and have the most updated drivers and BIOS. This monitor fails to post every single boot. I power on my PC, the graphics card fails to communicate with the GPU (hdmi, display, any available port with appropriate cabling). I then have to hard reset and boot again, which then boots successfully. My other monitor setups do not have this problem... Then, today, 9 months after purchase, I turn my monitor on and its a bright white screen and turns itself off after 3 seconds, with vertical scanning through the white clearly visible. Unplugging the monitor, etc, the problem persists. This monitor is a beautiful monitor, but the constant nagging issues and forced Samsung FW updates that fail to fix the problems have finally rendered this stupid thing into a very expensive, frustrating, paperweight. Never buying a samsung monitor again.

I purchased this on sale and it’s no different than any other Samsung smart tv I’ve ever purchased. TRASH! I set it up, connected it to the internet, stated there was a software update, updated it. Turned off and back on and stated there was now a firmware update, updated it, turned off back and and now will not connect to my router. I have the same issue with my brand new Samsung QLED tv from best buy. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. When I try to do a factory reset it goes 50% and freezes. These smart tvs are trash! Serious quality control issues going on since Covid. Get it together! I’ll never buy another Samsung product. Had issues with a sound system and washing machine. Im officially done!

terrible terrible not even a monitor, as this is really a smart TV category now! I had G9 LCD form 2019 version and i loved it, good for eyes good quality all works well , this version OLE G9 2023 release is junk 1st its doe snot keep settings all settings u make will get wiped on power off, 2nd its not monitor you would expect its a smart TV so guess what it has Office 360, netflix, YouTube disnay plus WOW really? PC a monitor if i want to doe spreadsheet or type word doc i boot my PC and work there, if i can but $1700 i can probably afford PC for it! why to destroy product with unnecessary features! And because those features come form TV line now u have remote which guess what has all features smart TV needs but does not even have Settings or Source button which could be more appropriate for PC monitor, why sumsung wants to be so cheap. now image quolity: this is worst OLED matrix i had in my life, and it does not make sense, as i ahve othe OLED low res made my samsung and they are better, my guess as firmware optimized for TV they ignored other uses and messed up settings. If you plan to do graphics editing dont even look at this monitor unless you have nerves to tune custom color profiles and i mean tune tune with spectrometer! I have spectrometer (what a coincidence) but as settings are not retained this is useless. Hint: Red is way off. Red itnetncity is at least double of other colors, which is notmal for LED as red is usually brighter but emm does't samsung knows about it? or they just dont care? next refresh rate. 240Hz NICE! but ops thats signal one guess what lower ur brightens LEDs go into PWM and screen flikers, heavy load on eyes making u go nearly blind if try to read. So only option to use max brightness will ok untill u work at night. not enough problems? no boot up unless u unplug cable and plug it back, need to physically take DP out and plug it back on each PC reboot. Some forum users sudjets HDMI but its slower, im testing HDMI now need more problems, it has smart game mode, every time PC starts game mode turens on and not possible to rturn it off unless u use remote and go to not user friendly menu and turn it off. Or you look st game mode menu on boot then you look at game center menu then menu that reminds u that samsung did not have money to mae settings buttons to Home button on remote is actually a setting then once more thta screen to reinforec that ou got it and then you can use your PC and monitors. Total boot time with menu clicking 3 minutes... To make you happy ecen more there blue screen when you turn off pc so yea PC is okff but screen does not go off it will remind you that its a smat screen you can use ur remote to open all those cool apps. .... anfortunatly i missed my return window so despite the cost this jink monitor goes exactly where it belongs ... in dumpster, I will either dig out my 2019 version or go see what LG has to offer (or whatever other brand) no more faith in smasung... whats next fridge with netflix? i mean i have LG styler clothet with wifi but it does not kill main goal of that device ...

Overpriced and a potential fire hazard.

As the title says, its overpriced, and a potential fire hazard. The issues... 1. overheates, badly. I needed this for long sessions of multitasking for work, and occasional gaming. However, after maybe an hour i started hearing clicking noises from the monitor. The second i touched the underside of the monitor I had to yank my hand away because of how hot it was. 115 degrees Fahrenheit on the back, front and underside of the monitor. That's worrying for something i paid over a thousand dollars for. 2. The screen warping. The screen began to warp a little after checking the temp and created small bubbles and artifacts to appear all over said screen. 3. Convoluted menue. Its an absolute mess, with sub menues, and "locked features" which require you to have it connected to your wifi, and have an account with samsung. I shouldn't have to have a monitor connected to my internet or have an account to use any sort of features a thousand dollar monitor has. Nor should i be required to concent to terms of service/use, which are very loose in terms of what samsung can see and track what you are doing. 4. "Features." You get an on screen targeting dot, and speakers. The rest of the features are renamed bogstandard brightness, sound, and "gamer mode." Gamer mode, by the way requires you to fiddle with nvidia control pannel to actually give you the full fps it totes as having, or else it locks all games at 60fps. Thanks samsung, I really wanted to spend half an hour tinkering with nvidia control pannel to get the three games I play to run past 60fps. 5. Screen resolution should be better than 5120x1440, especially for the price. It feels lackluster, for a "premium" product. Yes, its OLED, but its usless with having to dial down your brightness to 2 in order to stop it from overheating. Same with the HDR, which is washed out even if you change the settings in windows or the monitors settings. In conclusion, if you want an overpriced and potential fire hazard, just buy one of the RTX 5000 series cards, 5080 and 5070ti are nearly the same price. Jokes aside, its not worth the money, nor the issues and possible need for a return or RMA to samsung.

This is not a monitor for everyone. The desk space it requires is substantial and not every game supports the full screen of this monitor. I find the built in apps annoying as it's also a full Samsung Smart TV as well as PC monitor. Overall, it's gorgeous, it's fast and it does what it's designed for. Make games look vivid and provide a view that is immersive for games you play. If you want a monitor arm that will hold this up be prepared to drop about 300-400$ as the Ergotron monitor arm with the heavy duty addon for another 100$ is the only thing that will dependably hold it or at least was when I made the purchase initially.

This is my first Ultra wide OLED and I can never go back! In games and movies the blacks are inky and the colors are vivid and deep. I only wish it had more ports, but I still have more testing to do, So far great job Samsung!

This is one of the best monitors out there. Unlike other ultrawides, this one is quite thin. Once you on OLED, it'll be hard to go back to an IPS monitor. I used the Ergotron LX Monitor Arm and it held up without any issues.
