Not a good Smart TV - Dumb TV

My smart phone runs Chrome and other browsers. Why can't this so-called Smart TV? I bought it to watch a football game that was on ESPN. The terrible browser would not run any web site that was broadcasting the show. I had to watch it on my laptop. Browser sucks and Samsung has indicated there is no plan on upgrading it or providing Chrome or Firefox or any other decent browser. You might as well buy a regular TV. I'm returning to Best Buy.

Not that great

We ended up returning this tv to the store and stepped up to a larger higher quality tv.

ok kind of screen

Picture Degrades Quickly When Viewing at Angles

Love the TV, but the service could use work

The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the service-related blips. First, the delivery driver (not Best Buy) left it by the garage; if I hadn't seen him driving away, I wouldn't have known it was there until I received the updates from BB. I managed to get it inside and set it up on my own (one person can do this), and I hooked up my DVD player. The TV's remote is a bit odd, but I'm getting used to it. Then came the bigger problem: about 5 minutes into a program on Amazon, it paused and told me that my device had insufficient bandwidth. Since I have 60mbps internet, this seemed unlikely. Luckily (I thought), I'd purchased the service plan. I called the Geek Squad, and after several transfers, I ended up with a Samsung (not BB) person who knew only slightly more about the TV than I did. After 20 minutes of "try this/it's still not working/try it again," he told me I needed to have BB replace the TV. So I called the Geek Squad again. This time, a perky young woman informed me that the 5-year plan I'd just purchased didn't cover tech support, but she could transfer me to someone who would charge for it. My other options, she said, were to pay the $150 for someone to bring a new TV and set it up and connect it, or return the TV to the store. I expressed my dissatisfaction with these options in polite, yet forceful, terms, and I told her to transfer me to the tech person to find out what he'd charge for his services. Through sheer dumb luck, I ended up with the right person at last. Without charging me anything, he did some troubleshooting and told me that the issue was with the strength of my internet connection. To confirm this, we tried connecting the TV to my phone's mobile hotspot, and it worked perfectly. (If you have an unlimited data plan--which I don't--you may be content to do all your TV streaming this way.) He also answered many other questions I had about the TV (such as the various picture settings--I'd never heard of "dynamic" or "movie"-- and some quirks about the remote that I'd never have guessed). As for the streaming, he recommended talking to someone at the store to see whether I needed a better router or just something to boost the signal. Bottom line: you may have to keep pushing in order to find the person with the answers, but that person is out there somewhere. Once you have that person, you'll enjoy this TV.

Bad order

TVs are not supposed to smell burned when you take them out of the box probably they received a bad order and I was one of the lucky guys to get one. Tv still works but I always feel like it can stop anytime. This whole experience has ruined my first tv purchase ever :( oh well lol

Nice entry level Samsung tv

The sound is not the best but a sound bar fixes that issue... Would be nice for the remote to include numbers but I guess there going away from that and more towards voice guided. The hdr is not true and only applies during special content. Overall, great TV at a cheap Black Friday price.

Don't waste your money

If you move from side to side, picture will fade away. Picture quality is also jittery and jerky. Colours are dull. I returned this product to Best Buy because of the poor picture quality.

Great TV

The Best Buy specs said 0 digital optical out ports, but there is one. This almost made me not buy the TV since I have a soundbar I wanted to hook up this way. But - it was a little hard to get the cable into the TV, finally it clicked in and now I can't get it out. Luckily I don't need to right now but I don't like that it's either so hard to get out you feel like you're going to break something, or it's really stuck. Anyone else have this issue? Another small complaint - I had last year's model (a diff size) so I had last year's remote - this newer remote has voice control but will NOT control the volume of my soundbar. However, if I use last year's remote with this year's TV, it will control the volume of my soundbar (I have an LG soundbar with the Samsung TV via digital optical cable). Note that when I hit volume up/down on the newer remote, it shows the "Audio/out Optical" on the screen but the volume doesn't change. So now I'm using the old remote instead. Is this how the new remote should work or is there something wrong with mine? Overall a great TV though, the remote is amazing and makes it so much easier than those old huge remotes with a million buttons. It's so easy to bounce around from apps to sources. And you can control fire stick, ROKU, etc, with the Samsung remote.

Stray just a few degrees in any direction and the image is terrible. not worth the money. we kept it as a gaming tv because you have to sit right in front to do any gaming.

Was worried about the sound with other reviews but the sound quality is better than expected. Easy to use and easy to set up. Quality of picture for 4K ultra HD is amazing!
