I own a Samsung 75" TV so I thought, "why not". Let's be honest, if you want to put speakers as "rear speakers" and you are simply pushing the same sounds/effects as the front center channel...then it's not real surround sound. I will give the Salesperson/Best Buy credit. They have a perfect setup in their Magnolia room (small room, low ceiling with no echo, 4K ultra TV & DVD Player, 4K ultra disk with Dolby Atmos effects). This provides for a fantastic presentation, but just realize that this product is NOT going to sound like it does in the showroom in your home. Brought it back and paid the price to get Pioneer Elite receiver with Bowers & Wilkins speakers. You just can top real surround sound.

Posted .Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-K950 Channel Soundbar with Dolby Atmos Technology. I am sorry to hear that you did not experience the full potential of this system when playing non-Atmos content.
When the soundbar detects a Dolby Atmos audio stream, it goes into a preset mode to automatically select various settings to optimize the sound for Dolby Atmos.
When the content is non-Atmos, the rear speakers may appear disengaged because the Soundbar may be in stereo mode (no surround effect).
You can also try the below to improve rear speaker performance:
1) Download the latest firmware.
2) Check that Surround Mode is set to ON.
3) Different effect modes (Standard > Music > Clear voice > Sports > Movie > Night mode) affect the levels of the surround speakers. Try a different effect to compensate for the source and room acoustics.
4) Try toggling the DRC feature. Dynamic Range Control is a feature that affects the volume levels on Dolby Digital sources.
5) Depending on the mode, the level of each speaker (including the Surround speakers) can be controlled individually.
6) Connect the Soundbar to a network and upgrade the Soundbar to the latest firmware version.
