Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We were hoping this unit would. be the equal of the Samsung TV we purchased a number of years ago, but the speaker is much smaller apparently, which means I'll have to purchase a soundbar. Also the older unit can be turned on or off whether or not the remote is to is not aimed at the TV. Small things to be sure and a disappointment, but maybe we should have asked the sales representative before making the purchase.

We appreciate your feedback on the DU8000 TV. We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your experience. There are several volume features you can adjust, which may improve your audio experience.
1) Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input. Go to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume.
2) Adaptive Sound automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source. Go to Settings> All Settings> Sound> Sound Mode> Adaptive Sound.
3) Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > All Settings> Sound > Sound Mode.

DO NOT PURCHASE Crystal UHD

The picture is very very dark, low light scene is fully black -Samsung tech support came to the house said "YES THERE IS A PICTURE ISSUE" and needs to be elevated to SSG engineering. Took snapshots of the picture issue etc. Samsung says no issue ... I have always purchased from Best Buy for my Samsung items - maybe it is time to switch. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS

Thank you for your purchase and feedback on the picture and sound quality of th DU8000 TV. I have a few setting adjustments that may improve your experience.
For optimal motion image performance, you may want to adjust the picture clarity setting by going to Settings > All Settings> Picture > Expert Settings > Picture Clarity Settings.
- Off: Picture Clarity Settings will always be off
- Auto: Picture Clarity Settings will automatically activate and deactivate based on the type of program being watched
- Custom: Allows custom adjustments and settings to be used. By selecting the Custom option, you can access these advanced settings for Judder Reduction, LED Clear Motion, and Noise Reduction.
For a sharper sound, you can change the Sound Mode by going to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Sound Mode.
You can also customize the sound with Expert Settings by going to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Expert Settings.

It's going in the garbage

Best buy came to do install last month- it never connected - the only thing working is cable box. I got on phone with samsung - still cant get smart tv apps - spent hours with spectrum.. everything else works in my house so it's not the internet. This TV is going in the garbage and I'm never buying Samsung again.

Bad product- Do not purchase

After sometime it started to make an intermittent ticking noise when turned off. Samsung sent a tech to replace a part . That did not resolve the issue. Samsung is going to send another technician out to take a look. Useless product. Samsung should take it back and issue me a refund. Very dissatisfied with this TV

Backlight bleed

Appears this is a known issue. Samsung's QC has significantly missed its marks within the past few years.

We appreciate you sharing details of the sound issue you’re experiencing on your DU8000 TV. There are a few troubleshooting steps I recommend trying:
1) Please check the volume control of your TV, and then check the volume control of any external devices (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between any external device and the TV and then try the cable connection again.
2) Set Sound Output to the TV Speaker by going to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Sound Output.
3) Check whether Digital Output Audio Format is set to Pass-Through by going to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Format > Auto.
