looks and sounds great. super lightweight and easy to use

Wow compared to my older Samsung 40" TV this is impressive. Everything looks good. And the built in apps are wonderful. I have Netflix and Amazon TV in addition I have my own Media server and it works great with all of this. I have seen versions of the simple remote but thankfully I got the full function remote and of course I added it to my logitech universal remote. I am really happy so far. It does have a component out, though it is via a 1/4 inch plug to the various RCA Outputs, but it does exist. The price was $499.00 and there were some better prices on the TG / Cyber weekend but I missed those but still very happy. As a bonus at this time I do not need my Roku box, though it does have a few channels probably not available though I haven't checked that out yet.

This is a great TV. Picture is great and sound is really good. The only con about this is the stand. It’s really bad. I don’t know how designed the tiniest stand for a 55” tv but i plan to hang it on my wall now because i worry it will fall over one day.

less than 3 yrs owned and already getting purple/blue spots on the tv, don't waste your money on samsung

This tv is well worth the price. Great picture quality and sound. Can’t beat the quality you get as an entry level Samsung model!

Stopped working in 2 years. I am not sure why samsung manufacture such cheap products.

Started turning itself on in the middle of the day/night. Have to exchange it because tech support couldn’t figure out the problem

HDMI ports don’t work, the worst speaker ever put in a tv and decent picture quality at best

This TV’s picture quality is terrible. Everything is whitewashed and the movement is incredibly unnatural.

Who else had trouble with getting the screws to go into the base? Was it really unthreaded or did I get a bad TV?

I returned it because it was not as clear as I thought. Save your money and pay more to get a bteee tv

but I have to say, I am quite ecstatic over what quality is offered by this model of TV. Let's get this clear, I have a Sony 900E for my den, which made me realize how much better 4K tvs are, so I decided I wanted something for my bedroom, as my 3 year old 60 inch 3D samsung just looked dull in comparison when it comes to the colors. I knew I didn't want to get any bigger, and 60 inch tvs are few and far between, so 55 inch was the route I went. I new I wanted to start with a budget of around $500-750, but said this one would be where I start, and if it is that big of a drop from my sony, I would return it and go to my next option. I can tell you, I think that will be unnecessary. Plenty of apps (usually I use a Roku, but mine started sending weird pictures to this tv. I guess the port on it messed up) so I think I am set as far as streaming goes. I have done a lot of testing and calibrating. I am a happy camper having only spent $499 for this model in a great size. IT IS NOT PERFECT, but for the money, it easily outperforms the price.

The setup and mounting of this tv was very quick and easy. I hooked it up to my Dish Receiver and had no problems with it at all. I even was able to program the Dish remote to work with this tv.

I recommend buying this TV but also, if possible, get a 4K Blu-Ray player, watch a 4K movie and enjoy your first 4K viewing experience. Considering this was last year's model, the price was decent. Being a Smart TV, it seamlessly integrates with my other media devices. Download and installing Plex took mere seconds. Watching content on my phone then casting to TV works flawlessly. I control the TV, Blu-Ray and cable box with the included remote. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5, is because the remote's lack of back-lighting. Hey Samsung, it's 2018 that is unacceptable.

Thin bezel is great! Stand shape is not the best and lack of weight make tv seem wobbly. Picture is good after adjusting. Sound is poor but expected from thin tv. Only thing that truly I hate is the single button. It is placed in a horrible location. Unless you have easy access to the back you will need to move the tv to get to it.
