    After 2 months of use this TV has proven to be a good choice. It was easy to set up with a few adjustments to attach it to the bracket we already have in our room. I would recommend.

    Good picture but it took over all the settings I had. I have cable and when I turn it on it goes to the tv wifi first. Also I lost the phone # showing up on the tv when I get a call

      Hi JohnH

      I'm glad you reached out to us. While your DU8000 TV may currently default to Samsung’s TV Plus app, please know you can choose what your TV does when you turn it on by going to Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Start Screen Option.

      1) Enabling Start with Smart Hub Home automatically launches Smart Hub when the TV is turned on. Navigate to this option to enable or disable the feature.
      2) If Autorun Last App is set to on, the last used app is automatically run when you turn on the TV. You can turn this function on or off by pressing the Select button in the current menu

    It obviously isn't as good as the more modern expensive tvs but it's worth the price the only issue is that the sound quality isn't the best or the highest but it is a tv

    I have had my Samsung for a few weeks and have not been disappointed. Easy to set up and has good resolution. Best Buy sales person was very helpful answering my questions and helping me choose the right TV for me.

    Picture quality is only average. Just did not turn out to be what I was expecting, purchased to replace a 10-year-old Samsung and the picture quality did not improve. It does have a decent picture if you are watching something new. If you are watching older shows it is very grainy. Sound is not great so may have to invest in sound bar. I have owned several Samsung TVs put this is not their best effort. Wish I had spent the money and bought a better tv.

      Hi Rich,

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your DU8000 TV’s image quality. The TV will upscale any content sent to it as best as possible. The closer your content is to 4K, the better the image will look on the screen.

      Here are some tips to help improve picture clarity:

      1) HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing.
      2) If you have an analog cable box or satellite box, upgrade to a digital cable box or satellite box.
      3) Change the output resolution of your devices, such as digital broadcast receivers, IPTV, and set-top boxes, to UHD or HD.
      4) You can further adjust your sharpness, brightness, contrast, color, and more by going to Settings > All Settings> Picture > Expert Settings
      5) Choose a Picture Mode by going to Settings > All Settings> Picture > Picture Mode and choose from Dynamic, Standard, Natural, Movie, or Filmmaker Mode.
      6) For optimal motion image performance, you may want to adjust the picture clarity setting by going to Settings > All Settings> Picture > Expert Settings > Picture Clarity Settings.

    Great Picture TV, But sound...

    Samsung makes a great clear picture. But the sound on this set is HORRIBLE. The sound scale goes from 0 to 100. To hear most programs reasonably well you must crank volume to AT LEAST 84, some programs your at 90. When you buy in the store they show you the picture, never the sound. So before you buy ANY TV ask to hear the sound so you wont be disappointed.

      Hi VMCO,

      Thank you for sharing your experience with low volume. There are several volume features you can adjust, which may improve your audio experience.

      1) Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input. Go to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume.

      2) Adaptive Sound automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source. Go to Settings> All Settings> Sound> Sound Mode> Adaptive Sound.

      3) Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > All Settings> Sound > Sound Mode.

      Also, some sources have their own volume control, which might need to be set higher. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV and then try the cable connection again.
