SAMSUNG TV died twice in 3 years - breaking up :(
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to purchase another Samsung LED TV after my first ES7000 3D died (after ~3 years of owning) just after my Geeksquad warranty expired. Feeling confident, I decided to try my luck again with Samsung, opting for the UN55KS8000FXZA. This had a beautiful screen, and 4K looked gorgeous. I purchased the 2 year warranty and just before the expiration, my controller box died. Thankfully, I was able to get a replacement under warranty. Purchased another year warranty thinking, its pretty unlikely I'll need it, but better safe than sorry. No joke, a few weeks after that warranty died, I suddenly get nice stripes on my screen. Wow. I guess thinner is not necessarily better. Samsung makes really nice displays, but I need better reliability on my televisions. I have to think these UHD 4K TVs are manufactured to last more than a few years. At an average of $1500 a pop, that's not something I consider disposable. Now I need to decide if this is worth fixing on my $ or just ditching Samsung and trying my luck on a Sony or LG. Argh!!!!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though this tv isn't officially a "quantum dot tv" it's still one of the best tv's out and at a pretty reasonable price. The true quantum dot LED tv's are out, but they're nearly twice the price of this one with the slightest bit of differences. Honestly, there's no better true 4k tv with HDR that I found that comes close to this one in terms of quality and features.
