    Searched for a good priced 55" TV. Found this TV with a great price. Picture is crystal clear, sound is good for a TV but I have it run through surround sound system. This Samsung TV is a great buy!

    Slightly Disappointed

    Coming from an 8 year old Samsung plasma, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I found that you have to keep game mode on for modern HD shows and gaming, otherwise the picture stutters or lags. Can't crank up the picture settings.

    The picture quality is great, deep blacks, rich colors, good uniformity. Unfortunately this TV is full of little frustrations that combine to ruin the experience. A few examples: The user interface will lockup completely or become rather sluggish at least once a month. I'm not using any of the included apps nor do I have it connected to the internet, only using HDMI inputs. Firmware updates haven't fixed this. Unplugging the TV from AC power & plugging it back in resolves the issue temporarily, If I power on a device connected via HDMI it will switch to that input. There is no way to disable this feature. This behavior confuses my universal remote. Disabling HDMI-CEC does not prevent this. I have 2 computers & a chromecast attached to the TV. One computer for Live TV, DVR, & Movies, another PC for gaming. At least twice a week it changes the HDMI "Input Type" to PC. This disables game mode & resets all my picture settings. This also occurs anytime the display driver on a PC is updated. I can appreciate that many customers want the TV to configure itself but I would really like a way to lock the settings so I am not constantly needing to reconfigure the TV. The audio output resets frequently. I deliver the audio signal to my stereo via the optical output. This will frequently reset back to the TV speaker disabling the optical output. When I attach Bluetooth headphones then disconnect them, the audio output will also reset to the TV speaker. The hardware is great, the software is horrible, and Samsung tech support is useless. For a TV at this price point I expected more.

    Lack of blacks

    Had for a couple days now, and terrible viewing angles, terrible blacks, but good motion with minimal judder in bluray movies. Some blur is better than having judder, so its blur isnt too bad. Its the lack of deep blacks that may be the deal breaker... Granted, I stepped down from having an OLED ef9500 with great blacks, but my issue was that the LG TV has a real judder problem that ks8000 didnt. Plus the ks8000 wont display HDR with most of my 4ks via my new LG 4k player.

    Love the tv the only reason I deducted a point is for the odd simplistic remote. I've had it about a week and I still don't get it. The TV is amazing though.

    I bought this t.v. in an attempt to upgrade from a Samsung 50hu8550 uhd, 3d tv. After it was delivered, I tried to calibrate the settings and the picture was great in a room that has sliding glass patio door with a lot of light coming into the room, but that night the picture was fuzzy and the colors washed out. I tried everything I knew, read calibration settings suggested from the computer, chatted with Samsung which told me to set the back light to 7 and leave it there for 7 days so the tv would automatically correct itself. This sounded like a delay tactic to me since I have owned several Samsung tv's before and never had this problem. After exhausting every resource I could find, I decided to return it. Maybe I just got a lemon, at least according to the hundred of reviews I've read, but the 50hu8550 that I have has a better picture quality, day and night, than I could get with with the 55ks8000. I still think Samsung has the best tv in the market. I'll just wait awhile and try another one or I'm hearing good things about LG and yes even Vizo.

    4K HDR doesn't work streaming

    Actually this TV does not support HDR in 4K. For some reason the TV reduces the speed of your apps regardless of your incoming modem speed to below the necessary 25 MBPS needed for 4K HDR content. I have 100 mbps. And everything on the house receives it, including the TV... BUT it only allows Netflix, Amazon and even the XBOX to run below those speeds. So you can watch HDR content from Netflix and Amazon, however it's only in 1080. They do offer that but what's the point. The 4K titles without HDR do fine. I've been on the phone with Samsung, Netflix and my internet provider. No one can answer why. I've tried it with two of these TV's. I returned one. Now on the other hand if you go to the TV's browser it runs at the correct speed. Netflix has a speed test inside it's app if you go to the settings and that test is always below 18 mbps. Same thing with XBOX and Amazon. So it has to be the TV restricting the speeds to these apps for some reason. If anyone else can answer this please do. I would love to watch 4K HDR content like the TV advertises.

    Problems occur in game mode which was the main reason i got the TV. Terrible customer service at Samsung. If you don't use for gaming then great picture quality.

    Apps keep freezing...

    Good looking, but apps keep going to blank screens from time to time. Only fix is to unplug it for a minute or so let the memory forget everything and plug it back in. Not convenient at all.

    Not for wall mounting

    I do not have a review on the technical aspects of this tv, because it isn't designed for wall mounting. It has a proprietary cable hook up that is only usable with Samsung's included cable consolidation box. My living room has HDMI hook ups in the wall and couldn't use Samsung's "One Connect" cable doesn't work with that set up. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TV FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO WALL MOUNT THEIR TV.

    Bought this tv with good intentions about a month ago the first tv I got had a incredibly terrible picture there was lots of motion blur and despite talking to a couple people at Best Buy they insisted there was nothing wrong with the tv that it was instead my hdmi cables or my direct tv box and because I didn't purchase the geek squad protection they wouldn't look at the tv so I returned it and got another, now for the first week I was away on vacation with my family but when I came home to install it I found it had the same problem so I thought, fine its just my hdmi cables so after a couple of days of messing with the tv and getting a new box and hdmi cables I thought it would fix it but I was WRONG the problem persisted so I called up Best Buy but I was then told because the return policy on this second tv was only 15 days and it was the 17th since getting the tv there was nothing I could do I was stuck with the tv they insisted wasn't broken and then to add salt to the $1299.00 wound I found out they lowered the price to $999.99 so I called best buy once again to see if there was a way to get my $300.00 back and guess what there wasn't so after this $1299.00 mistake best buy has lost a long time customer and for the rest of my life I will never buy anything at Best Buy again.

    Terrible flaws on Samsung part

    I bought this TV specifically for the Xbox Scorpio and possibly the PS4 Pro in the future, let me start off by saying he's this is a gorgeous TV however Samsung is incompetent I soon found out about the wide spread "color separation" and "black screen flicker" issues very soon. I've had this tv about a week and when using game mode which is the only mode on this TV worth while in my opinion due to the super low input lag and nice response times this TV suffers from a bug in that mode that's basically tears the red and blue RGBs from the original display making a colorful ghosting effect, I've always experienced the TV killing the display by itself while the sound still continues, now yes this may sound like defects but I researched this and there's a very long forum on samsungs support page that has 25 pages of people with this issue along with another year long forum of the black screen issue and the issue started in October for people after a firmware update and the issue has yet to be resolved. At this point it's affected the 6300/8000/8500/9000/9500 series of Samsung 4k tvs if you plan to use this for gaming expect issues to happen it's like playing a lottery
