The OLED picture is very clear. Setup was a breeze with all my apps. I am especially pleased with the glare factor. I could only sit in certain locations during the daytime with my old TV but this one with its reduced glare is excellent. Sound quality is good but much better with the sound bar.

Every aspect of this is a 10 out of 10 -- sound, picture, etc.
However, I chose the "simple" setup by photo of QR code and took 1 1/2 hours to work through all the systems to actually see the beautiful picture.
I cannot imagine how bad the "manual" system would be!
This set is smaller than my previous 55" LCD and I wish I would have gotten the 65".
The only advice is for their home page to not include 100 options I will never use such as Hulu, Netflix, Disney, etc.
A smart set should know I use Prime Video, my new Blu Ray, and not dozens of other inputs to scroll through.
I have Spectrum on slot 1 but have to scroll 10 icons to get to it.
Great value for someone who loves complexity!

Great tv with crisp graphics. Very responsive refresh rate to our streaming and PS5 usage. Best sound from a flat screen I have been around. Only con to this tv is Alexa and “helpful” suggestions it gives you. I know I can turn Alexa off but it is helpful 75% of the time, but it like to take weird side conversations and then interrupt movies or games. Great tv; buyer needs to fine tune the interactive features.

Excellent starter level OLED TV

Solid starter 4k OLED TV. Stand was easy to assemble and attached to the TV but it's probably best to have it wall mounted if possible. Picture quality was good out of the box and the configuring the settings was easy to do with the UI. I've primarily been using this TV to play games and haven't gotten into any issues with burn-in or a noticeable reduction in picture quality or brightness on the game mode setting.
Only downside is the sound isn't the best. It's fine but it feels muffled and, if you can, you'd be better with getting a sound bar to go with this TV

This is my first Samsung TV and I am very impressed. The picture is very beautiful/detailed. The sound is very good for a TV speaker (loud/clear). This is one of brightest OLED TV I have seen. The Tizen interface is smooth, fast and very responsive.

High quality picture! I was concerned about backlighting strength as TV is close to a window (not direct sunlight) however it has not been an issue. Picture quality remains sharp in daylight.
Sound quality is acceptable. I will add a soundbar to improve movie experience however for everyday use its as good as any TV I have owned in the past.
Intuitive app-store. All necessary apps available and many pre-installed which simplified the setup.

I love the Samsung OLED

I love our new Samsung OLED. The picture is sharp, the colors are vivid, and the sound is excellent. While the same could be said for many smart TVs, three factors tipped the balance to my choice: 1) our old TV was a Samsung and I like the brand; 2) the TV has a central pedestal rather than four feet so it would work with our current TV stand; and 3) the remote is very simple and doesn't have a hundred buttons as so many do.

Better than a Monitor for Console Gaming

I was able to pick up this TV open-box excellent and got lucky since the panel still had the tv film and was basically brand new. After 2 weeks of use, I can say that i’m very impressed with not only the quality of the colors but the responsiveness in game mode. I used a 27 inch monitor the past 7 years for gaming and this tv in game mode feels like it has even better input lag than my monitor. I see it as a 55 inch monitor that can also play movies and HDR 10+ on this thing is incredible. I’m happy to have a TV for dual purpose use and don’t think I can ever go back to a monitor. TV’s have advanced so far in terms of input lag and the S90D is a testament to that

Great TV but you've got to adjust the settings

My first impressions of the TV weren't good because I didn't like the default settings (based on Eco picture mode). But once I researched how to configure my TV for mixed viewing and I adjusted the settings, I became a fan. Most reviewers recommended Movie or Filmmaker mode and a few other tweaks. I use Movie mode during the day and Filmmaker mode at night. The skin tones are realistic (if you've got the settings right) and the blacks are deep black. Very nice.

Absolutely the nicest television We’ve ever owned. Beautiful, detailed picture. The colors reach out and surround you. The best money I’ve ever spent buying a television and I bought 5 year geek squad extended warranty. Looking forward to enjoying with my grandchildren for years to come.

Deal of a lifetime from Best Buy at 14% of its original MSRP.
As for the TV, the S90D certainly makes a strong impact with vivid, lifelike color and silky smooth 144Hz refresh. Uniformity is also a nice step up from my old WOLED.
I can't help but notice some detail loss though comparatively. My WOLED was razor sharp, you could see every imperfection (video). The sound (Cinema mode) was also slightly better in the WOLED, though this won't matter with an external sound system. The red cast also takes some time to get used to, but it's not a problem. Dial color down to 18 in PC mode when used with Native space. Or use Auto, but I thought this killed too much of the saturation.
I ultimately chose to keep this model, being bigger, newer, and having 144Hz and better uniformity. I also think this model is probably the best OLED value in 2025.

Its ok, just too dark of a picture in some scenes

Purchased the S90D in 55" to replace a 6 year old LG which went dark recently. Having had several Samsung tv's over the years, that are still working. The decision to go back to Samsung was made based on longevity. So, thoughts on the S90D. It has an ok to good picture. Frankly, the picture was better on the now "waiting to be fixed" LG. For me (wife included) the picture is too dark in some situations ie. movies with night scenes or films with a lot of shadows. Adjustments to brighten things up lead to picture blooming out too much. The picture is great when watching studio type programs. Now, to be fair, this tv is hours old so picture quality may improve over the next few days. OLED screens are marketed on how great the black color is represented. And yes, they are no doubt. The choice to go with a QLED screen may have been better? Something to consider when making your decision. After owning several Samsung tv's I found the setup to be easy and was guided quite well for the initial setup. Not that big of a change in the overall process of fine tuning the picture settings or other settings. The processor is faster than previous generations which is typical with most next generation tv's. As a heads up Best Buy only recycles tv's below 50" so don't bring it to BB expecting to get it recycled. Ya, I did that. So, it now sits at home again, and when I get around to it I will replace the faulty back lite board and go from there. I will update this review at some point in the future.

Brand response from Samsung

t05ks,
I’m sorry to hear you’re not fully satisfied with the S90D TV’s brightness level. If the image is too dim, please try disabling some of the TV's energy efficiency functions, as these will automatically adjust your picture and may cause your screen to appear brighter or darker than preferred. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Power and Energy Saving > turn off Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, and Motion Lighting
You may also want to try adjusting image settings to improve your picture. Go to Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode 1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments 2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments 3. Eco: Provided to save energy 4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room 5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
You can also customize the brightness level of your screen between 0 – 50 to your preference. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings
Please also make sure you’ve got the latest firmware version installed on your TV. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now
I hope these tips help. Should you need further assistance, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for: • LiveChat • Manuals, Software, & Warranty Info

Amazing Picture, Great Sound, and Easy to Use!
I recently purchased this TV and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The picture quality is outstanding — colors are vivid, blacks are deep, and the 4K resolution really makes a difference whether I’m watching movies, sports, or just streaming shows. The sound is surprisingly clear and powerful for a flat-screen TV, which saved me from needing a soundbar right away.
