    Great Ultra High Definition TV

This was my first time investing in a 55" TV. The Samsung 2018 Ultra High Definition TV was a great choice! It is a smart TV. It interfaced with my wifi and enabled me to watch Netflix movies with the click of a button. I can view U-Tube, HULU, and many others. I purchased the Sony 300 Watt Sound Bar to go with it. The sound is incredible! The TV picture is very clear and sharp. I'm glad my first experience with Smart TV was such a positive one.

    HUGE UPGRADE!

For Black Friday i was looking for a decent TV under $1000 i ended up going with this one 55" NU8000 model for all of its gaming features, as i play on both PC and Console 1440p 120hz was a big selling point. 55" is really big almost too big for the room, but i've gotten used to it. everything about the TV is great except for sound although this didn't bother me as i already had a good soundbar to pair with it. I upgraded from an almost 10 year old 32" 720p/1080i tv and the differences were immediately noticeable. i couldn't be happier with my decision.

Nice interface, but poor motion and judder issues

    Posted .

I wanted to like TV, but it was unwatchable. The Motion Blur was very inconsistent and certain scenes or shots would glitch or judder. The "soap opera" effect was not really noticeable, but the lack of the motion blur every 10-15 seconds made it difficult to watch shows. For instance, a deep pass during a football game wouldn't be a smooth continuous arc. The ball would just glitch ahead all of the sudden. TV shows did similar thing almost like it was buffering and then trying to catch up. It didn't matter the source. Xfinity cable box, Hulu, Plex. I could get rid of the issue if I turned off all of the motion blur stuff, but then the frame rate looked worse than my 10 year old LG. Something not quite right about it. We bought a Samsung QLED, hoping there would be an improvement, but those all did it as well. I was able to demonstrate it on the Q6, Q7, and the Q8. The one nice thing about the TV was the interface and setup. It was smooth and worked really well. It is way nicer than AndroidTV that the Sony has. The remote is nice and integrated well with our Xfinity box. We have a lot of Samsung products and have been happy with them, but they really dropped the ball with this one. We kept the Sony because the picture was much nicer than any of the Samsungs.

    Good TV replacement

So far the only real complaint have at the moment is the price. I bought this TV on a Saturday and the very next day it goes on sale (darn you BestBuy). So far I haven't had any real issues as of yet. The remote took some little use of getting used to but being able to control it with my phone and Cox remote kind of pick up the slack with lack of buttons on the tv remote. The sound is decent but maybe that's because I'm using it for a bedroom. I really wish Samsung could have provided the screws for wall mounting. The contrast could be better but the picture overall was pretty good. Even though I don't have a PS4Pro or an XboxOne X, it did bring my games out more in detail. So I would recommend this tv but also do your homework before buying.

Downgraded from the Q7 and this TV is amazing!

I downgraded this week from a Samsung Q7 to NU8000 to save some money as I did some research finding out that there were barely any major differences. Once I turned on this TV, I was surprised on how similar it looks to the QLED TV. The colors are a little less vibrant, but it was to be expected. Besides Quantum Dot technology, there are no other major differences between the Q7, Q6, and NU8000. If you want to save money, go with this TV. You will not be disappointed. I saved $675 downgrading to this TV.

Love the tv. Have had it for 4 years and finally reviewing ^.^ 4 stars because its recently given me issues with picture quality and changing channels out of nowhere. Also, point it away from windows and lights! The glare is horrible!

Great TV but is it worth the price?

Very nice picture, but the Bestbuy salesperson told me that even non4k would be enhanced, and that is why I bought this. Now, I am not sure if it was worth almost double the cost of the 7000 series. If you are on the fence, I would not recommend the extra cost for the 8000 series. The non4k is not that much better.

Great 55" TV... if it works.

I will now have to return 2 of these. The first one had crackling noises from the beginning, but I used Bluetooth headphones to discover I otherwise was very impressed so I exchanged it. 2nd one doesn't look quite as good. Still has an excellent picture with some slight tweaks, but the wired ethernet connection repeatedly disconnects and reconnects every time the cable moves, and it takes a hundred tries to get it to stay connected. Yes I've switched cables. The Samsung TV I bought my dad 3 years ago had the same problem. If not for these issues, I'd give it 4.5*. Many of the negatives in reviews about this TV seem exaggerated. Maybe get the protection plan though as there are too many cheap parts that can go wrong. Why I still recommend it: Even my DVDs look far better than Blu-rays on my beautiful Samsung Plasma ever did. We watch a lot more SD and 1080p content than 4K, and this TV is better suited for it than the Vizio P Series.

Ordered the new tv and arrived within the week (this is during black Friday week.) The remote takes a bit time to get use to. The "stand" doesn't seem super sturdy as my old LG TV though.

    Suddenly, there came a clicking

As if someone was tapping at my chamber door. On a more serious note, save yourself the trouble. I loved everything about this TV. It includes many features that Samsung’s higher end TVs offer at a fraction of the cost. I, like many others, expected a high quality product from one of the most popular TV brands. I’ve been proven wrong. In two months, I’ve gone through three of these TVs. Three “premium” UHD TVs from a company that prides itself on ensuring better quality control. Every. TV. Had. A. Clicking. Sound. The first TV had issues immediately, the second started in two days, and the third took about a week to show signs. I figured it was some form of thermal expansion, but I’m starting to doubt that theory. It starts when the TV is turned on/off and lasts for roughly half an hour. If I switch to a different source, such as my Apple TV or PS4, it’ll start clicking again despite being on for the last two hours. It’s maddening. However, the scariest part about this entire experience is Samsung customer service. You think Comcast is bad? Well, Samsung said, “hold my beer.” I’ve contacted these guys over fives times, spoken to supervisors, and even escalated this to the CEOs office. Instead of relatable and compassionate representatives, I’ve encountered drones that copy paste the same responses over and over like they’re part of some government psyops operation. For over two months, no one at support has acknowledged this as a manufacturers defect. No one has accepted responsibility or even offered an explanation as to why something like this is occurring. For a company like Samsung, this is embarrassing. Avoid this heartache and go with a different brand. You’ll definitely thank yourself for it.

Samsung hasn't delivered with this TV plain and simple. Great picture, great smart features, but this all changed within four weeks. TV shuts off unexpectedly. Video/Audio is lost, while the power source remains fine (Samsung sound bar & sub on same power source stays on). A quick Google search on this issue brought up support and forums in the US and other global sites. Best Buy delivery and sales was great, however the Samsung product isn't. Price was too good to be true on this one.

Some blacks shows grayness specially if there is subtitles on a dark scene! Like logo of NBC before the program starts on Hulu. I did everything I can! Please patch this up!! BUT! If you're the type of person that don't mind things like this, I recommend it.

    Good picture, bad hardware

I bought this TV even with a couple reviews that it makes the "popping" noise because it was only two people that said that. However, one week into owning this TV a spark, popping noise starting occurring when the TV was on and off. I am going to see my options because luckily this happened prior to the 15 day period. Upon looking online it appears that Samsung is using cheap and outdated hardware for their TV's. Besides this issue, the TV is great. Not worth the stress of bringing it back though.
