eARC HDMI DOES NOT WORK

If you plan to hook up to a receiver or sound-bar. Please buy another TV. I have gone through a hell experience trying to figure out why the sound does not wok. Samsung should tell consumers that its connection is incompatible with certain brands of receiver. GARBAGE!

We appreciate you sharing your experience with eARC connectivity, and for optimal performance, we ask that you please ensure your QN90B TV is running the latest firmware update. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
Please also be sure you are using a high-speed HDMI cable with Ethernet Channel (sometimes called HDMI HEC cable). Also be sure to enable HDMI-eARC in the Expert Settings menu.

Poor picture quality

Picture Test displays a high-definition picture you can examine for flaws or faults. Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test

Great TV but Some Flaws

I love how thin it is while not being too thin like the OLED televisions. It also gets really bright and does a decent job at keeping black levels low. There are scenes where the blooming isn't the greatest but that is just the flaw of a mini led television. The only problem I have with the TV is that the metal piece that makes up the border to the plastic back has bent outward a bit, but otherwise doesn't affect the TV. Another odd bug or issue with the television is that rarely the backlight will flicker when I turn it on, so I have to turn it back off and on to get rid of it. There is also some setting the TV comes in when you use the regular TV or Samsung TV pictures settings. For some reason I would set the brightness and the television kept changing the brightness on me even when I would turn off the smart features and eco features. I don't have this brightness issue on the PC mode or Gaming mode. My biggest issue with this television is the remote and the menu. The menu takes up the whole screen, and to change sources or inputs on the television you have to go through the menu, and it can be pretty slow. I don't know why Samsung is designing remotes without a source button but will have a button for a streaming service. The remote also is supposed to charge in light, but even with a lamp shining on the solar cell it doesn't seem like it wants to charge. Samsung does not include a cable to charge the remote which is just cheap for how much you spend on a television. I would get some kind of aftermarket remote with a source button and that uses batteries.

Did not workout for us

Lip sync issue (no sound bar, just the TV speakers) and picture clarity not consistent among channels/apps. Tried every “recommended” settings, bought Cat5 cable and upgraded Roku HDMI cord to no avail.

Value per dollar one of the best TVs you can buy!

I was upgrading from a 2009 LG 42" HD television, and the so the advancements in technology made this well worth the purchase. The screen brightness, contrast, and depth of color are the things that jump out the most about this compared to traditional LCD displays. Particularly on content that is formatted to take full advantage of the display. The first show we watched on this TV was Ahsoka on Disney+, and all I can say is: wow! The colors! The onboard speakers are nothing to write home about--they're your standard, small, tinny TV speakers. Fortunately, the TV supports eARC through HDMI3, so I was able to connect this to my AV Reciever and send out to some much better speakers. Samsung TVs use a proprietary OS, Tizen. The support for this from streaming services is decent, but you'll find that a TV running Android TV gives you more flexibility. Most of the major streaming services, hulu, Disney+, Netlix, Amazon Prime, MAX, and Peacock all have built in apps. There is no app for crunchyroll for Samsung, but it does have a built in web browser that allows you to access some of the outliers. It also comes pre-installed with Spotify; however, I have not found a way to add this to the home screen for easy access. The other issue with the apps is that not all streaming services support all TVs when it comes to formats like Dolby Digital Plus. MAX, for example does not support Samsung TVs for this, so it simply outputs a stero PCM signal, which my receiver up mixes to a surround sound experience. So, the built in app support is probably one of the biggest shortcomings of this TV, and it's more the fault of the streaming services/app developers than it is of the TV itself. Still it does hold it back a bit. You can, of course, add a dedicated streaming box, such as a Roku, Amazon Firestick, Apple TV, or Nvidia Shield. I really like the stand. It has a nice hefty weight to it, but it has a small footprint, which means it's possible to set this TV on a surface that doesn't quite have the span of the TV itself. For me, this, and the price, were the deciding factors between this and an equivalent Sony Bravia model. It, of course, also supports VESA mounting to the wall. Overall, this is a fantastic TV, and its few shortcomings can be overcome with additional hardware.

I needed a tv that would work in a very bright room. The house is a tall A-frame and has lots of windows facing south and in the sun all day. I am very impressed with the bright colors from the QN90B Neo Qled tv. All the colors also look great at night.

To avoid any regrets, I waded through the cacophony of technical jargons and mesmerizing analyses of the audi/video literati, always keeping an eye on a healthy balance of technology/ price relationship. In the end, I chose this Samsung model for its unassailable assemblage of currently available pallet of modern technologies in a more appealing size. Since bringing this set home, it has been the central piece of entertainment and enjoyment for my whole family. It is brimming with the latest nuggets of modern television engineering without imposing unnecessary distractions, and has added a new level of enjoyment to our home entertainment profile at a reasonably affordable price. Without question, it is one of my most cherished and considered purchases in recent years.

Colors and scenes are brilliantly displayed without the fake dynamic look caused by excessive color or forced brightness. Calibration in movie mode will produce a picture that is perfectly suitable for tv shows, movies, and sports. Separate calibration is available for gamers. Lots of bang for your buck!

GREAT UPGRADE

What a great upgrade. Installation and setup were seamless, and the new remote is compatible with my Xfinity cable box. The anti-glare screen and Q Symphony sound are noticeable improvements over my prior TV sound bar combo. My TV viewing environment is well lighted, so I went with the Neo QLED rather than an OLED TV. No regrets.

Very impressive, amazing picture

Our tv of 13 years needed replacing and I wasn't sure what to get. Originally I got a less expensive TV then returned it for this one and WOW what a difference. The anti-glare watch at any angle is really impressive, our room has lots of windows and there used to be so much glare when the sun was out on the old tv not with this one.

These get way brighter and have better dark details. This years have even better detail in dark areas while maintaining an extremley bright picture.
