I went into the store to by a cheaper model but, after looking at this TV I was very impressed by the picture and vibrant color of the screen. I was a little a little sceptical about the technology at first but after finding out a little more about the technology in this TV I went for it. Super easy set up it basically sets itself up and once I started watching movies I was blown away! With the curve movies truly do feel amazing and I can't wait to play games on it. If you're looking for an upgrade to a TV with HDR, 4k and quantum dot I would recommend this TV and I'm pretty picky when it comes to picture quality.

Love the TV, hate the remote. Wake up Samsung, and go back to a full sized remote. Don't fix what isn't broken. Beautiful picture, even using an OTA antenna. Apps load quickly thanks to the quad core processor, and it has a good selection of apps. This really isn't a "take out of the box, plug it in, and watch it" type of TV though. You do need to go into the Menu area and tweak things to your personal preferences. IMHO curved TV's are a gimmick, and I would have purchased the KS8000, but they don't carry that model where I purchased the TV (didn't purchase from BB). That being said, there's nothing wrong with it being curved. I just can't justify paying $100.00 more for a gimmick if you don't have to. All in all, this is an excellent TV. I'd highly recommend it to family and friends.

Been a vizio owner for quite a while and was happy with the 1080p 3D tv I had. I liked the 4K tvs, but nothing inspired me to upgrade until I spotted this tv. It is the most beautiful picture I have seen on a set in a long time. It outshines tvs twice the price. I LOVE the curve functional or not. It is viewable from all angles and just looks beautiful. Samsung smart tv os is fast and functional. 4K and hdr10 will make your jaw drop.....Samsung changed my views on tvs, brand does matter.

So after briefly taking a 7000 series for a test drive I had that classic "Is this everything I was looking for?" moment. So utilizing Best Buy's amazing return policy I took it back. In the time it had been since my original purchase this model was released. So obviously in store when 4k content is being played the 8500 looked great! Knowing that at home my content would consist of mostly 1080p material I could only hope that the "up conversion" built into the unit would make everything look better than my 7000. So upon getting this home I played standard HD content provided from my television provider I was pleasantly surprised. I know that this is not a full back lit display but it's ability to dim different zones It stands up quite well to it's $3k counterparts. So I decided it was time to demo a blu-ray and see how that looked- about 2 minutes into "the martian" I realized that I've never seen a tv look so amazing for this money. Absolutely stunning!!!! The reds of "Mars" were beautiful and the black bars at the top and bottom faded into the darkness of the room. Hands down the best blacks I have seen since my Pioneer Kuro Plasma. I stood in the middle of my room with my 7.2 home theatre sound and just had my jaw on the floor. Normally I would start tweaking the picture from the minute I got a new TV but this was perfect! I am going to have the Geek Squad calibrate this unit soon but my initial feeling is that at $1999 I was getting way more than the price reflects. If you are on the fence about whether or not stepping up into this mid/higher tier television just know that your dollar is well spent. To say that if something happened to the tv and would I replace it I answer with a very enthusiastic YES! Run, don't walk to Best Buy and pick up this thing! I only now am a bit curious how the Samsung UHD Blu-ray player will look. Oh, and the HDR is a real deal upgrade, totally worth the couple dollars. Kudos to Samsung and as always Best Buy gave a great price and made me feel extremely confident in my purchase. 24 months of 0% financing helped too knowing that I have a little more time to pay this off. Thank you Samsung and thank you Best Buy!!!!

Until about a week ago I had a Samsung 50inch 1080HD smart TV, that unfortunately broke. That TV was great but doesn't compare to this one that potential (Buyers) may be looking at. I bought the TV yesterday and had an incredibly easy time setting the unit up. The setup process is fast and easy with no issues whats so ever! All gaming consoles were recognized well, and TV/movies look absolutely amazing! There was absolutely no lag, and I've never experienced the quick response like this before. The new smart hub also brings a new, and improved experience to the TV and its general navigation of settings etc, as well as the new remote. This is the first time that I have experienced 4K, and have nothing bad to say about it! This TV is great, although having a higher price. It's definitely worth spending the little bit of extra money. Amazing Product would recommend to anyone!

This Tv is in the high end of 4k tvs but it's well worth it. While many 4k tvs are coming down in price and offering great visuals, only a few of them have true HDR and this one is one of the best for the price. The tv worked great at watching movies and playing games. The curved characteristic provides a good immersion and while hard to notice sometimes it is still very stylish.

I had been waiting for the 2016 models to come out before deciding which 4K TV to purchase and I'm glad I did. We had been looking at the JU6700 and at the last minute we decided to upgrade to the KS8500 due to the aesthetics of the edgeless design. I'm not sure if the curve makes any difference in the picture or viewing angles but our TV sits in a corner so the curve looks great. The only downside is that this TV only has HDMI and digital optical out, no RCA jacks, so I had to upgrade my surround sound receiver to an HDMI capable one. I can't complain too much because the HDMI surround sound is fantastic and works with the TV remote! My wife was not enamored with the smart remote so I bought an AA59-00784C Replacement Remote on Amazon for $10 and that one works great also.

Ultimate picture quality and easy set up, the sharpness and colors are astonishing! Add a K-550 soundbar with subwoofer and rear speakers and the sight and sound will blow your mind ! For the money, there isn't a better unit available ! On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it an 11.

