    Samsung - Streaks on screen

I bought this TV in 2018 and I'm already getting streaks at the bottom of the TV. I've always owned Samsung TVs and they've never done this. Usually they last way longer or until I decide to upgrade.

As a previous person wrote this tv has begun making a ticking noise from the rear. Ive owned 5 different samsung tvs all have have been great quality. This one is different.... After about 2 weeks it began making a ticking noise from the back. Usually happens at least three times a minute. At first I gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking it was just the expansion and contraction of parts warming and cooling. Or possibly The plastic on the rear creeking from being wall mounted. It is none of the above this is an audible distraction coming from inside the tv. Of course when I go to call customer service its out of their 15 day return policy by less than a week. And basically said that any other action would just cost me money. What a bad joke when youre paying 1k for a tv you would expect better from best buy and samsung. This will be the last thing I buy from bestbuy and samsung. Beyond aggravating.

    Remote control is a nightmare

This television was a replacement for my 5 year old Samsung LED. Of course the quality of the picture is better but I hate the remote control. I have a physical disability to my upper extremities and it is very painful and difficult to change the channel since it requires several steps. The remote control does not have typical buttons to change channel, inputs, settings or anything. I think this is very, very, very stupid. I was advised to buy a universal remote control. This is not, in my opinion, good for anyone with disabilities or challenges and especially senior citizens. I am considering a Sony or an LG.

Bought this tv 2 months ago as a birthday gift for my husband. It’s not working at all!!! So far we are one week without a tv and no idea when it might be fixed. I called Samsung immediately when it stopped working. They sent the info to the company that handles their warranty repairs. Then I had to call that company. They are shipping parts to a repair tech and then he will call me to schedule repairs. This could be weeks without a tv!!!! Looked up Samsung TVs at Consumer Reports and they have the worst repair history of all major brands. Ten percent need repairs in the first two years!! I’m going back to see if I can still get an extended warranty because I have no confidence in this tv. Wish I could still return it for a different brand!!!!

I had to go in the settings and turn off a bunch of default settings that sounded like they were supposed to improve the picture, to get the picture to stop stuttering. The speakers are terrible too. The software keeps changing back to TV speakers even when it automatically powers up my surround sound. The picture doesn't auto adjust brightness for the room lighting. I've had problems with Samsung before and told the salesmen at the store this, but he assured me they have fixed there halfbaked software problems. I guess i shouldn't have trusted the sales staff.

I consulted CR before I bought a new TV for my husband’s birthday. I settled on a Samsung 55 inch NU8000 because it was highly rated. Exactly 30 days later, it started turning on and off continuously. Took weeks for warranty repair but finally, the motherboard was replaced and it worked again. (The repair technician broke the back while removing it and we had to wait for that replacement part to be sent as well.). I’m about to buy a new tv for our guest room and one thing I can guarantee is that it will NOT be a Samsung!!!

    Vertical line down tv

A week after the one year warranty a vertical line about 3 inches wide appeared on right side of tv. At first it went away within 5 minutes. After that it stays on flashing the whole time the tv is on. After speaking to Samsung I was told it is a defective part in tv that they are aware of. Yet they will not fix it. Seems like BestBuy or Samsung would replace or repair it since it is a lemon!!!!!!! I will not be buying a Samsung tv or any tv from BestBuy again!!!!!!!!!!!

After two and a half days... a HUGE white line streaked down the middle of the screen. Although BEST BUY wouldn’t help me out to exchange it... Samsung was more than willing to help. They UPGRADED me to a new model which I should receive in The next week or so. Hoping this one works just a little longer.

I purchased this unit brand new on Cyber Monday and it didn't come with the power chord, the remote, or the user manual. I downloaded the manual online, but it looks like the power cable is proprietary to Samsung, and even if I had that, there was no remote to turn it on with after the fact. I only gave this one star for now because it isn't a working product without these missing items.

When this was first installed, everything was great. But now. There is a problem with freezing and pixel shaking. Also, the Apple TV is either not setup correctly or something because it takes me forever to get Apple TV to recognize that it is an 'input' and even turning it on using the remote? Takes 4 or more tries before it appears. New one coming Sat Jan 5. Keep fingers crossed.

      Baller,

The NU7 series comes with Auto Motion Plus, a feature designed to eliminate blur and judder on an LED TV, specifically in fast moving images. It does so by taking a 30-fps signal and adding in additional frames to help smooth out any blur or judder between frames – this is called interpolation.

Here is the step-by-step guide to change Auto Motion Plus settings:
      1) With the TV powered on, press the Home button on the Samsung remote to open the Home screen

      2) Then select Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Auto Motion Plus
Note: This option may not be visible initially. Continue scrolling through the Expert Settings Menu to locate Auto Motion Plus

      3) Then Select Auto Motion Plus again, and you will see the following three options:
      a) Off: Auto Motion Plus will always be off
      b) Auto: Auto Motion Plus will automatically activate and deactivate based on the type of program being watched
      c) Custom: Allows custom adjustments and settings to be used

      4) By selecting the Custom option, you can further access these advanced settings:
      a) Judder Reduction: Use the directional keys on the remote to adjust the Judder setting.
      b) LED Clear Motion: Select to turn On/Off
For further assistance on this feature or other usages, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG and a representative will gladly help you. Or LiveChat with our product experts at:  http://www.samsung.com/us/support/contact

    Suddenly, there came a clicking

As if someone was tapping at my chamber door. On a more serious note, save yourself the trouble. I loved everything about this TV. It includes many features that Samsung’s higher end TVs offer at a fraction of the cost. I, like many others, expected a high quality product from one of the most popular TV brands. I’ve been proven wrong. In two months, I’ve gone through three of these TVs. Three “premium” UHD TVs from a company that prides itself on ensuring better quality control. Every. TV. Had. A. Clicking. Sound. The first TV had issues immediately, the second started in two days, and the third took about a week to show signs. I figured it was some form of thermal expansion, but I’m starting to doubt that theory. It starts when the TV is turned on/off and lasts for roughly half an hour. If I switch to a different source, such as my Apple TV or PS4, it’ll start clicking again despite being on for the last two hours. It’s maddening. However, the scariest part about this entire experience is Samsung customer service. You think Comcast is bad? Well, Samsung said, “hold my beer.” I’ve contacted these guys over fives times, spoken to supervisors, and even escalated this to the CEOs office. Instead of relatable and compassionate representatives, I’ve encountered drones that copy paste the same responses over and over like they’re part of some government psyops operation. For over two months, no one at support has acknowledged this as a manufacturers defect. No one has accepted responsibility or even offered an explanation as to why something like this is occurring. For a company like Samsung, this is embarrassing. Avoid this heartache and go with a different brand. You’ll definitely thank yourself for it.

Samsung hasn't delivered with this TV plain and simple. Great picture, great smart features, but this all changed within four weeks. TV shuts off unexpectedly. Video/Audio is lost, while the power source remains fine (Samsung sound bar & sub on same power source stays on). A quick Google search on this issue brought up support and forums in the US and other global sites. Best Buy delivery and sales was great, however the Samsung product isn't. Price was too good to be true on this one.
