Absolute Nightmare

It was beautiful and worked for a short time, until one day we started smelling gas when it wasn’t being used. At first I thought I was just smelling things but after a week or so it got worse. It only happened when the unit was not in use. After fighting with Samsung they finally sent a tech out who smelled nothing, did no tests, so of course since he couldn’t smell gas there couldn’t be a leak. BGE came out and red tagged it for oven control valve leaking. Samsung sent another tech out who took it apart and said there was no leak. Again he didn’t smell gas and there were no bubbles so it’s perfectly safe. Tech said they weren’t coming out again oh well. Seriously!! Samsung has been dismissive and their techs admittedly had no gas knowledge! Their way of telling if there was a leak was to smell gas, no gas meters in hand at all. So because they didn’t smell gas there must not be a leak and they said BGE can’t be trusted. Samsung was supposed to escalate my ticket for review but guess what they didn’t. Meanwhile, I plugged it in because Samsung said I could and it was safe. Again gas filled the kitchen. So again I called Samsung and thankfully I did because that ticket never got sent for review, shocker. So a third tech came out and said they’d replace the gas valve. Well he came back out and said Samsung told them to only replace the red safety cap. Guess what BGE red tagged it again for the same thing. Again, Samsung sworn nothing was wrong according to their techs. So a fifth tech visit was scheduled. The day of the appointment the tech called to cancel telling me my fight was with Samsung. So after arguing with Samsung they told me they couldn’t exchange my stove because they don’t exchange gas units. They said they would pay me ONLY the cost of the unit, nothing more, including the protection plan I purchased through Best Buy, installation cost, gas kit, haul away, permit, taxes, etc. Not to mention I’ve been without a stove on and off since January and that’s going to continue considering no one is installing anything due to COVID-19. So now I’m fighting with Samsung to try to get my actual out-of-pocket so I can afford to replace the stove fully. Oh and Best Buy has been absolutely no help. Their customer service reps told me they were a third party seller and there is nothing they can do. They could only offer me a prorated refund of my never used protection plan and refused to offer any additional assistance at all. This entire experience has been a nightmare so buyer beware!! If the unit works you’re okay but if there are issues you Are treated like a liar and will go through an absolute nightmare to get any assistance at all!! Not to mention you’re shipped over seas to speak with people who refuse to detour from their mandated script. I’ll never buy Samsung again and this experience has made me seriously consider no longer doing business with Best Buy either!!
