Samsung has a ton of free channels, so you could watch it right out of the box. As long as you have internet.

I did a little tweaking with the picture settings and am so pleased. It is connected to my Yamaha Aventage RX A2A 7.2 receiver powering my Klipsch 7.2 surround sound. One happy Samsung customer.

The picture is brighter and clearer. Only thing the LG was better at was switching between modes (HDMI for game consoles) but that's minor.

Only time it’s detectable is when you watch a movie on Prime or one of the pay for view channels. One of the dumbest things sSamsung ever did was coming out with a solar remote, which this has. 90% of the time we’re watching this in a dark area and it isn’t charging so you have to plug it in. One remote already went bad and Samsung had to send me a replacement.. picture isn’t that great for the money either. You buy a 4K tv and no one broadcasts in 4K. You decide.

I’m not sure if it was the local dimming or not but couldn’t figure out how to fix. Audio was flat, it sounded like the bass was being limited. Brightness was amazing and viewing angles.

We appreciate you sharing details of the dimming issue you’ve experienced on your QN90B TV. Please try disabling some of the TV's energy efficiency functions, as these will automatically adjust your picture and may cause your screen to appear brighter or darker than preferred.
Check to see if Contrast Enhancer has been enabled. This setting automatically adjusts your TV's brightness so the difference between bright and dark areas is not excessive. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Contrast Enhancer
If Contrast Enhancer hasn’t been enabled, please see if Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, or Motion Lighting have been enabled and disable them.
- Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Power and Energy Saving > turn off Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, and Motion Lighting
Please also be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1211.2 which includes various performance and picture quality updates. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now
The QN90B features Intelligent Mode to optimize sound tailored to your environment, which includes features like Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) which further detects disturbances and enhances the on-screen voices for clear dialogue.
Go to Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Intelligent Mode Settings. Turn the options on or off to meet your needs:
- Active Voice Amplifier is available only when the sound sensor of the TV is active and the sound output is set to TV Speaker, or a Samsung Soundbar interlinked with Adaptive Picture is connected.
- Adaptive Sound+ provides optimized sound quality by analyzing the viewing space and the acoustic components of the content.
- Adaptive Volume Automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while you are watching TV.

Our current 10-year-old 55" Class is going to our granddaughter who is setting up her first post college apartment, which gives me a perfect excuse to buy a new 55" Samsung. This TV is not just SMART, it seems to be learning my program habits/preferences and the shows we typically prefer to watch and conveniently presents those 'apps'. And, 'Alexa' is patiently teaching me how to navigate the TV commands. Alexa; "next time just say, Alexa, go to HDMI one". This thing is so advanced it's almost scary, but such great fun!
