Great TV - and no issues over 4+ years

It is our main television in the house, and I have had no issues with it at all. We use the OTA functionality, to watch the big 4 networks, and have YouTubeTV as a pay supplement. The native apps still work great, and they for the most part stay up to date. I lost the ability to use the Xfinity streaming app, due to browser support on the platform (They dropped support, thus the app, from all tv's 2017 and older) Since I use YTTV it really no longer matters. The picture is crisp on BluRay, streaming sticks, and OTA. The only issue I have had is the remote is starting to show wear, and a new one is a bit pricey IMHO to replace it. Auto detection of the HDMI ports is also great.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV back in 2017, and the thing's still going strong in 2023. a couple things to note are that after a while you will see a slight purple/magenta discoloration after a couple years, this is mostly an issue with leds lights that sit behind the screen to serve as a backlight. it's definitely still worth the purchase for how long its served and continues to serve me.

Great Picture, bad stand

Only negatives are the remote and the stand. Very small limited remote and volume is difficult to control on X1 cable remote. Stand is very flimsy for a 55 inch TV. Attached per directions but after TV was put in place it leaned forward. Had to put pressure against TV and tighten screws in bracket again. Would only get if mounting to the wall.

The info on the Best Buy site is wrong though, this tv DOES in fact have HDR. The sound is incredible if you set it up right. Take your time and go through all the options, and you'll love it too.

Mediocre Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 2 Samsung 4K's. One is a 50" (UN50JU7100) and the other is this model a 55" (UN55MU6300). I bought the 55" to place in my den and I took the 50" to a guest apartment we have. Bad move. The 50" UN50JU7100 has a superior picture to the 55" UN55MU6300. Granted I realize the price gap is large between the 7xxx and the 6xxx models but dang, I didn't realize there would be such a gap in the picture quality. The 55" has a considerable washed out look especially when there is a bright yellow or blue in the picture background. I've spent quite some time adjusting the Advanced Picture Settings on the 55" to adjust for backlighting and such, but nothing seems to get it even close to the older UN50JU7100. The UN50JU7100 comes out of the box perfect. Never had to adjust anything, just looks great. Spend a few extra dollars and get a quality TV. Bottom line, $500+/- TV's are just mediocre at best.

It runs horizontally all the way across and is pretty annoying. I usually replace tvs because of obsolescence not due to malfunctions. I’ll have to think twice about this brand as I’m looking to replace it.

Great picture, bad connection

It worked fine for the first 9 days and out of nowhere it just started disconnecting every time I turned it off. I did research and samsung HD tvs are known for this. I troubleshooted in every way and it just keeps dropping the connection. I'm returning it.

Great TV for the price

Even though HDR is not full HDR it still makes a difference. 4K Blurays look great, as do traditional Blurays. My XBOX Slim works great on this TV, it's great for gaming having a low input lag for gaming, solid tv for the price.

Geek Squad Installation Outsourced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Paid for a 2 year geek squad contract and installation of TV purchased. They outsourced the installation to a third party - not installed according to requirements. Called back three times trying to get resolution. Each time they referred us back to the same subcontractor - stating we agreed to the outsource in our purchase of service agreement. Best Buy and Geek Squad is not standing behind my purchase of services from them.... I cannot find a page to comment on Geek Squad. By the way the SAMSUNG TV UN55MU6300FXZA turns itself off and back on - It is a known problem and both BEST BUY and SAMSUNG continue to sell these TVs. SAMSUNG site says to get service repairmen - I hope they do not outsource to Best Buy Geek Squad.

One vertical line appears on the screen after two days (without any impact or surface contact). I liked its interface a lot!! Bestbuy has a good customer service!!

Don't buy

When the show does play, the picture quality is terrible. I hooked up an AppleTV to this unit and it worked perfectly. So this tells me it's not a wifi issue. The issue is internal with the Samsung TV. Also, the Samsung interface app is terrible.

Buyer beware

I've had this tv less than 1 year. 4 months ago I started seeing dimming of the top third of the screen, it would go away and come back. Then the entire bottom half of the screen went dimmer than the top. A couple of days ago the entire tv was black with only sound. Very disappointed in this television.

Samsung is horrible

That’s absolutely ridiculous! I’ve had TV for over 10yrs that still work. I thought Samsung was a good brand but obviously it’s not. DO NOT BUY!!!! Horrible!!!

Doesn't work after one year of use
