I have had 2 Samsung TV's in the past and they catered to my needs - Durable , good picture quality and I could install many apps (CNN, MSNBC Sports, Telemundo etc.). When i bought this TV , I figured out that it has very limited apps and basically i cannot really watch much content . Question to Samsung : Is there any issue with your Smart Apps platform that the App developers are not releasing Apps for this TV /Platform ? (we are in Mid of 2020 and still no apps ? ) So now i am spending even more money to buy ROKU . Disappointed :-(

Returned. Did not like the remote. The remote had buttons only, no numbers and as a elderly person I prefer a "normal" type remote ... aka with numbers

It's bad when you have to use closed caption to know what is being said in a program but really bad with closed caption doesn't work at all. If you buy this TV be prepared to up grade the sound system.

I will start this review by stating this TV may have been bad from the factory per best buy employees but...continuing on. When the professional reviews say it doesn’t get very bright and the viewing angle is narrow, that is an understatement on both parts. The total picture quality decent when head level with the TV and in the exact center of the screen while viewing. Any off center made the opposite of the TV dark and it was grainy most of the time, no matter where you stood. Not crisp view at all. I have professionally installed several 100, if not in the 1000s of TV and a past job was a Network/AV tech and this was the worst TV I’ve ever watched. I now understand why the 7 and 8 series of Samsung is very cost friendly, won’t ever buy another. Save a little more and buy the Q series, or go with another brand with better ratings.

I bought this TV on August 13, 2020 and immediately noticed a severe lip synch issue. I have been in contact with Samsung repeatedly since that time, but the issue still hasn't been resolved. The TV is connected to a Vizio sound bar via an optical cable. I've had two other non-Samsung TV's connected to that soundbar and never had an issue. I mention this because the Samsung tech said that the Vizio sound bar is "incompatible" with the TV. I indicated that the lip synch issue occurs when using the TV speaker itself, so they then said the problem is with the cable box. Again,I've been using Cox as my provider and have used the Contour box successfully with other TV brands. Samsung finally sent one of their authorized technicians to investigate the problem. The tech tried various settings and was unable to resolve the problem. Today, a Samsung tech called and indicated that they are going to send another technician to replace the motherboard. I've done extensive internet research regarding the lip synch issue on Samsung TV's, and it seems to be a common issue that hasn't been resolved. Apparently, having the motherboard replaced is part of the script that Samsung is following in a vain effort to fix the problem. Customers who have had the motherboard replaced have indicated that it doesn't solve the problem. I have the feeling that Samsung is doing everything possible to drag out their attempt to fix the TV until the warranty expires, at which point I will be stuck with it. Just to clarify the situation: The lip synch problem occurs on all cable channels, on all apps such as Netflix and Prime Video, on all DVD's, and when using either the soundbar or the TV speaker.

I would have given the product a 4 star rating if it was not for the average sound quality. In addition, we constantly need to adjust the picture because it is too dark.

      Nicebutwouldthinktwice:

Thank you for purchasing the TU8000 TV and for your review. I am sorry that you are not completely satisfied with its sound performance.

You may select from several Sound Modes and advanced settings to meet your personal preferences. Press the Home button on your remote, and then navigate to Settings > Sound > Sound Mode

You can also customize the sound with Expert Settings. Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings

If the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright you can try Dynamic Picture Mode, or manually adjust the Brightness settings to your liking.

Dynamic Picture Mode will make pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to: Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic

Or manually adjust the Brightness and other settings to your liking. Press the HOME button on your remote, then navigate to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings

You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.

Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV, according to the ambient light level, to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Ambient Light Detection

Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings>Support>Software Update.

You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

I hope this helps to improve your sound and picture. Should you need further assistance with settings adjustments, please contact Samsung Customer Support.

Bought this TV on April 7th, 2021 and 12 days later on April 18th a line appears across the screen up top and the screen jumps every 2 seconds. Im returning it tomorrow. Spoke to geek squad as I purchased the 2 year plan and they say its some type of control board. I did love the clarity of the TV, but issues barely 2 weeks into owning it is highly disappointing. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this

I'm not happy with this purchase for several reasons. 1. I find the Samsung application is very obnoxious. I don't want autoplay of Vevo or anything else. 2. I have to sit directly in front of the TV to see the picture clearly, sitting on the periphery the picture is very bad 3. Overall I don't like the picture quality - I may be able to improve it by fiddling with the settings EVEN MORE. 4. The remote has no lights so I cannot operate the remote without turning on the lights in the room.

Everything was going fine until a couple days ago. The control remote stopped working, it was lighting every time I pressed a button however not working (I.e., not able to turn off, lower volume, change channels, etc). Not sure if it is the TV or the control. Had to unplugged the TV in order to turn off. I don’t even have a month that I bough the TV. I left the box for 2 weeks just in case I had to return, I threw away before this happen. :(

So these tvs are notorious for blacklight bleed and mine is no different. Stay away from Samsung tvs, they look amazing dont get me wrong but they almost all have this issue and now I can't return it. Imagine watching a movie and there being bright lights in the corner. When its light in your room it's unnoticeable...at night its impossible to ignore. Just seriously disappointed.
