Lasted only 3 years

Great TV - Very happy minus 2 things
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PICTURE- Not quite the stunning OLED experience, but it was the best I could find for the price. Upscaling is really good with hd antenna. Blacks are deep and true. Display works well in sunlight as well. If you are going to watch 4k content recommend a LAN connection for fastest possible data speeds. Screen mirroring was easy and convenient with my GS5 phone. Nice feature. ONE CONNECT BOX- Not a big fan. The connection cord is proprietary and not suitable for in wall use, nor is it long enough, and the connectors are way too big for pulling through existing walls. Will attach to wall for wall mount TV and coil cord. Hope Samsung comes out with 3-4 ft cord option in the future. Deducted 1/2 a star. REMOTE- Small. Underwhelming initially. I think my first words were "WTF?!". After using it, however, it is really designed well. Very user friendly and efficient. Voice commands work well. SOUND- Not horrible. Adequate volume and clarity, but certainly not high fidelity. Will look into soundbar but not a dire need. WEBCONTENT- Not terribly impressive. This is also where I deducted 1/2 a star. Content is limited. Expected morr from Ssmsung. Intend to add a Roku device to provide more options. OVERALL- Compared to the Sony 850D and 930 models. I would rate this TV better than both. 930 is a closer match. 850D not even close. Also compared to Vizio P series, but decided to go Samsung for comparable pricing. My final decision was either the OLED from LG or this one at 1/2 the cost. Still happy with the compromise.

Excellent 4K TV. You can not go wrong.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent two hours in the store trying to decide which tv to buy. Sure there were cheaper models that deliver 4K but you have to take into perspective other features. Motion blur for instance. Dynamic range makes a huge difference. Details are so crisp you can now see flaws in tv shows you never saw before. Actors make-up lines, wig lines, camera shaking, quite humorous, Makes you see tv in a different light. No flat screen offers great audio but this one does fine for your average living room. I was debating whether or not to fork an extra $100 for a curve screen but we have all watched tv in a flat screen our whole lives, we don't suddenly " need " a curve screen. This is one fantastic tv.

Best Low End of the High End 4K TVs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've waited a few months before posting a review, as a TV like this requires some time to configure and test. All I can say is, WOW! This is a fantastic TV and if you get it on a good discount ($999), it is a steal. While it doesn't have the visual fidelity of the LG OLED series and it doesn't have as many features as the KS9000 series, it is still a solid TV that outperforms almost everything else that I tested. The stock colors are sharp and the picture quality is great, but the color and picture configurations allow for a huge level of customization. Using calibration numbers based on Rtings with a few personal tweaks, the quality on both HDR and non-HDR content are fantastic. Not only do UHD/HDR titles on services like Amazon look fantastic, but so do standard UHD videos, upscaled videos, and video games on the Playstation 4 Pro. Even on the Game mode, the picture retains a superior quality with an extremely low input and display lag. Even my computer connected to the TV looks great and allows me to sit back and watch services like Twitch on a bigger screen. When I pulled it out of the box and hooked it all up, I did notice that one to two small pixels were dead. On a screen this size, it was very hard to notice. I can only really notice it on a light screen with no moving images. While it is unfortunate that there are some dead pixels, I suppose that has to be accepted as I had no desire to pack it all back up and return it, then wait for a replacement. Another issue I have is that the SmartHub and some apps can be very slow. Even when I am connected via a wired Cat5e, these services can lag significantly at times. Services like YouTube can also disconnect me randomly and force me reboot the SmartHub and then activate my YouTube account again. This doesn't happen often, but it happens enough to make it an annoyance.

Fantastic picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really happy with the quality of the TV right out of the box. Took no time at all to set up. Initially the picture was almost TOO sharp, and reminded me of when I watched the Hobbit in HFR in the theater. It's kind of distracting but I got used to it. Works well with my Sony soundbar, Sony BluRay, PS4 and Wii U.

GREAT TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first purchased an LG but the picture was not quality. After much reading I returned it and got this TV. A much better picture and sound. Sound wasn't important to me. I have a surround sound system. The picture quality is my reason for buying this. I'm watching it in the Natural mode without any changes and am very happy with it. The menu system is very easy to switch inputs to Bluray Player or Netflix/Amazon. The only thing I would like improved is the remote. It's a lot of clicking. The number input requires a sub menu on the screen. This menu is necessary when using streaming services. No number keys, I only use it to switch inputs. My FIOIS box remote turns TV on/off and switches channels. So Samsung remote is a minor irritation. I didn't care for the TV stand legs so I had it mounted on the wall. Glad I did. The 12 inches up from the table makes it easier to watch while setting. GEEK squad did a great neat job installing on the wall. I very pleased with the menu options and using this TV. Highly recommend.

Great 4k TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 4k tv was purchased after reviewing all 4k TV's from Samsung, Sony, LG, Toshiba and Vizio. I chose this because it was on sale for $999, has 240Hz, 4 HDMI. The picture is excellent in HDR (note not HDR10) mode.. The tv is very thin and hangs well and is easy to manage. The included smart tv features, 4k streaming from Netflix, and easy configuration contributed to a great out of the box experience.

Hey 1080p Content Looks Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been working with my older parents in helping them pick out a TV. It turned into more of a chore than I expected because of the changes in television technology. The problem isnt the growth of 4k but rather the move from remotes and on-screen displays to using your android or i-phone to control everything. Initially we bought a 65 inch Vizio TV, but it turned out terrible - I reviewed that one earlier and it was pretty bad. 4k video played great, but non 4k video was awful. The color reproduction was turrible and video, grainy. We took it back and this time stuck with Samsung who I knew made the best displays. The guy in Bestbuy helped us narrow it down to this one. 55 inches seems to be the sweet spot for a living room TV today. And this TV has a remote that allows you to change picture settings, inputs, audio, etc. MOre than that it has numerous apps and it's quite easy to move between the apps and Directv. The picture quality is great so far, especially when color is needed. Avatar looks stunning even though it's a dated title. The voice recognition is a nice add-on which helps not having to type out or search for things without keyboard. So far I highly recommend this TV.

