Samsung Q8F 55 inch - No regrets
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do really enjoy the tv. Coupled with a soundbar makes for theater like movie viewing. My only issues with this unit are the picture modes. I use Movie mode almost exclusively. 2nd is Natural mode. Color saturation and definition with Dynamic and Standard modes are not pleasing to me at all. I prefer somewhat muted colors.

Extreme glitch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tv expecting big things from Samsung’s 2018 Q8. I was left extremely disappointed in both the picture and motion. The background often appeared fuzzy on certain channels especially sports. The biggest issue though was the glitch. On high definition shows during fast movement, the figures would glitch and a blur around the figure would appear, similar to that of a video game. Watching a 4K sports show on Netflix was near impossible due to the constant glitching of the players. It was almost like the tv couldn’t keep up with the players on the field. After a while it lagged and glitched so much that i would get a headache from it. I had multiple people over to see the lag and glitching to ensure i wasn’t crazy. All of which agreed that their was something wrong with my tv. Many friends have Samsung televisions (none with a q8) and never experienced these problems. I am extremely frustrated and will be taking this tv back. It is not worth the money i spent. At this point i will be reluctantly downgrading and going with a tcl 6 series because this Samsung Q8 has changed my outlook on paying a lot of money on televisions. It’s also important to note that i changed my cable company twice within a week (both of which had the highest internet speed) and experienced no difference in glitch/lag. I also used the WiFi to watch the same show on my iPhone and experienced no glitching or lagging. I even called Samsung support to trouble shoot my tv and experienced no difference in glitching. Only reason i am not giving this a one star is because it’s glare reduction screen was out of this world. Our tv is located on a corner next to a large bay window where sun directly hits the tv and we experienced ZERO glare. I would have loved to stay with this tv because of how awesome the glare reduction was but i could not overcome the constant glitching i experienced.

Posted .Kyle,
I am glad that you enjoyed the anti-glare benefit of your Q8F TV.
I do apologize for the inconveniences you have had with the app glitches.
Please know that the limitation of streaming 4K content may not be with the TV, but with Netflix app. While Netflix does support 4K content streaming, it requires a different account level for the app to display the full resolution with optimal frame rate.
Please check your subscription service to make sure that you are on the Netflix 4K plans.
I hope these tips help to make your experience more enjoyable.

Love this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've wanted this TV for awhile and I finally bought it. It's phenomenal in all sorts of ways. The picture is AMAZING! I was looking at OLED TV's which are very nice indeed but QLED works for me. I do not regret buying this TV. One of the best decisions I ever made. Buy it while it's on sale for $1,499.

Worked for a few days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got home with the tv and everything worked good nice picture and everything well 4 days later the tv just out of nowhere turns on and off on its own and after that there is now an area about 5x8 in size that seems to flicker. Its more noticable on a white screen or lights colors. Samsung told me they see nothing wrong through remote viewing and are sending a tech out (currently waiting for a call back). Well since then now the tv shuts off after a few hours and will keep shutting off on its own. I have only had the tv for 6 days now i think if this problem persists tomorrow i am just going to return it for a different model tv maybe lg or sony. Would post a pic but its not very visible in a picture.

Going with another Brand other than Samsung
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Samsung products but the last two tv’s I bought after three years they quit working at first I thought it was the remote but even with a different remote it wouldn’t change channels or anything it’s something to do i with the eye on the tv I’m changing to another brand because $1500 - $2000 is way to much to pay for a tv to last only 3 years

Bad quality control and bad customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tv four months ago and was upgrading from a curved Samsung 4k set I had for several years that I was very happy with. Over the last few weeks, during the course of normal cleaning and following the instructions with the TV set, I've noticed streaks forming on the screen that I simply cannot seem to get off. Concerned this might be a sign that whatever coating is on the tv might be defective, I contacted Samsung and was informed that it is not a covered warranty event and that I would simply have to deal with it. This is my first experience dealing with their customer service and found it be perfunctory, pathetic, and unacceptable for how expensive this product is. For a disposable product, I would assume such an attitude, but for a TV that costs as much as this one, I was deeply disappointed. When the opportunity presents itself, I'll be trying a different make and would suggest you do the same. Stay clear.

Dead Pixels Out of the box. Samsung won’t replace
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As I booted this 65 inch panel up for the first time I could see a group of dead pixels. I updated the firmware and reset the tv. The problem still exists. I next called Samsung customer service and requested a replacement since the tv was brand new. Customer service told me “no”, but said I could make the request with the repair techs. I heard from the local repair people and was asked to provide pictures of the problem. After I sent the picture I heard back that it will take 5 business days to get the parts. At that point I again requested that the tv be replaced. I have not heard back. I just bought 6 2018 and 2019 TVs; 2 Sony’s 3 LG OLED and this Samsung. Every other tv is perfect in every way out of the box. If Samsung won’t stand by there products when they are brand new and wants me to have a product that is partially refurbished, they won’t have me as a customer again. Too bad Samsung won’t step up to the plate. It was a big mistake to buy this Samsung tv.

Settings limitations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On any other tv even the same one from a few years back 4k but not qled, if you put the brightness, contrast, and backlight all the way down the screen goes fully black. Even on the lowest settings at "0" the screen is still way too bright and impossible to fall asleep to. For no reason at all the sleep timer only allows a 4 hour setting too not more options for you to set it at.

Posted .Hi Scott,
The Q8F offers several timer options that you can adjust to your preference:
1. Auto Power Off: it automatically turns off the TV to reduce unnecessary power consumption if there is no operation for 4 hours. Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution to turn it on or off.
2. Off Timer: You can set Off Timer to shut off the TV automatically at a specific time. Off Timer is only available if the Clock has been set.
To activate this feature, go to Settings> General> System Manager> Time Off Timer
3. Sleep Timer: You can use this function to automatically shut off the TV after a pre-set period of time (up to 180 minutes).
To activate this feature, go to Settings> General> System Manager> Time Sleep Timer
