Keep overheating after one hour of use

Not working with Xfinity XG1v4a

Every time I turned on the TV I had to manually change the soundbar from HDMI ARC mode to HDMI in order to get and output.

I am very sorry that you are experiencing connection issues with your soundbar. Please make sure you are running the latest firmware update which includes improved connectivity. You can update your firmware ver. 1003.6 by Auto Update, using the SmartThings app, or by using a USB device.
Your connection issue may be due to your cable or satellite box. When connecting your Samsung TV, keep in mind that most cable and satellite boxes today can be connected with HDMI, and that’s a good thing, because HDMI offers the best picture and sound. If your cable box has component connections, the first thing you may want to do is contact your cable company and see if there is an upgraded box available. If not, you can still get up to a 1080p (Full HD) picture with component connections, but for many TVs you will need a component to HDMI adapter if the TV does not support component out of the box.
1) Make sure the TV and cable or satellite box are turned off.
2) Connect an HDMI cable to your cable or satellite box’s HDMI out port, which should be located on the back.
3) Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to any of the empty HDMI ports on your Samsung TV.
Note: Make sure to remember what number the port is so you can change your TV’s source to it in a moment.
4) Turn on your TV and the cable or satellite box. Now depending on your TV, a few different things may happen:
Your TV may automatically recognize that you connected a cable or satellite box and not only switch to the source, but change the name of the source to the name of your cable box. You can now watch TV and control the cable box with your Samsung Smart TV remote.
Note: This only works when using an HDMI connection.
If nothing happens, that is ok. You need to either press Source on your remote, or navigate to source using the on screen menu to change to the HDMI port that you connected your cable or satellite box to.

A waste of money

Speaker are crap

Good, Reliable Sound Bar with Nice 2.1 Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is my third sound bar but the first made by Samsung which I have tried. My main media room has a full theater sound setup but due to the wife-acceptance-factor, I use sound bars for TVs in other rooms. This is an attractive sound bar and I particularly liked the digital display on the front. My other sound bars did not include this but I find it great for fine tuning and making sure the sound bar is adjusting accurately. It is hidden unless you trigger a setting and after a few seconds of no change, the LED display disappears again. It comes with two brackets if you want to wall mount it. I have not tried yet but it looked fairly easy and when I eventually get around to wall mounting this one, it should not pose a problem. It also shipped with an HDMI cable which I always find a thoughtful but usually necessary addition and saves me running to the garage to hunt through my collection. Hooking up the sound bar is fairly easy – it has inputs for optical, HDMI ARC and a second HDMI connection. There is a USB port as well which is probably for firmware updates. The sound bar will pair over Bluetooth if you want to play music directly to it from a phone or tablet. The sub-woofer is a good blend of size and power. It will not compete with a dedicated home theater sub-woofer but for most consumers, it should be plenty for getting low frequency effects and bass in soundtracks. I connected the HDMI output port to the ARC HDMI port on my TV. The TV is a little old and did not handle it quite as I expected but I would think if you have a more recent TV, you could leave it on the main ARC (audio return channel) input and then your other devices that connected into your TV would send the sound correctly to the sound bar. In my case, it doesn’t quite work that way but if I switch back to using the optical out from the TV, it should take care of that. The sound quality of this sound bar is very good for a virtual 5.1 setup. I did not need to crank the volume up too far to get room-filling sound. The remote control has easily accessible volume buttons as well as mute and buttons to adjust treble and bass. You can also change the mode of the sound bar on the fly, such as whether it outputs the sound as sent to it, applies pseudo-surround sound or adaptive sound processing. I found the adaptive setting my favorite for movies and music and was impressed with how it somehow confused my ears into hearing sounds from behind or overhead. This must be done with some ceiling or wall-bouncing tech as there appears to be a slot in the top of the sound bar which may be outputting sounds in a certain frequency so they reach your ears in a way to simulate surround sound. The included user guide lists that you can also purchase some add-on surround sound speakers and then have the full 5.1 experience, just as the movies were created. I did not get these and have not tested them but if you have the room, that could be a nice upgrade. The sound bar says it can handle Dolby Digital, DTS Surround and DTS Virtual:X I tried it with several movies I had on Vudu and they all performed well, regardless of the type of soundtrack listed. I like playing audio through it, usually through Spotify on my Xbox One and with the sound processing set the way I like it, it is a very pleasant listening experience. This sound bar is a large upgrade from just about any TV’s built-in speakers. It is not the most feature-packed sound bar but it is competent, reliable and easy to setup and use. The audio quality is excellent and the simulated surround sound is one of the most impressive I have heard to date.

They told us to call the Geek Squad which we did. He came today. He ended up telling us just to take it back to the store and have it replaced.

Please check that the power cord is firmly plugged into the wall outlet and power adapter. Unplug and reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and the power adapter to make sure the connection is secure. Also, please check that power adapter is firmly connected to the main unit. Disconnect the power adapter from the Soundbar and reconnect to make sure the connection is firm and secure.

If it’s Netflix I have it maxed out to 100 and it’s not even loud and on other things it’s loud at a low volume.

You may want to try Adaptive Sound. The soundbar automatically delivers optimized sound based on each scene and lets you hear voices clearly at low volumes.
Press the Sound Mode button on your remote control and select Adaptive Sound.

Not worth it

Sounds Awesome!

When we cut the cable cord we were having some issues where the volume across our streaming apps was inconsistent. This has absolutely fixed that issue and it sounds so good! I christened my sound bar with a show of Hamilton and it was absolutely beautiful! The set up was super easy and having the subwoofer across the room genuinely makes “movie night” something special!

Don't waist your time
