Disappointed with the small remote control since it took awhile to figure what buttons controlled all of the features on the set. Would be nice to have more detailed instructions on the control included with box to set up the tv other than online. Otherwise, this is a nice tv.

Thank you for purchasing the 50" AU8000 Crystal UHD TV and for sharing your review. I’m sorry to hear that your out-of-box experience has initially fallen short of your expectations.
Many of the buttons on your remote have multiple functions. For example, the Volume button is moved UP/DOWN to adjust volume, and to MUTE the sound, you need to PRESS it in. If that same button is pressed for > than 1 second, the Accessibility Shortcuts appears. Pressing the RETURN button (looks like a curved, backwards facing arrow) returns you to the previous menu, pressing it while watching a program will take you back to the previous channel.
To assist you with learning the features and functionality of the remote or TV interface, you can download the AU8000 TV's User Manual, e-Manual, Remote Control Leaflet, and Quick Setup Guide on Samsung's website by clicking "Support" > "Manuals & Software" > "TVs & Home Theater" > "TVs". From there, you can select the AU8000 TV under "Crystal UHD TVs” > “A Model Lineup" and download the guides you would like. The e-Manual is also embedded into the TV itself under Settings > Support > Open e-Manual.

The first one started "acting up" and was past the warranty. We like all the features and the size. We wanted to get another one so it would fit in our entertainment center.

Solar remote doesn’t work half the time

It does not take batteries therefore, you’ll have to let it retards by using natural lighting a.k.a. the sun. There is a USB port that you can charge, but mine isn’t working. I decided to get another remote that is compatible for my TV, but I also use the app and they have a remote there, too, and I can use.

Everything I wanted in a TV

It connects easily to my Apple air pods,or I can just use the sound bar. It connects easily to my iPad when I watch YouTube. I watch a live stream on YouTube tube every week of someone playing word games. I can submit my guess in the comment section using my iPad. Overall it has a beautiful picture. There was no need to go for a more expensive TV. This one is perfect in every way.

I like it has a sharp, detailed 4K picture. I like it has good upscaling. I like it has a superb smart TV platform. I like it has solid motion handling. I don’t like it has limited connectivity. I don’t like it lacks brightness for the best HDR. I don’t like it has narrow viewing angles. Overall, this Samsung TV is an excellent value which offers good performance for the money.

Call for service and they told me it would be cheaper to get a new one. Flickering stopped and lines went away for about 3 weeks, now all I see is flickering on the entire screen. It's not even 3yrs old.

Remote is not the easiest to adjust to, slight learning curve. Picture is crisp, not a ton of shadow images during dark scenes, blacks are decent, HDR Does well even during gaming. Really enjoy the 4k, lag is not noticeable for an actual 60hz refresh rate. Small footprint when not using the stand. Adequate HDMI inputs, and the built-in Bluetooth option is nice for syncing wireless headphones for night watching without disturbing others.
