Don't buy if you use DirecTV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note I have the exact same issues with 2 Samsung TV's. Both this series. One 55" the other 65". So it's not a one off issue. I have DirecTV and use the built in Genie box. It makes the tv unusable. One if you use the remote that is included you litteraly cannot do everything. Second it crashes all the time. When you unplug and restart you loose all your saved favorites. The Genie will not even start half the time. When it does start and you are watching TV it crashes. When everything is working, and you have a separate universal remote it so slow it's not usable. 5-10 seconds to page down in the guide. Sadly the Genie (RVU) setup is the only way to get 4K over DirecTV. That is the reason I got these TV's. But it is not worth it.

DO NOT BUY this TV

This has happened sporadically, but very often, over the past two days, when watching cable TV. Totally unable to watch a football game yesterday or Saturday Night Live two nights ago. Also having problems with no sound on cable TV after switching back from Netflix. Samsung offering no help so far. Told me there was a firmware update, but I have get a thumb drive to install the 1.2 G update. (With Google Docs and Dropbox, who uses thumb drives anymore - so I had to order one from Amazon.) Check out the Internet; Samsung has been having a problem with TV screen going black at least as far back as 2009. I'm so upset, I'm out over $1,200.00 and can't watch my favorite NFL team today or cable tv in general. DO NOT BUY THIS TV!!!!

worked for 4 hours

Sat down for the evening with the wife and started to get strange echo on sound. set to factory settings and it got worst. turned off tv and back on then was ok 3 hrs later the picture went dark traced fault to backlight. No matter where you set the level 1 to 20 it lost 1 level every 2 seconds till level was at 0 even though the level indicator still showed what you set it to. spent the rest of the night with remote in hand and hitting the backlight level every 15 seconds to finish our movie. Set goes back to Best Buy in the AM. Hay I have a large library of 3D discs, why is 3D not available?

Only Lasted 4 Months

The unit worked perfectly and I was very satisfied with the picture and sound. The HDMI set up was a mistake as it requires it's own cord & module to connect USB in order to read whatever device you input to hopefully get easier assess to them. After 4 month's a 2" vertical black line covered the right side of the screen from top to bottom. It also has horizontal lines end to end across the entire bottom of the set. No wonder the seller pushed the warranty so intensely. I'm waiting for Samsung to get me an appointment, whenever that is. I should of purchased the Sony.

Does Not Include One Connect Cable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This tv does not use standard hdmi cables. It needs a One Connect cable which you have to buy on your own because they don't provide one. I regret this purchase. Tv isn't much good if you can't watch it.
