Has issues a couple months after owning

I had this tv for nine months and it randomly shut off and wouldn’t turn back on.. I am now dealing with Samsung for over a month and half trying to get a refund after they sent out 3 techs and multiple parts they still can not repair my tv saying Samsung sent defective parts.. I will be buy Sony for now on!!!!!

I guess I got a lemon!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After reading hundreds of positive online reviews, I purchased this television to replace my 10-year old 1080p Sony Bravia. Sad to say the picture was no better (maybe worse) that my Bravia. Tried adjusting the tint, color, contrast, brightness, etc. but still no good. Picture got alternately bright, then dark, while watching a program. Glare is horrible--like looking in a mirror, and everything behind me, especially lights, showed up on the monitor while watching a program. Stand is flimsy and not really strong enough for this 35 pound, 55-inch television. Decided to return television while I still could (15-day return policy) and get a full refund. I guess I just got a lemon as most reviews of this television are very positive.

Samsung 4K 55 inch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for $550 from the super bowl deal they had going on.I thought it was a good deal being it was a $800 tv.I hate it, i have direct tv with the newest genie dvr.The tv picture is glitchy and hangs up every 3 seconds like its buffering.I had a Tube tv with the genie hooked up to that and it was fine.I have spent 2 days using all setting's and tried to fine tune it but its just a no go.I reset the tv and genie and no difference.The 60hz refresh rate is the problem i think.It can't handle any fast motion AT ALL.I even tried a bluray player with a blue ray dvd and it looks TERRIBLE.It is unwatchable.I might try a sony or lg next.What a pain to have to box it back up and go back to the store.

The TV will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it. The closer the signal is to 4K, the better it will look coming out.

Screen Goes Black Randomly

The screen goes black for around 1-4 seconds and then comes back on. People have said that it is an issue with their cable box, however, I was having this issue and I do not have cable. This is an issue with the firmware inside the TV. Something about it, when plugged in through HDMI caused the TV to go black. I was also having this issue when watching the SmartTV apps like AmazonVideo. I hope to be returning this TV soon and see if I can have it replaced.

stand screws do not tighten properly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The screws on this stand are extremely difficult to tighten properly. If you strip one of the screws, you would be in big trouble. It shouldn't be so hard to use just 8 screws.

Terrible Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought a similar model (6300) but was so disgusted with the so called but poorly designed Smart Remote that I returned it and after much research was told by Samsung in a chat message, which I have the copy of, that this model (6290) was the exact same but did not have the Smart Remote. So I hauled it down to the Outer Banks and mounted the TV and then discovered that the remote is still the Smart one. The remote requires having to make simple functions a two step process rather than one that all are used to. This without any additional benefit that I can detect. According to Samsung there is no other remote that will work with this model. At the very least it would be nice if Samsung had better informed Customer Service reps.

cant even change the channel!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own 7 other samsung Tvs that when I mount them , I take out the remote and it can guide me through Netflix, has volume control and can seamlessly change the channel..Unbelievably if you own a cable box this brand new remote will not even be able to change the channel on your brand new TV! Hard to believe they would sell such a basic remote on such a nice TV, I called Samsung support where I was given no help and was told to buy a universal remote if i wanted to change the channel! Needless to say this is my last purchase of a samsung TV in the future!

Best Buy washed their hands of the warranty. Contacted Samsung ...WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Sent tech service to home. After 2 times ...he told my wife he was not coming back because he wasn't getting paid for anymore visits...REALLY.!?!? Only CS people were in South Carolina or Domenican Republic. Couldn't get the same person to deal with. Will NEVER buy a SAMSUCK product again. Finally got approval to get my $$$ back . It took almost 2 months to "resolve"!!!

Didn't meet expectations

But picture is good if your in front of the tv but it's horrible fin your on the sides. Biggest issue was the black flickering, common issue with this model. Returned it trying out a higher end model now. Most people can get over this and might not have issue so FYI

WE HAVE OWNED 2 SAMSUNG PRODUCTS: A DVD PLAYER AND A TV. WITH BOTH PRODUCTS WE WERE UNABLE TO PLAY NETFLIX ON A REGULAR BASIS. WE CALLED SAMSUNG WHO SAID THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH NETFLIX NOT UPDATING THEIR APP TO WORK WITH THE SAMSUNG PRODUCT. WE CALLED NETFLIX WHO SAID THE PROBLEM WAS WITH SAMSUNG NOT PAYING FOR THE SPECIAL PROGRAMMING NEEDED TO RUN NETFLIX ON A SAMSUNG PRODUCT. THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM WAS TO DO A HARD RESET BY UNPLUGGING THE SAMSUNG PRODUCT FOR 30 SECONDS AND ALLOWING IT TO RESET. THAT DID WORK, BUT IS VERY FRUSTRATING WHEN IT HAS BE DONE TWICE A WEEK. WE HAVE RETURNED OUR SAMSUNG TV AND WILL PURCHASE ANOTHER BRAND.

Was Not a good experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Samsung products, phone, tv's, etc., however; I bought this TV which was an easy setup but the TV went out a few days after taking it out of the box. I had to return it and went with an LG. I love both brands still, but I will do a better search on Samsung tv's the next time.