We purchased the 55" 8000 to replace our Plasma TV. Upon doing some research we found that we needed to buy the 8000 in order to match the brilliant color of our plasma set. The 8000 does not disappoint! The color is not only as brilliant as plasma it has superior clarity. It's like getting your new prescription eyeglasses and looking thru them for the first time. Wow I can see again! The detail is that amazing! We also purchased the Samsung sound bar 3.1 and the Samsung BD-J6300 Blue Ray with 4K upscaling to go with it. You really do need to add some kind of sound system to it to make it complete and the sound bar makes it so much better. Now we feel like we have the complete theatre experience right in our family room! We are not technical and even needed to have the geek squad take away the old one and install the new but we know a perfect picture when we see one! Can not find a thing wrong with it! Love it!

Let me start off by saying that I DID return this TV... PROS: Great colors, great sound (for such a thin TV), great picture. What more can be said? 99% of people would be blown away. It easily will outshine most TVs on the market. I think most people will be very, very happy. THE NOT-SO-PRO: Okay, so here's why I returned this TV. BUILD QUALITY. Though this TV is absolutely gorgeous to behold, there is one issue which will bug the heck out of that 1% of us. Due to somewhat of a design flaw, the back panel does not stay fully connected to the front screen. There appears to be tape holding the corners together, so over time (as the TV heats up, cools down, heats up, etc.) this tape begins to give and the edges around the corners begin to "open up" revealing (and letting in) light. Unfortunately for me, I noticed this after making my purchase. After doing a little online research, I realized this was a more widespread problem. Again, let me clarify that for most people this would probably be a nonissue. Most people probably wouldn't even notice. However, I worry about the longevity of the TV and whether or not the corners would hold together after a year or two. If you spend $1000, you want your investment to be long-term! I have a return scheduled, but I'm considering asking for another set. Maybe I'll get lucky and the next one won't have the issue? Either way, if it happens to you, don't say I didn't tell you so!

Purchased this to replace a 4 year old Panasonic plasma 50" tv. Right away the bright crystal clear display was a drastic improvement. The set up was super easy as I don't have any form of cable or digital television service. Upon connecting my HDMi devices (appleTV, Xbox One S, 4k bluray player) the tv recognized all the devices and input the source names automatically. Since I knew the internal speakers were weak before purchase I bought a new Yamaha Aventage 760 AV receiver and the Definitive Technology 5.1 surround system to pair with it. While 4k content is still limited at this time, HD content was crisp and visually pleasing, Netflix streamed directly through the TV offers some content in 4k and nature documentaries blew me away with the clarity and detail of image reproduction. Over all, TV is fantastic when 4k movies, shows or gaming is available, even regular 1080p seems clean and clearer but that could be due to upscaling from the Yamaha. Very pleased with this purchase and will be looking forward to replacing the 65" in my living room in the next year or 2 with yet another Samsung!

I bought this TV about a year ago when it was $1,500.00 at the time. I thought it was pretty expansive but after extensive research and positive reviews across the consumers and experts I have decided to go ahead and buy it. 9 month later I still have no regrets in buying it. I love this TV, its stylish, easy to use and the picture quality is fantastic! One thing that worried me the most is that TV looked fragile but surprisingly pretty durable and has survived our recent move to a different home. Me, my wife and kids use it everyday, from watching movies, binge watching shows on Netflix and playing video games. Without doubt great versatile TV!

This is an absolutely fabulous TV set. I am somewhat of a videophile and my jaw drops when I watch the set at home. The picture quality is just outstanding and I like the curve effect. My only reservations are (1) the sound quality on all TVs of this generation are poor as I think they assume you will use a home theater system and (2) there are too few ports as they assume everything is hdmi in and one optical audio out -- only,

I got this TV for a week and its awesome. Overall the picture quality is amazing with the 4K SUHD/ quantum Dot Display for the 2016 model. I watch sports all the time from the NBA playoff, NHL,NASCAR, and MLB on my HOPPER3 4K No problem on the 240 HZ. Motion Rate and watching 4K movies on Netflix this is an amazing Curve TV. Thanks Samsung and Best Buy for an awesome deal.

Normally don't review products, but this TV is fantastic!! Only 2 curved TV's available....Samsung and LG and.I am a TV addict, . While I would love an OLED from LG, you can't beat the picture of the Samsung 8 (8500) series curved TV for the price. Ordered on Wednesday before Thanksgiving and they delivered Friday You will not be disappointed with the quality of the picture for the price!! My wife says best TV ever!!! It also pairs very well with other Samsung products. Purchased a Samsung 4K Blu-Ray player, and it paired with our previous purchased Samsung sound Bar and Samsung phone.

The Samsung series produces one of the best pictures of any SUHD with excellent contrast, deep black levels and superb color and video processing

Clearest picture I've ever seen, and seamless setup. Only downside is that the remote won't work with a sonos sound bar.

I absolutely LOVE this T.V it has amazing color and speed, the clarity is wonderful I can see the pores on every actor and details of every movie or scene all the tiny details you would not normally see or even know exist. I would recommend this T.V especially if you like cooking, sports, action and even cartoons.
