I’ve had this for a little over a year. It sounded great until the subwoofer stopped working a few days ago. I initially thought it was disconnected until I put my ear against it and heard a faint audio coming from it. This is frustrating especially as I’ve never had this issue with all Samsung appliances and equipment I’ve owned for years.

Positive is that it looks nice. But, the bass is non existent, you had to max out the volume to get an sort of sound from the sub. With the bass non existent at the lower volume levels, the audio wasn't real clear on any of the different audio settings. I could get into further detail but it's not worth it. I exchanged it for the JBL 5.1 which sounds way better with the audio clarity and the bass blows the Samsung out of the water.

Returned it to the store. Had it setup to our Samsung TV and the sound would randomly cut out. We waited 2 weeks before returning it and the problem never went away. We even tried cable, Netflix, and PS4. Didn’t matter the input the audio would randomly cutout. First Samsung product we had a problem with.

      Hello Mduran,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-S60T featuring Side Horn Speakers with Acoustic Beam and Adaptive Sound which delivers optimized sound based on each scene. I'm sorry to see that you are not completely happy with performance.

To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: STANDARD, MUSIC, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.

You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).

Here's a tip to improve your experience:

Press the Sound Mode button on your remote control and select Adaptive Sound. In Adaptive Sound mode, the soundbar analyzes the content and volume to optimize the audio rendering resulting in clearer dialogue.

Using Dynamic Range Control (DRC). DRC lets you apply dynamic range control to Dolby Digital tracks. With DRC turned on, loud sounds will be reduced.
      1) Turn off your Soundbar.
      2) While the Soundbar is off, press and hold the Sound Mode button on the remote control for 6 seconds until you see “DRC ON” shown on the display.
      3) To turn off DRC, repeat steps 1 and 2 above.

I hope this helps improve your sound experience. Should you need further assistance with features, functions, settings, or adjustments, please contact Samsung Customer Support at:

I don’t think I could ever watch tv again without these speakers. Even the news is more exciting with the different effects, sound quality. We’ve been having issues as a family with being able to hear the television at a level that is comfortable for all due to the noisy, but powerful air conditioner that cools the entire first floor, but now it’s not an issue. The Samsung sound bar with wireless subwoofer is just the toy the whole family needed to get that movie theater experience we’ve been missing. We plan to watch many more movies/shows. Binge watching will have new meaning. The subwoofer really makes a difference in feeling the action sounds, the sound of movements such as water/wind/thunder and more. You really feel like you’ve left your home and are in a theater...bring your popcorn, turn the lights down and warn your neighbors it’s movie night. My cell phone immediately paired up with the blue tooth feature and I was up and grooving to my fav tunes. My kids were all smiles and in awe of the sounds coming from their devices over the speakers...almost like they can hear for the first time. I’ve attached a USB containing music files and while it didn’t sound as crisp as all of the other media played using the speakers, we believe it was the quality of the music recording files in the USB itself, since all other sounds were flawless. I would have liked to have a longer plug since we have an older home and there aren’t too many outlets within reach of where I wanted to place the subwoofer. You can switch, with the touch of the remote, the style of sound you want to listen to your media in. It even contains a gamer mode which we also tried and found to be quite good. We had a bit of trouble with the slim remote and kept muting without realizing it and thought the speakers weren’t hooked up properly. The two buttons, thin and rectangular in shape, that control the volume on the sound bar and the subwoofer can be pushed to quickly mute. Once we learned our mistake we quickly got the hang of the useful remote. No need to fumble in the dark looking for a mute button. I feel it’s important to adjust the volume on both speakers when you switch to different types of movies/shows/media, as some may contain explosions, while others can be romantic comedies not necessitating the use of high volume on the subwoofer. There’s a small indicator on the sound bar that changes as you move from USB to BT (blue tooth), DIN and more. At first I thought I had forgotten to turn off the sound bar, but after several days of the sound bar being on as the tv was turned on, we realized turning the tv on WAS turning the sound bar on as well. That could be useful IF you always intend to have the speakers on with every show or could be a hindrance if you’ve left the volume on loud and it’s early in the morning when you put the tv on.

