    Samsung - Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer

    The sound quality was ok however the JBL 5.1 soundbar is much better!

    Worked fine for awhile but now sound cuts in and out every several minutes. Have used with HDMI and optic cable and still have the same problem. Would return if it wasn’t outside the return window.

      Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q60T and for your review. I am very sorry you are experiencing intermittent connection issues. You may want to check that the cable connection is not loose. Remove the cable and connect again.

      You may also want to initialize your soundbar again by pressing the - + (volume) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT” appears on the display when the soundbar is initialized.

      Please also make sure that you have the latest firmware update. You can update your firmware by Auto Update, using the SmartThings app, or by using a USB device.

    Soundbar sounds good enough but the sound randomly cuts out a lot of the time. Based on my internet search this is a common issue with Samsung sound bars, and there is possibly a fix (adjusting TV audio to pcm or something like that), but nothing I have tried solves the issue so far. Samsung really dropped the ball on this - a soundbar should be pretty much plug and play without needing to adjust multiple settings. At the very least there should be solutions to this issue either in the troubleshooting portion of the manual or through Samsung’s website. As of now I haven’t been able to fix it, and the only possible solutions I’ve found were from a Reddit post. Bad form, Samsung.

      I am sorry to hear that you had some sound cut outs with the Samsung HW-Q60T soundbar.
      This may be due to connection issues. Connecting your soundbar to the TV with HDMI will give you the best possible audio. HDMI cables transmit sound digitally, which makes everything crystal clear.

      Please know that this model can be connected to your TV via HDMI.
      Here is the step-by-step guide for your reference:
      1) With the Soundbar and TV turned on, connect the HDMI cable.
      2) “TV ARC” appears in the display window of the Soundbar main unit and the Soundbar plays TV Sound.
      a. If TV sound is inaudible, press the (Source) button on the remote control or on the right side of the Soundbar to switch to “D.IN” mode. The screen displays “D.IN” and “TV ARC” in sequence, and the TV sound is played.
      b. If “TV ARC” does not appear in the display window of the Soundbar main unit, confirm that the cable is connected to the correct port.
      c. Use the volume buttons on the TV’s remote control to change the volume on the Soundbar.

      If the TV provides an ARC port, connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN (ARC) port. We recommend you use a coreless HDMI cable if possible. If you use a corded HDMI cable, use one whose diameter is less than 0.55 inches (14 mm). This function is not available if the HDMI cable does not support ARC.

      If you are connecting via Bluetooth, there are a few things that you may want to check:

      1) The maximum wireless signal transmission distance is about 33 ft.
      2) If there is a wall between the sound bar and the subwoofer it may cause interference or not work at all depending on the material in the wall.
      3) If there is a device that uses the same wireless frequency (2.4 GHz) near the Soundbar, interference may cause some sound interruption.
      4) Check all of the sources on the soundbar. If the audio is dropping while watching TV it could be an issue with the broadcast.
      5) Also, please be sure you have the latest firmware update. You can update your firmware by using a USB device. You can find the update on the product page of your HW-Q60Ton the Samsung website.
