The apps disappear sometimes and I had to re-download and then reactivate. That was a little annoying. Also, I can't stream movies directly from websites due to lack of memory but apparently none of the smart TVs are capable of that yet.

Great picture quality, very sleek looking TV

Considered similar priced models from Panasonic and LG before settling in on this model. Strong smart TV features, built in WI-FI and the sleek look were the primary reasons for deciding on this model. Very nicely packed – easy to unpack with little help from a second person. You have to mount the stand. Printed document directed me to the online video – which was helpful. Setup was quite easy – series of questions and menu choices guided me through it – easily added to the wireless network, programmed channels, etc – all in about 10 minutes of time. The TV figured out it needed a software update, did that in few minutes. Set the picture mode to movie and scaled back the contrast – then the picture was more to my liking. Couple of days later, with the help of this link(http://reviews.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/samsung-lcd-tv/samsung-es6500-picturesettings.html) further adjusted the picture settings. The picture setting needs to be done for each source (and Smart TV). There are no global picture settings – this is a pain or a boon – depending on your needs. Overall picture quality is great. If you do change the individual picture control settings, you better know what you are doing – if you want good picture. It is easy to change things and screw up the picture quality. Smart TV functions quite well. We used Netflix and YouTube for most of our streaming. Netflix interface is good, but not as good as the interface on Wii. In about couple of weeks of moderate usage, I had YouTube crash couple of times, causing the TV to restart. The biggest pain in using the Smart TV content is the keyboard entry. Mainly used the onscreen keyboard using the remote. There are 2 different version of this is presented depending on the app that you are using. Once is fully QWERTY and other is the 10 numeric key, much like a telephone keypad entry. Wish it was always the QWERTY mode. If you intend to use the TV for anything more than occasional web / YouTube browsing, searching and viewing – you definitely need a wireless/Bluetooth keyboard. I was able to easily connect/activate my YouTube account on the TV and used the PC to search and add videos to the playlist and favorites. This reduces the dependency of keyboard to some extent. After couple of weeks, took the TV off the stand and mounted on the wall with Sanus VLL10 mount. The mounting screw holes are 15mm deep, keep this in mind when selecting the mounting hardware screws. The M8 screws with the VLL10 mount are either 16mm or 45mm. Though I had to use the 45mm, I think a 35mm or 30mm, combined with the 14mm spacer would have further reduced the gap between the wall and the TV. All the main connection ports on the back of the TV are at 90degree to the screen – this poses problems to mount is flush against the wall. To keep a low profile mounting, with little space between TV and wall, I used 90degree (right angle HDMI cables) and right angle coaxial/F adapter. If you need to use both the HDMI ports on the back, you need to use one 90degree and the other 270degree. And the 90degree cable will block the component input. Most people are likely to use only one HDMI cable – so this should not be a problem. The 3D seem quite good – have not had prior experience with other TVs to compare. But at about 8-10ft away, with 4 people seated comfortably spread across, all of us got great 3D effect. The included glasses use button type batteries that are supposed to last many hours of viewing. Pairing the glasses to the TV is a jiffy. The sound is average – sufficient for a moderate sized room with large doors or opening to other areas. We use it a casual TV view environment. You may want external speakers if you use it more serious/critical viewing environment. The remote is quite average – hood feel to hold and use. Though backlit, it is not bright enough to see. Included manuals – including the e-manuals in the TV – are just about sufficient. Is not detailed for serious users’ needs. This is a major disappointment for me. Overall, highly recommended.

TV Is Great Picture Quality is amazing In 3d and 2d i use it for Gaming On Playstation 3 With Crysis 2, and black ops, The picture is sharp and very or no ghosting, love the fact that you can easily convert on the fly 2d to 3d, another great feature is you can easily share all your content from pc or phone to tv stream it or any dnla device, i use my samsung tablet as a keyboard and remote for it also, another great thing is back up my blue-ray content and i havent come across cinavia problems like you do on ps3 and blue ray players release after jan 1 2011, just format usb flash to fat32 create folders for movies, photos, music and bing bang is all there it even plays mkv files straigth from usb, for the people that give it bad reviews i feel sorry that you have had isues with it, as for me the tv performs great, the only down side is that the component cables are straigth on the back and the extra 2 hdmi ports are also located on back i wish they would just leave it on the side because not all tv mounts have that clearance, even though is very thin and weigths hardly nothing, is like putting a art painting on wall with a frame.

