Performs Beyond Its Cost

Between this and the Sony X90J, it's a tough call!

So when you bring it home all channels will not look like that.

Good TV

Fantastic gaming experience. Nice and bright. My display came with a dead pixel that was really bothering me before I returned it. I would still recommend this TV to many people.

Wi-Fi mesh

Foggy black areas

There seems to be a known problem with this new 2021 screen where you will see a foggy area when a dark scene appears. Ours was always in the upper left corner.. 6" x 20". Ok, and also the main home menu is clunky. There is an option to move apps so you wont have to hunt for a frequently used one but not all of the apps can be moved. so... I was always going through 10 to get to the one I used. We returned this tv after two days. I couldn't get past this foggy area on the screen and other people have had this same issue.

Red dots on screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV yesterday (10/20/2021) from the Best Buy in Dedham on Providence Highway. A store employee put it in the back of my vehicle, laying it flat. I drove it home and it it never laid flat again. I mounted the TV on the wall without an issue today. I observed about 6-7 res dots on the bottom right of the screen when we initially set it up. I was hoping they would be temporary but unfortunately they are still there this evening.

Very Good Service - Defective TV.

However, when calibrating the TV they noticed red dots. They said my local Best Buy would contact me and arrange the exchange.

Do not buy

My wife and I bought this tv on April 10 2021, and it was delivered a few days later. Out if the box the screen was defective in that there was a small triangle in the bottom left quadrant that was permanently on and red. But there’s more. The Samsung software does not get along well with you tube tv. It works, but frequently it doesn’t exit the app on closing requiring you to unplug the tv and restart. But worst is that in their packing process Samsung affixes a barcode sticker directly onto the glass screen of the tv (not some packaging or film) that is very difficult to remove safely. This wasn’t a one off problem, because when Best Buy swapped out the first defective screen tv for an identical replacement, it had the same bar code sticker in the same place. Best Buy staff recommended using rubbing alcohol to remove it. We did and that ruined the screen. When we called Samsung directly they said use soap and water to remove it, which sounds odd for electronics. So the second one went back, and we’re now happily enjoying an LG model.

Thank you for your review of the 55” Q80A TV and for sharing your experience which caused you to return your TV. It is possible that the triangle image you were reporting was imprinted on the protective film.
Please be aware that not all TVs come with a protective film. If there is a protective film on your screen, it would have been indicated with a blue tab in the upper left corner. The tab has an illustration showing how to remove the protective film. If there was no blue tab in the upper left corner, no protective film would have been on the screen, and peeling anything off would have damaged what is actually the screen.
If you did try removing the film and only removed the blue tab, you could have tried affixing a piece of adhesive tape to where the blue tab was and tried removing the film again.
Additionally, the barcode sticker would have been on the protective film and would have come off when removing the film.
