I liked most of this TV perfectly.. The PICTURE settings were unstable & unpredictable and simply do not stay set. I applied an update hoping this would change. Hard time telling whether it is a defect or a design flaw....

    Great picture, confusing apps

The best thing about this TV is its absolutely stunning HD picture quality with gorgeous, life-like colors. The remote is descent and is fairly easy to use. The TV is easy to setup, not very heavy, and comes with a good, solid stand. Samsung's setup screens are attractive and easy to use. However, the Smart Hub, apps and web browser need a lot of refining. Each app has a completely different way to navigate. Some, such as YouTube, load very slowly and sometimes not at all. There are some apps, such as VUDU, that do load quickly and have much nicer menus. The web browser is, for the most part, disappointing. It loads slowly and often crashes when displaying an embedded video, sending you back to the home page. Other embedded videos will not load at all. One more annoyance is use of a wireless keyboard. The Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 (LGTK02U) can easily be paired with the TV, however, it is only useful for the web browser -- the apps do not recognize it. For the apps you must "type", hunt-and-peck style, from the remote.

Fantastic Picture and lots of features

We did a lot of comparison shopping and reading reviews on line before purchasing this TV. We found most of the 55" TV's that Best Buy was promoting had 3D, which we were not interested in and did not want to pay for. (A salesman told us that the 3D TV's were better TV's even for regular viewing, but based on my research on line I don't think that is true). So we were excited to find this TV which had the features we were looking for (LED, multiple inputs, refresh rate, etc) without 3D. Picture quality is fantastic with our free over the air HD signal, and is pretty good even for our cable which is not HD. We watch mostly football and occasionally other sports (Olympics) and we have been super happy with the quality of the picture, even in fast motion scenes. The connectivity of the TV to the internet works well (wireless) and the Samsung "All Share" works well for connecting to our home computers to show photos, videos, and listen to music through the TV. The remote is simple and straight forward, with lighted buttons and large enough to easily use. The speakers were not bad, but we improved the sound significantly by buying a Samsung Blue Ray Home Theatre system (inexpensive model that we got for $219). The combination of the super size and clear picture along with the surround sound has gotten us started watching movies, which has been an enjoyable addition to our weekends. I have always had Sony TV's and audio equipment before so was a little hesitant to try the Samsung. Based on the reviews I read and our experience so far, I think the Samsung is a better value and possibly a better TV than the Sony's we looked at. I have not utilized all of the features of the TV yet, but so far (6 weeks) we like everything about the TV and are still thrilled with our purchase.

    Awesome TV!!

Let me start by saying this is a great TV!! I have a 40" LCD Sony Bravia in my bedroom that I have had for over a year. Still to this day I found myself viewing it and saying to myself what a great picture!! So when it was time to replace my 2002 36" Toshiba tv for the living room I had my mind made up that it had to be another Sony Bravia and nothing else would do ( some of my friends call me the biggest Sony product cheerleader...lol) but once I started doing my Sony research the price for the size I wanted was a bit out of my lane. so I then stepped out of the box to see what was the next best thing other than Sony. I kept hearing people talking about the amazing quality of Samsung LED Flatscreen Televisions. I started doing my research and the first thing that caught my attention was the price was cheaper for the size that I was looking for with the Sony. so I started doing my research on the internet and walking into stores to see the picture and compare. I will say that at least 98.8% of the online reviews were very favorable from customers who purchased one. I waited until the Blk Friday event at Best Buy store and saw the Samsung 55" LED Smart TV on sale for $1,099.48 less than what the regular retail price of $1, 599.00 was for. I purchased it on Saturday a day after Blk Friday for the sale price. Got it home connected it turned on and all i can say what a amazing experience... The picture was breathtaking on HD channels, WHEW!! and yes it does give my 40" Sony Bravia a go for it's money!! I will tell anyone who is shopping around for a great tv there is no need to look any further especially for the price If you are fortunate to catch it on sale!!

So pleased with this TV. I trust Samsung as we have purchased many large Samsung products and are always very pleased. I went into the store to purchase a 46" but am SO glad I got this 55". It's not too big for our room. I don't notice any change in picture quality at different angles. Internet is a nice feature although I haven't really utilized it much. Remote is user friendly too.

After several years of saving money to make this purchase, along with a home theater system- we were prepared to spend more on our TV. I think we were in the store for a couple of hours looking at all the TV's and asking many questions. We were somewhat prepared, considering that our oldest son is a Techie Freak, but we wanted to make sure that we had all our questions answered. We are very satisfied with our purchase- more than I can possibly explain here! The picture quality is unreal, and the slim design is fabulous. We're also delighted that it's a smart TV. Bottom line, this is alot of TV for the price. You will absolutely be thrilled:)

We've only had it a couple of weeks but the picture has been great and it was extremely easy to setup. We're using our regular Direct TV box and the picture looks good. Will upgrade to HD but for now it works good. Some shows on TV do have a video tape look like you would see in soap operas. I've watched several football games and have had no issue with blur. I purchased the smart TV because I wanted the apps built in. When shopping other brands I found that Samsung had the most apps available. I haven't had any real issues so far except that the Amazon App won't run because it says the TV software needs to be updated. The TV says there are no updates available. Still working on this. The day after I purchased the TV it went on sale for $400 less than what I purchased it. Best Buy refunded the difference with no issue.