Happy so far...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced a samsung 50" plasma with a sony 65" 810c. Issues: light bleed, narrow viewing angles, excessive glare, and had to reset tv couple times to use smart features. Also some very noticeable vertical light and dark shaded bars on white/bright colors. I exchanged for this set. I was reluctant to pay a little more for a smaller tv, but had to to get the latest options. It doesn't upscale directv as well as the sony did, but there is almost no light bleed. Viewing angles are much better and blacks look black. Screen glare is much better, and so far the smart hub features are much more fluid. It is still early in the 4k game, but if you buy one spend the extra $ and go with this or better samsung. I hate the idea of helping any company market their products, but I would recommend this tv if someone asked.

Great Bright Picture...Though Glaring Flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good: The picture on this TV is phenomenal in an environment having substantial ambient light and bright content (sports, for example). It produces excellent vibrant colors and an extremely sharp picture. If the main usage is watching sports or TV shows in a room with lights normally on, this set will most likely impress. The form factor is amazingly sleek and fits in nicely with a modern/contemporary design. I find the only 2016 models with a better design than the SUHD Samsungs are the Oled LGs. Bad: I would not put this TV where many movie viewings will take place in low lighting. Coming from a last gen Panasonic Plasma and a JVC D-ILA projector, I've gotten used to good-to-great black level performance and native contrast. Perhaps it is just my particular example, but the KS8000F has very bad light blooming/bleeding in dark scenes with embedded bright areas. It is easy to make out where edge lighting is being turned on. For instance, if there's text or something bright in the middle (think movie credits) the entire middle third of the TV will be lit with a washed out black and blooming out from the light source. This is extremely annoying, and frankly I'd prefer just having a washed out black than the dimming trickery they try to pull off with the edge-lit "local dimming". The motion handling is also less-than-impressive...To the point where I just turned all motion handling features off to get rid of the juttering and soap-opera effect being introduced (motion seems fine without this stuff on). I don't think I would recommend this model to someone unless they are after a very sleek form factor and will not spend much time viewing in low light environments. The new Vizio P class with full array local dimming would probably be a better choice for low-light viewing (and at a lower price). The caveat with the Vizio is that it's half and inch deeper than Samsung, so the design and form factor isn't nearly as sleek.

Well... this just nails it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this TV and I was pretty skeptical it would work as advertised or that I could get it to work. After getting it mounted in my place I can say that this was the easiest media installations I've ever experienced. Now keep in mind, I'm an old school projection TV / audio receiver person if you know what I mean. What they don't tell you is that this TV has a one connect box which you can plugin 4/5 HDMI capable systems. The samsung surround sound bar and woofer sweeten the deal. And for the love of god upgrade your Netflix subscription to ultra hd. There's not much ultra hd content from cable but with this TV's smart hub you have access to all those streaming services in one place (Amazon, Netflix, Youtube, Hulu) etc. Get an XBox one S if you want to game and watch ultra hd blue rays. For now I'm sticking with this one , and my poor comcast hd content. I got the 55 but the 65 is nice too depending on your room size. Also it's a bit nice mounted on the wall but some use the stand which is fine.

Great buy at current price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already own the 6300 and wanted to upgrade to HDR and wide color gamut. They are phasing out this model with the new models coming in. Picture is great, colors pop. You may have to do some tweaking to your liking but at 999.99 it is well worth the money. Get it while you can before they stop carrying this model.

Incredible TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already owned a wonderful 55" Samsung 1080p tv, didnt really expect to want a new tv for a while. MS decides to add HDR to their Xbox One S. So I decide to upgrade not expecting much. I am blown away by how great this looks, especially while playing a game that takes advantage of the HDR (FH3). Anyone who is buying an Xbox One S for HDR gaming or 4k movies needs this tv.

Top notch smart TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've owned several Samsung TVs in the past and always happy with their quality and design, so when it came time to buy a new TV this was the only brand we considered. This is a great looking set and easy to use. We love the apps so much we have stopped using Apple TV. We watch Netflix, Amazon and HBO and more. Very impressed. Happy customer.

Beautiful and flawed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There was so much potential with this TV... reviews were excellent, it looked amazing in store, and when I turned it on I was blown away by the clarity and rich colors... Fast forward a few weeks: There is slight but barely noticeable light bleed issues. The interface lags a lot and apps randomly crash. I have had to hard power cycle it half dozen times due to glitches. It doesn't play nice wireless display (win 10), it's not a network issue but software. The app selection is ridiculously terrible... just the basics... nothing else. (I'd rather have slightly reduced picture quality and androidTV, I'm looking at you SONY). Lastly, the smoothing ability glitches a lot (especially with high contrast areas). Overall I'm satisfied... not overly so, just enough to not return it. **I'm a particular kind of enthusiast, research maniac, and what not... sooo I'm analyzing the stuff out every purchase... If you are like me, don't buy this TV... If you are like most people... this TV is awesome!**

A definite 5 you cannot go wrong with this TV set.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a very particular tv customer. I have other Samsung TV sets that play very well. However, this one outperforms every tv I have ever seen before. The up scaling looks almost as good as the true 4K programs. The picture looks very realistic. I cannot visualize any tv that can out do this one. I certainly would recommend this tv to a friend.
