Extremely Pleased !!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I can say is WOW ! And in a Good way !! Unfortunately our 5 year old Samsung 50 inch went black and had to be replaced, wouldn't you know right after the extended warranty when out. When we bought it 5 years ago we were looking for nice 50 inch TV that had a good picture and features that wouldn't break the bank, and it turned out to be just what we were looking for at the time. Well we just purchased it's replacement two days ago which is this 55 inch Samsung Q80A Series and It's Awesome ! It was higher priced than what we wanted to pay but I have to say that the picture & sound quality blows away the last TV we had. The picture is super sharp, clear & bright and we can't believe how much better it is compared to our last Samsung TV ! The viewing angle is incredible too from both sides which I found is hard to come by unless you spend a lot more money and get a top of the line model, so we are extremely pleased that we don't have to sit right in front of it to enjoy a great picture. The sound is also a huge improvement on this TV compared to the last one we had, which only had a single speaker on the left side which didn't sound very good. Unfortunately we live in a rural area where internet service sucks, so I don't have any comments regarding apps, streaming, etc. But I can say that watching TV from Dish Network & Bluray's is fantastic !! Just hoping this TV outlasts the previous one as a 5 year lifespan is much to short for the amount of money that they cost. All In all if your looking for a New 50-55 inch TV, This is a Great choice !!

Samsung 55” QLED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is kind of a late review considering I’ve had the TV for 3 years. That being said, the quality of this tv holds up and there have been 0 issues. I’ve always had Samsung tv’s and will continue to due so! It’s hard to rate sound quality due to the fact that I’ve always had a receiver with surround sound. Overall great product!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV as an upgrade to my last model. This TV has great depth and color, especially in the black. The built in Samsung TV and smart app features are also very smooth on the interface and fast. Perfect for any living room or bedroom. Love movie night on this Samsung Q80!

Samsung QLED didn't overwhelm replacement tv area
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After researching for a smart tv for the 1st time I was worried after getting it I wouldn't be happy since my other tv lasted 10 years with a great picture. Unpacking with the help of 1 other due its size, everything turned out ok. I was able to keep my Roku going but now with better color. The picture started out too bright for me but it didn't take long to adjust the settings. We love that we can sit at an angle & still see the whole screen, no darkening in the corners or edges. Samsung tv hooked up nicely with my Samsung phone. 4 hdmi ports are great. The stand that came with it puts it high enough to clean under without scraping my knuckles. So far highly recommend for size & picture viewing. Sound is not blaring down the hall even when up high, good tones.

Samsung Q80A 55" TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very hesitant in purchasing this TV, because of all the negative reviews about the picture quality. All I can say now is WOW! There does not appear to be any clear plastic protective film on this new 2021 model. There was a clear plastic around the outer frame exterior, that we removed. Very well packaged and easy to open and set up. We are a bit of "techies" but my husband is 80 and me 76 years old, others should have no problem with setup. Didn't change any of suggested settings. Only thing we changed later was to switch from ethernet connected internet to the wireless because the LAN is shut off with the TV and Alexa can't turn on the TV. If you don't want to use Alexa or Google device to turn your TV on and off ethernet is probably more reliable. So far I am very satisfied. Will update if thing change. Brownsville TX store personnel were very patient and helpful.

Samsung 55
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchase this Smart TV in August of this year and absolutely love it. I had a TV I purchased in 2006 that was time to put to rest. I ordered set up and delivery from Best Buy. The guys who came were professional, efficient, and took away the old TV. Set up was easy. I have it wall mounted. The picture is beautiful. The only draw back is you need to put the remote upside down in a bright room or in sunlight for it to charge. I’d highly recommend this Smart TV especially for those living in apartments where a bigger TV IS NOT feasible.

Think before you invest big on it..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Get something cheaper not worth money, started having issue of power cycle and it’s been only 2 year. If I have to pay higher price I expect better life cycle. I rather buy other brand. At half price for 2 year life cycle.