    Flawless Despite 2 Major Flaws

    Posted .

It's no secret that these newer/larger LED TV's produce poor sound quality. Strike one, but definitely not a deal breaker as a decent sound-bar and/or surround sound system will surely correct that. Unfortunately, another huge flaw is the Samsung Browser, which I will go into more detail in a moment. I truly wish somebody would have posted a review about this significant defect in which I could have read before my purchase! Although this TV is considered a "Smart TV" and I admit streams Netflix beautifully; there is something I need to share with everybody. The Samsung Browser does not support adobe flash player. Adobe Flash Player is required in order to stream content from Xfinity TV, Hulu, and other online websites we normally view from our computers. I thought to myself...this is great; with a smart TV, I can catch up on all of the TV shows I've missed because the internet connectivity will allow me to stream them straight from the website to my new Samsung 55" LED Smart TV...AND what's even better... I will not need to purchase Comcast cable or Direct TV. Much to my disappointment, Samsung support has informed me that the Samsung Browser does not support adobe flash! Think that's bad? Guess what - "YouTube" also requires adobe Flash player so even though "YouTube" is advertised with this product as instant content...sadly you will not be able to view anything on "YouTube" either! I'm a diehard Samsung fan so I still gave this TV a rather high rating. However, had I known of the adobe flash player defect ahead of time, I probably would have purchased the Sony 55" LED Smart TV. Hope this review helps at least 1 person out there as I had spent hours and hours reading reviews before my purchase and would have loved to have stumbled across the Samsung Browser conflict with adobe flash player.

I was watching this model for several months before I decided to make it a purchase. I visited the store several times to compare the different add-ons among the higher models. I read both online reviews and customer reviews just to get an idea of the feed back. The experts don't seem to be totally happy with any make or model, and can't agree on much, so I took this into consideration. After watching the web for the best price I went for the 6100 series once the it dropped and I knew that I felt comfortable with it's overall picture quality. The standard picture seems average, but this may be due to my TW cable feed. Higher end models have upgraded features, but I didn't feel they were worth the extra several hundred dollars. The HD picture quality is stunning on this model, sound is average on ALL these LED TVs, and it was very easy to set-up. I couldn't notice the difference in a higher CMR or faster processor speed, so didn't think it was necessary at this point. If I want 3D I will get a compatible DVD player for less $$. It won't be my last TV, but it is definitely the best I have bought to date.

Samsung is the best in HDTV's

This TV and all it's features was a steal for its price on sale. My wife was skeptical of spending $1000+ on a TV, but when the rep showed her all of its features, she was sold. Samsung, in my opinion, has the best HDTV's on the market and this slim LED model only uses $12 worth of electricity a year! The apps that are available on this Smart TV are great and abundant, plus the connectivity between other Samsung devices (i.e. Galaxy S3, Galaxy Tab, etc.) is practialy seamless. The sharpness of the picture is absolutely fantastic. I haven't done so yet, but I may look in to getting the TV calibrated although it is kind of pricey. This TV has 3 HDMI ports, which was perfect since I have two game consoles and a HDTV cable box. The TV also has several USB ports so I was able to hook-up a web camera and a wireless keyboard & mouse combo at the same time. The web camera is purchased separately and you need to ensure it is compatible with the TV. I got the Logitech MK520 wireless keyboard & mouse, which was a great purchase since they both wirelessly connect to the same USB port. This combo also works very well when web browsing on the TV, which is amazing on a 55 inch screen!

Picture is the best on the market in my opinion. Sound is fine, but anyone with this TV should seriously invest in some surround audio of some sort. The internet and smart features of this smart TV always seem to load very slow. I usually just run Netflix from my PS3 though so it's not a big deal. As mentioned above, updates seem frequent (or atleast just untimely for me). To be clear though, it doesn't interrupt watching TV just to update, it's only when you try and access the Smart browser. I had to change a few options to slow down the refresh rate so it doesn't feel like the picture moves so quickly and non-fluid like (or soap opera look). Overall it's a great TV, and I would definitely recommend it.

Bought this TV as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend and she absolutely loved it. I did a lot of comparisons between different Samsung models as well as other brands and found that this TV would give me an amazing picture, good sound, and smart features all for a reasonable price. Also the dynamic contrast ratio is actually 6,000,000:1. I don't know why best buy lists it as 5,000,000:1.
