The combination with the smart TV gives an authentic surrounding experience. It would be perfect if the system is primarily compatible with google assistant instead of Alexa.

The full motion wall mount and attached 50" Samsung fit perfectly in the space allotted, and the angle from the wall was as I wanted it The Geek Squad technician was extremely helpful, and I am very happy with the result. A little disappointed

But for a device this expensive the rear/side speakers should be wireless, no one wants to hide long wires from the main speaker. Also experience a slight 1second mute about every minute when watching a good movie. Can’t figure out what that is all about but it’s very annoying and should not be happening.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Q850T and for your review. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the wireless description.
Occasionally, customers have trouble hiding and running speaker wires from the front of the room (where their soundbar is) to the back of their room (where they have their rear speakers). The Rear Speaker Kit eliminates that hassle. Connect the rear speakers to its wireless module and place these three in the back of your room. One wire is required to connect each rear speaker to the wireless module. Then plug in the power cable to the module. The “wireless” convenience is in connecting your soundbar and any other speakers at the front of the room to the rear speakers – this can now be done via Wi-Fi through the wireless module, eliminating any clutter of long wires running the length of your room.
To fix the intermittent audio drops you are experiencing, you may first want to check that the cable connection is not loose. Remove the cable and connect again.
You may also want to initialize your soundbar again by pressing the - + (volume) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT” appears on the display when the soundbar is initialized.
Please also make sure that you have the latest firmware update (ver. 1019.5 released 4/6/21). You can update your firmware by Auto Update, using the SmartThings app, or by using a USB device.

Cannot be used as an Alexa speaker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This product was advertised as being able to be used as an Alexa speaker, i.e. just like an echo or echo dot where you give it a command like turn off the lights, play music, or add pretzels to my shopping list. However, when you go to set up the soundbar as an Alexa speaker from the SmartThings app it attempts to open the Alexa app, but fails to do so. The page it takes you to seems to not be linked to anything. Nothing is 'clickable'. While watching tv I'd love to be able to tell my speaker to turn the volume up or down, or add a reminder to check the laundry in an hour, etc, but it seems this device won't meet my needs. It could be a firmware update, but you can't update the firmware either because that also glitches. Others seem to be rating it highly for it's sound quality, which is good, but I was hoping for an Alexa enables device. If Samsung customer support cannot help me soon I will be returning this device (and based on other reviews and Samsung Community threads it sounds like Samsung is claiming it is an Amazon issue, so I do not have high hopes).

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q850T Soundbar. To set up the Alexa functionality, you must do it within the SmartThings app. However, if you are having trouble, follow these steps on your smart phone:
1. First delete the Soundbar from your SmartThings account: At the top left corner of the main page, tap on the 3 horizontal bars > Devices > tap on the 3 vertical dots on the top right corner > Delete > select the Soundbar > Delete
2. Uninstall the SmartThings app from your smart phone
3. Reinstall the SmartThings app from the app store
4. Sign into your SmartThings account
5. Tap the + button at the top right of the main page > select Device > AV > Samsung > Soundbar
6. After the Soundbar has been added, select the Soundbar from the main page
7. Tap on the 3 vertical dots on the top right corner and tap on “Alexa Settings” to log in to your Amazon account