    Superb quality - super functional

The picture and high definition on this model = top notch. It's nothing short of the quality we've come to expect from Samsung. I have three other Samsungs in this size, they continue to get better with each release. We watch a lot of action, sports, dark sci-fi and this picture is superior. It's easy to modify the LED motion settings to suit your preference or switch the filters for various movies. The remote is very well laid out so everything is easy to get to without digging through gobs of menus. Setup is a breeze, even the Internet connection was quick via wi-fi. The first time you turn it on, the wizard hits all the critical points in a matter of moments, took about 3-4 minutes start to finish. The typical Samsung 3-d glasses that are bundled are OK. Non rechargeable but work well. I added a couple of pair from Samsung that have rechargable batteries and all of them work great, converting normal 2D movies/TV to 3D works pretty well. If you like 3D then you'll enjoy this model. As with most users I find the audio a little weak. While the quality is plenty good, the volume needs to be up 40-70% in larger rooms. This isn't due to less than standard speakers, it's merely because the chassis is so thin. In many places the chassis is less than an inch thick, there is hardly any room for accoustic amplification. For me it's fine since I use surround. I also think it's fine if you have it in a room that's less than 20 foot deep or wide. Short of running a vaccum cleaner or being hard of hearing, it's very tolerable. I often watch without the external surround sound on. Internet Apps are spot on. I use Netflix on our Wii, PS3 and Sony Blu-Ray players. The Netflix version that runs on the Samsung is top notch, as good as the PS3 version. Large fast menus, way better forward and reverse controls too. The central Samsung HUB screen is very useful and well designed, quick access to everything. Still plenty of features that I have not gotten too yet. Overall, this television rocks. I'm a technology junkie with high standards and this model delivers. I've been running it for a couple of months, thus far it's only needed to be rebooted twice durng viewing, and that was under heavy use with the apps following software updates. No compliants from me as it's exceeded my expectations. The only thing it's missing is the built in camera with the ability to interact without the remote. I couldn't justify that cost increase based on the fact that the remote has so many single click features that would take too much time to do via voice or hand gestures. I love gadgets but not enough to jump the price up that high without a true need for it.

Word of warning, turn off most of the advanced picture motion features. It was causing the picture to "stutter" and not move as smoothly. Turning them all off fixed everything. I was ready to return it, until I turned everything off. Anyways, great picture, and better sound (still not great) than my 46" Samsung LED (a few years old) that got moved upstairs. Super thin frame and it looks great. I see no issues with fast moving images. I have not tried the 3D yet, but this is full HD in 3D so I imagine it will look good. My old set had 4 HDMI and a VGA connector (which I used all of) and this only has 3 HDMI (so I need to use the component connection for the cable box)...workable but not ideal. Probably won't use too much of the Smart TV stuff but it connected to my network easily, and I guess it's nice to have. 4 out of 5 (close to 5 star picture)

I looked at the Sharp, Sony and LG and selected the Samusung 6500 based on the picture quality and the price. Colors appear very natural I did not notice any blurring effects during the action sequences or any ghosting effects during the display of only dark images. My four year old Sony Bravia LCD picture quality was starting to degrade and I was interested in a Smart TV . Set up was easy since I only had to plug in Two HDMI cables and 1 digital audio cable. Connection to my home wireless network was a breeze it located the network on the first try. I would suggest the wireless keyboard, typing in a URL was very time consuming . I changed the sound setting to Movie and Picture setting to Natural, I think it is an improvement over the standard setting. If you buy this TV you will not be sorry.
