I am not a gamer, sports fanatic or a committed movie watcher. I just needed something that was acceptable to look at in the evening time in a larger family room. I also wanted something that was compatible with all my other Samsung devices. I learned a lesson the hard way previously, that often time sound bars are properly matched with their like branded tvs, so I already had a sound bar ready. My last tv was a different brand and the same size but it needed to be moved to another room but had a gorgeous picture with lots of variables to set as far as picture and sound. This Samsung does not have many different ways to set picture and sound to meet your conditions although I will state that the picture quality is very good with general tv watching. It is wall mounted but lucky we saved all the different screws from the wall mounting kit of 3 years ago as the screws were different then the last tv. The sound needs a sound bar...it is bad and even worse then my other branded tv which hung there before. At least with that tv I could adjust many variables to get it to be okay. Setup could have not been more easy and was accomplished via my Samsung phone in about 5 minutes. It is definitely a "plug and play" deal if you have a Samsung tablet or phone. Without speaking to longevity it was worth the sale price I paid for it during the holiday season.

I am very pleased with my purchase of this Samsung 4K television. The picture quality is very good. The images are quite sharp and well defined. The color is very realistic and not at all overly made up looking as some televisions have a tendency towards. The controls are simple by that I mean the remote. Of course this is the second Samsung television I have purchased in 3 years. So now both televisions are Samsung.

This tv has a terrific picture, and was a snap to install. It replaced a 50" Samsung which I also had good luck with; just needed a Smart TV for Netflix and others. My only issue was getting metric hardware for the wall-mount bracket, but I'd been alerted to that by a previous review. Once I measured for the correct length of screws, it was a snap. At under $500, I believe it to be a good value as well.

PROS: + Fantastic picture for an LCD screen once motion smoothing is turned off. Not an OLED but hey its not $1500 either. + Very good sound with good bass from existing speakers. + Easy to setup, it steps you thru everything. When asked to setup a Samsung acct, its not required, just click Skip in upper right corner. + Easy to navigate menus and tweak things. HDMI1,2,3 inputs can be renamed to CableBox, Roku, BluRay, etc CONS - Motion smoothing is on by default, I hate that soap opera effect it causes. Easy enough to turn it off: Home>Picture>Expert Settings>Auto Motion Plus set to OFF. - Audio output is fiber optic only. No bluetooth, no analog RCA jacks. Had to buy a fiber optic to RCA adapter ($13 on Amazon) to connect my old Sennheiser headphones. - No Bixby on the remote on this model. - No 5GHZ 802.11ac wireless, only 2.4Ghz 802.11g/n Still very happy with this TV, no dead pixels, hooray!

This was a great price for the tv. It was easy to set up. The color is bright and clear.

A little pricey, but excellent TV. Great image, smart TV works great, very light.

Easy to set up ,tons of features and a really great price,a lot of bang for the buck

This is actually my second Samsung smart TV I have had (first was replaced due to damage done myself, long story, not necessary). The other was a 6900, and this one is every bit as good, picture quality and sound are superb. This one actually DOES upscale content to very nearly 4k quality. Only downside is lack of Bluetooth (no smart remote) but other than that I have ZERO complaints.

I paid 479 which seemed very good. This television has a lot of smart tv features. It lets me watch netflix, hulu, amazon and all the rest. The sound is good and the picture is very nice. It only has 3 HDMI ports - it could use another 1 or 2. It has a fiber optic port for the sound amplifier. I wish it had miracast for my laptop or an extra HDMI port so I could watch youtube on it.

Viewed head-on, this television provides excellent images. Viewed from an angle, less so, and from a sharp angle, the image dims out considerably. (Our older plasma TV was much better from an angle). The smart features are nice and work well. Weird that the unit has no buttons and setup requires use of your cellphone. Still, we're happy so far.

The TV was very easy to set up. I was worried about the VHS player because it has no hdmi output. There is an adapter included so my wife can still see her Hallmark movies. The picture is great from both cable and antenna. Hope to get a 4k uhd blueray to see how it is better than standard. Love the TV.

We needed to buy a new TV in this size to fit in a built spot in our new house. Having already laid out quite a bit of money on a new QLED in our family room and setting up our theater room, money was tight when making this choice. We were hoping our existing TV was going to fit. At under $500 for a 55" 4k HDR TV it's hard to say anything bad about this TV. I feel it's necessary to grade this TV on what it is, and not what it isn't. I don't think it's fair to knock it for not having the features of the more expensive models. It's like complaining that a cheap car doesn't drive like an expensive one. The picture quality satisfies my needs, though it is not as good as my QLED. That should be expected. The SMART HUB is great and if you're a cord cutter you'll appreciate the amount of apps offered and the layout. However, my knock of one star has to do with the quality of the wifi/ethernet speed. It is MUCH slower than my Apple TV. Now, I understand this may not be fair as the Apple TV alone is a 3rd of this price of this TV. However, I have them both hardwired to the same network and get 800 Mbps on my Apple TV and about 35 Mbps from this TV on my fiber network. Having said that, it s still a solid TV for the money with a good picture and much better than expected audio (once I changed the settings).
