Poor Samsung customer service and dead wifi unit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We were excited to get this TV at first. It looks great, with tons of software options/apps. But things went south very quickly. The wifi had connectivity issues, disconnecting every couple of days and freezing Netflix. I chatted and phoned with Samsung tech support 6-10 times on this issue. If you search, you will find that the wifi is a common problem on this set. I had to actively push customer support to get them to admit that the wifi unit is broken and to send a repair guy. Sure enough, when he arrived, he saw that the wifi unit was broken and replaced it. The gauntlet that I had to go through in customer support to get the repair done is absolutely unacceptable and is very clearly intentional (ie parts of their support website are broken, so as to prevent actually making it to the point of requesting a service technician). So far (one day in) the new wifi unit appears to be working. My next grievance is that in the smarthub (which is your only way of navigating channels/apps), Samsung has planted Ads and is force-feeding "recommended" channels, where there used to be a "My Favorites" section to easily jump to favorite channels. We have paid a lot of money for this TV. If we are being force-fed Ads and channel recommendations that we don't want, then I think that we should receive a discount. Samsung is being paid to place the Ads, and customers should get a cut of that money.

Issue with display on the screen

I did a self diagnosis test and it failed. Called best buy and they said its a Samsung product so need to call them as part of Samsung warranty. Will keep you posted what I hear back.

For the money I expected better

When I called them to get a price match they said it is 31 days since I purchased the item. I said yes what does that mean. They said if I had went to them under 30 days and told them then they would have credited my account the $100 difference. So, because it was day 31, one day after they could not make me a happy customer instead they made me never want to go back and also post this review. The TV itself is just average - I see nothing better than what I had before which was a 6 year old Samsung LED. Actually I don't mind the remote everyone slams. There's just no WOW factor with this TV and I expected that with all the great reviews. Best buy lost a customer today and a good one too.

Goes on and off after update
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this may help a few customers that purchase this tv but I encountered a major issue after performing the "update" it recommends after getting it set up. It kept turning on and off after the update. The solution (after waiting on hold for 30 minutes and never getting a response back when doing it through the tv) you have to unplug the tv when it is ON from the power source, let it sit for ONE HOUR, then plug it back in. This should reset the tv to stop doing that. If I would have known this issue exists, I would have never purchased the tv.

Very poor manufacturing technology

It was disappeared for few days then came back again. I talked to samsung customer service surprisely they refer to one of technician instead of solving the problem by samsung.I could not able to fix the problem till now.Very poor customer service from Samsung and very disappointing after spending 1000 bucks on good brand latest TV. Think Twice before buy

Bad TV From Box

All from Best Buy of Hattiesburg... picked up on 8/29/16 and brought home & put both TV's up against wall until our lights & Direct TV was connected in new home...open both boxes on 9/14/16 and the 55 inch was damaged at the very bottom of TV and therefore one side is blurry...contacted Best Buy and they will not issue me a new TV so it's like 1k down the drain... Cannot get anything resolve with this damaged 55 inch TV..

Don't buy

You will see a flicker about every 5-10 seconds, especially if you are watching an action movie. Avengers was almost impossible to watch. Be warned.

This TV is a lie!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Flat out lied about being HDR. I spoke with the salesman concerning what I was looking for. A TV with HDR for my PS4 and Xbox One S. I was recommended to this one for it's price point. I get the unit home and none of the consoles read it as HDR. Even when I activate the "HDR+" mode...nothing. To say I am upset is a understatement. I was trying to upgrade from a Sony that I had, not downgrade. Thanks for nothing Best Buy!