Horrible sound bar. My $100 one from Walmart sounds better than this. The subwoofer does not even have much sound nor bass. The remote will not let me adjust bass or anything. Used same remote on another Samsung sound bar and it would let me change the bass settings. Maybe this one is defective. I will be returning the product and just use what I had.

      Waco,

Thank you for sharing your review of the Samsung HW-Q60T Soundbar. I am sorry to see that you are not completely happy with the sound performance. This soundbar features a powerful wireless subwoofer, as well as Game Pro Mode, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS Digital Surround for deep bass, rich sound, and clear tones.

You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME PRO, ADAPTIVE SOUND, or DTS VIRTUAL:X.

You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).

Refer to pages 22-24 of the User Manual for detailed instructions:  https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202004/20200417163727097/HW-Q60T_ZA_FullManual_02_ENG_200219.pdf

There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize bass from the soundbar and subwoofer:
      1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.

      2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.

If there is anything we can do to improve your sound such as helping to optimize settings, please let us know. You can reach Samsung Customer Support at:

With all the ultra thin TV's these days I can truly say that the sound performance for most is lackluster to say the least. If there is one thing I truly dislike about my Samsung TV it is the sound performance. One way to solve that is to buy a good quality sound bar like this Samsung q60t. The soundbar is constructed very well and is much nicer than a previous Samsung soundbar that I own. The wireless sub woofer also has a solid build quality and a sleek design. The soundbar has 2 physical input options that include HDMI and optical audio. You also have the option to connect your source to the soundbar via Bluetooth however I recommend that you connect your TV via one of the physical connections so that you can truly enjoy the capabilities of the soundbar. As soon as I opened the box I want to experience the sound quality of the soundbar so I played some music via blue tooth from my. phone. Initially I was not too impressed with the sound as I played a music podcast, however when I switched the audio profile to adaptive audio and played a studio quality audio track it sounded much better. The soundbar is good for a medium sized room however it can suffice for a larger room. Additionally you can add Samsung wireless rear speakers to your setup to achieve a more immersive surround sound experience. The connection to my TV was seamless and the sub woofer automatically connects to the soundbar. Your movie watching experience will definitely be improved with the soundbar however it is not going to rival a proper 5.1 setup. I have this hooked up on a secondary TV in my house and the kids enjoy using it for watching movies and gaming The one thing I dislike about the soundbar is the remote. I am not a fan of the remote design and just like my identical Samsung TV remote I have placed this one in the drawer of the media cabinet opting to used my Logitech harmony remote instead. Samsung does include wall mounts in the box and I think I will eventually hang it up so I can free up a little space on the cabinet. Overall you won't go wrong if you are looking for a well built sleek soundbar that is easy to use and wont break the bank.

This Samsung Sound Bar is really good. The unit comes with a good subwoofer that brings you quality sound.. The connection to your TV is made through bluetooth, an HDMI ARC connection or an optical cable. My TV is a bit older so there is no bluetooth or HDMI Arc option so I had to buy an optical audio cable and connect that way. Once done the subwoofer and the sound bar and TV all connected effortlessly. I installed the sound bar on the wall with the included wall hangers. You will have to provide your own wall anchors. The unit looks good on the wall. I do wish that these manufacturers would make it easier to hide the cables on the sound bar. This is NOT a Samsung exclusive problem. It is a problem with sound bars in general. The bass sound is very good and the surround sound gives a movie like experience. The included remote is good as well though it does have one annoying thing about it. When moving volume up or down by pushing the volume button (bar) up or down you often MUTE the unit because in between pushing up and pushing down the center portion of that button mutes the sound. The nice thing on the remote is the separate woofer volume and the ability by remote to change the different sound modes. This Samsung soundbar is very good indeed.
