I was drawn to this TV primarily by Samsung's well-known reputation for fantastic HDTV picture and features, and this model does not disappoint. The picture is vivid, with excellent white/black contrast. Backlit LED. If you are like me, and have zero interest in 3-D, this is the TV to get! Samsung proves yet again why they are one of the leaders in HDTV quality. Only minor negatives: Did a software update, and after the update all of my picture settings were reset. Do yourself a favor - if you have a software update to do, document your picture settings BEFORE you update. Only other negative is that many of the Samsung apps do not work for this TV (yet) as most of their apps have not been updated to work with 2012 models - as of this review date, HBO GO is a no-go!

Right out of the box the picture is amazing, we tweeked the picture a little to suit our taste. The clarity and sharpness of the picture is great. It even makes old movies and tv shows look new. The internet is easy to connect to thanks to wi-fi. The apps are a little slow to load but they work just fine. The tv is very light, easy to move around. 3 hdmi and a couple of usb ports are plenty to connect a blu-ray, xbox, ps2 etc. I bought this on sale right before Christmas, one of the best electronic purchases I have made in recent years.

The picture is spectacular, and very little differentiates it from the 7000 or 8000 series to my eyes. And since I refuse to wear glasses to watch TV (3D) this model has the best value. This is a replacement for the D6000 that had ... a mishap. I run the sound out to a surround system so I can't comment on the quality of the sound itself. But one enhancement I notice from the D6000 is that with the audio synch the ES6100 will play sound through the TV until the surround is available (mine takes 15-20 seconds to start up). On the old model I had no sound during that time. The app center also boots up remarkably faster than the old model as well. Navigating around used to be a pain because every selection took so long to register but now its close to as fast as navigating around on a tablet. I really enjoy Samsung's fitness app. Not perfect, but for a free program it gives you a lot. On the bad side, there is no VGA port. I have an older laptop that I used to stream movies from but I can no longer get a video signal to the TV since the laptop has no HDMI. Not a dealbreaker, but it would have been nice.

We did a lot of shopping first. We read dozens of reviews of this and other Smart TVs. Finally landed on the UN55ES6100. We have owned a 42" Samsung for three years and love it! So we knew we couldn't go wrong with Samsung. The picture quality is fabulous. Set up was easier than I thought it would be. We love linking to our email and web browsing. As YouTube fans we couldn't be happier. We added a mouse and keyboard which makes for easier browsing. This is a great TV. Our only criticism is the connections on the back which are difficult to access now that we've hung it on the wall. We've owned it for almost a month now and feel we made the perfect choice.

After some research, I got my dad to purchase this model in June; he loves it. The tv was so great, I had to get my own. One of the best pictures around, and I only have a HD antenna hooked up! Easy to set up and user friendly. Only drawback; the speakers. However, I had an amplifier I hooked it up to and it rocks the house. More apps would be good, but I am not picky. Very satisfied with this TV; would highly recommend.

I have been looking and waiting to buy my first LED tv. I have been watching this one for a while. I got it all set up and it is freakin awesome. I love this tv. It was so easy to set up and it is very user friendly. The picture is great. I would definitely recommend this tv. The cost was great and I couldn't be happier.

I have felt like I am in the room with the show I am watching the picture is so freaking amazing. I have never seen anything like it. I can not complain about the performance of the tv. I bought the 51 plasma tv Samsung and the sound and the picture kept me wondering what is was going to do (example) lighter and darker picture sound was loud at times and silent at other times picture was not so pretty. This was my first choice but my boyfriend said no on the cost I had the Samsung 51 in Plasma for 2 days and went back to the original tv I wanted 55 in LED Smart TV if you watch alot of tv you might as well get what you want and will enjoy. I had a 50 in Plasma Philips TV until it died on 4/22/12 bought in 7/25/07. I still love my Philips but the samsung now is my favorite one.

