Previously I would have to turn the volume up to 50 sometimes as high as 90 to hear what was being said. Now with the sound bar the sound level generally stays around 35 sometimes I have to drop it to 14 or 15. And yes I have lost some hearing after all I did work in a high noise environment for several years and as generally happens hearing deteriorates with age.

The sound quality and bass is awesome which makes playing games sound alot better and a lot more immersive. If you have anything that supports dolby atmos you won't be disappointed! If you have a newer Samsung tv the Q-symponhy is very cool to use.

If you want to take your Dolby Atmos experience a step farther, purchase and pair the SWA-9500S Wireless Rear Speakers. These will give you an additional 2.0.2 channels (two front-firing and two up-firing atmos channels) to give you a full surround sound experience.

Just by itself (without rear speakers) this soundbar has awesome sound with EXCELLENT bass! The subwoofer on this soundbar is so much better that I don't have to max it out just to try to hear it. A lot of settings are available, so you should read up on how to use it before posting a bad review that it doesn't work right. Worth every penny!

Adds that extra punch and motion tracking that is needed for movies and gaming. I recommend getting some rear speakers to go with to fully experience the sound too.

Sounds amazing in our living room space - rears would not look great. Definitely recommend if you do not want rear speakers but want the atmos effect. Probably would not pay $999 - got mine open box for $550 and couldnt be happier.

Room-filling, clear sound

Allows both internet and bluetooth connectivity, including the ability to connect a second bluetooth device. The room filling sound makes this an excellent alternative to SONOS or other systems. This soundbar did an excellent job of replacing a center channel paired with two front and two surround speakers. The bass room filling and I placed the subwoofer about midway into the room, enhancing the coverage. Overall the system still feels a little under powered, but I'm moving from an amp and mangetic speaker system and it might be the shirking of the speakers that plays into that opinion. Highs are crisp and midrange is bright. There is no crossover on the woofer, only the ability to attenuate the volume. Works well with the Samsung app and the automatic adjustment in volume for conflicting sounds in the room is almost magical. Strongly recommended if you need to decrease the size of speakers in your room.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the new HW-Q800B Soundbar.
You can add an additional 2.0.2 channels with the SWA-9500 Wireles Speaker Kit giving you front and up firing speakers with only the need to plug them in for power.
By pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear), you can set the audio function such as Spacefit sound, AVA, Voice enhance mode, Night mode, Sync, Surround speaker mode, Virtual. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.
• Voice enhance mode enhances spoken dialog in movies and TV to make it easier to hear.
• Night mode is optimized for night time viewing with the settings adjusted to bring the volume down but keep the dialog clear.
• Press and hold the (Sound Control) button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band.
150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.
(Make sure the Sound mode is set to “Standard”.)
• If the video on the TV and audio from the Soundbar are not synchronized, select Sync in Sound Control, and then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons.
• Sync is only supported for some functions.
• Available Surround speaker mode settings are supported only by Q930B model.
• The Virtual Speaker function can be turned ON/OFF by using the Up/Down buttons.
By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. The defired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons. This function is enabled in Sound mode excluding in Standard mode.
• To control the volume of the treble or bass sound, select TREBLE or BASS in Sound Settings, and then adjust the volume between -6 ~ +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
• Once the bass level is changed, the woofer level will be also adjusted accordingly.

Clean and accurate sound bar.

Don’t get in the weeds over all the add on features and settings. Set to standard and listen how the content you’re watching was created. The subwoofer has a pretty powerful punch that in a apartment I had to dial down. Q symphony isn’t something I suggest if you’re buying because of that. I have a Neo QLED tv and it over vocalizes voices and explosions etc aren’t balanced for it. Overall I’m very happy with it.