Fantastic TV

Initial quality?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a nightmare! Read on for some entertainment. Recently, we had to replace a really old LG tv in our living room and did't want to spend a fortune like we did for our beautiful 65" LG OLED in a different room. The living room TV is more for news and basic programming. Did some research and came up with the Samsung 7000 60" would be a good bet. Saw the picture in the store and it was satisfactory for the price. Took it home and set it up with no issues. Keep in mind that the old TV was 7 years in the same installation except for a new Panamax line conditioner in 2019. Again, the picture was decent, but nothing spectacular. 24 hours later, we turned on the set, got sound but no picture. I called Samsung, and after some trouble shooting, determined that the power supply failed. Back to BB. I decided to upgrade the set to the Q80A for a better picture and, hopefully, better quality. Paid the difference and went home to set up the new set. Setup went fine and the picture was very good. The next day, we were watching the set and it turned off by itself. My wife and I looked at each other and I went to turn in back on. All that I could get was it trying to cycle on. Called Samsung again, and, yep, the power supply had failed. They had me count the LED light flashes on the bottom of the set. I told them I'd like to have the set fixed and they gave me the name of the local service agency. When I called them, they said that it would be at least two to three weeks before they could be here to fix it. Packed it up and went to BB for the third time. . I decided that I've had it with Samsung and decided to purchase the LG OLED 55"A series, which I should have done at the beginning. The picture is perfect and the set works flawlessly. It is important to note that the staff at BB has been wonderful and very helpful. even if you can't call the store directly. Samsung customer service, while helpful to a point, doesn't seem to think it would be a good idea to have the second set repaired or replaced quicker that two to three weeks after both units failed in 24 hours.

Do not buy this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV 2 weeks ago. I found it to be very lacking in definition and especially shadowing of people and backgrounds whenever a darker scene is displayed on the TV. The sound however is very high quality to be fair about this TV. I exchanged it with the same TV and the picture continued to be shadowed out so I am trading it in for an LG OLED TV which is supposedly better quality than the Samsung QLED TV’s.

Do not buy Samsung Q80 A
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer beware, do NOT buy the 2021 Samsung Q80 A as it may be subject to a manufacturing or shipping defect. I have bought and returned 4 defective Samsung Q80 A TVs within the span of two weeks in March 2021. 3 were returned due to a defective screen that had a section of dead pixels in the shape of a triangle in the bottom left corner of the screen and the other one was returned due to several dead pixels scattered all over the screen (this one didn’t have the triangle defect). When I returned the first two TVs to the store the Best Buy staff seemed a little skeptical of my issue so they agreed to open the two replacements in the store before I took them home and to their surprise the two new TVs also had the same section of dead pixels in the bottom left corner. The Magnolia staff was super helpful and was able to recommend a much better TV so a walked out of there with two LG 55CXs which look amazing!!! TLDR, do NOT buy a Samsung Q80 A.

Thank you for your review of the Samsung 55” Q80A TV and for sharing the issues that have caused you to return your units. Your experience is very important and has been escalated to our product teams. It is possible that the triangle image you were reporting was imprinted on the protective film.
Please be aware that not all TVs come with a protective film. If there is a protective film on your screen, it would have been indicated with a blue tab in the upper left corner. The tab has an illustration showing how to remove the protective film. If there was no blue tab in the upper left corner, no protective film would have been on the screen, and peeling anything off would have damaged what is actually the screen.
If you did try removing the film and only removed the blue tab, you could have tried affixing a piece of adhesive tape to where the blue tab was and tried removing the film again.

Warning! Remote control is garbage.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My complaint is with the solar cell remote. It doesn’t work. I’ve had it in sunlight and lamplight for 24 hours and it is still DOA. I can’t even set up the TV without a useable remote. You can charge it with a USB C connector, but Samsung doesn’t provide one. Eliminating the use of simple batteries was a dumb idea. The solar cell might be good, if it worked. So now what do I do?