Great picture, slim design,love the smart tv options. Easy to connect to my wifi and with Amazon prime I have access to more programming than I'll ever have time to watch.

The TV is great and picture is awesome - compare it to other TVs and you will see that this Samsung has much better contrast, quality and everything. When I bought this TV, I had one thought: "the picture in TV is better than I see around in reality". Also TV is very easy to assemble. Now what should be improved: - remote. Especially the area around arrows - it is easy to hit "exit" instead of "right", what is quite annoying sometimes. The keys of arrows, 'OK', and all around are the same in touch what makes them easy to mismatch. It would be just enough to put some touchmarks on the arrows or make them using another material (like smarthub button). - smarthub. I don't know if this is netflix fault or any other application, but when using netflix tv sometimes just reboots without any warning. I don't know about another apps as I don't use them so often. But - Samsung provides updates for smarthub so I believe these minor things will be soon fixed. I am not usual TV user - 95% of my watching time is netflix or dvd movies. I have also bought the logitech keyboard - it works great, it is just to plug the usb controller to the tv and put your wireless keyboard on the couch. Unfortunately not all applications support the keyboard, but this is apps' producers fault, not the TV.

Awesome, Samsung has redefined and set the mark for LED HDTV. After being a 30 year advid Sony fan I have been won over to Samsung. Bought my first Samsung three years ago to replace my bedroom TV and ended up swapping it with the family room TV because the picture was so crisp an clean. Spent several months researching before purchasing this TV for my living Room and believe me when i say Samsung is the leader in picture and quality.

I have had the TV for about a month now. It was suspose to be calibrated for the room it is in today, however, the equipment was malfunctioning and they had to reschedule. That was upsetting seeing that I had to take a day off of work for them to come and do their thing, now I have to take another day off. Other than that mess up, the TV is awesome, colors are so bright, and the picture is very very sharp. Home set up and installation was a breeze. I would definately recommend this tv to anyone else.

great picture,not over complicated,plug my laptop into via hdmi, wire less key board and mouse, sit in my lazy boy and surf the web on the big screen. 7000/8000 series; SAVE YOUR MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WILL BE HAPPY WITH THIS MODEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

This TV is amazing. It was so easy to set up with the Internet as well as the cable provider. I had it up and running in less than 15 minutes. The picture quality is so crisp and clear and the sound is great with good bass sound even without surround sound. I would definitely recommend this TV to friends and family.

I went into Best Buy on black friday with my girlfriend expecting to buy a cheap plasma TV for my basement. When in line which was extremely long my girlfriend and I noticed this TV and the picture quality of it. Now my girlfriend could really care less about television's and when she saw this TV she wanted me to get it. I had a 55" in my living room already. So when I purchased this TV I moved my 55" Sony downstairs in my basement and hung up my new 55" LED Samsung in the living room. The TV is amazing especially watching blue-ray movies.

The picture quality on this set is outstanding. We have it connected with Direct TV - HD. The built in speakers are average at best. The audio would be much better with a surround system. (I plan to add one). Because we live in the country with limited internet speed, we haven't hooked it up to the net yet. Our ISP is supposed to upgrade our service later this year. We liked the picture quality on this one so much we bought a 40" set for the bedroom which is also outstanding.

This is a GREAT TV if you are looking for a GREAT picture... there are almost too many settings that you can adjust to get the right picture quality that you are looking for... but, in the end, after some adjusting, the picture quality is just outstanding...I think I ended up with my TV settings in "Movie" Picture Mode and the Auto Motion Plus set to "Clear" .... and the picture quality is just amazing!!!!! I was NOT looking for a TV that had 3D... and this TV was the last step before entering the 3D TV market... so I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to anybody that wants a HIGH QUALITY TV without the worry of 3D and the 3D glasses ... Just make sure you are using HDMI cables ... and I just added the Bose CineMate Sound System for the final touch... all of this makes for the PERFECT TV experience!!!!!!
