Tv glitched to deatch in 5 months

I bought this Samsung tv to retire a VERY old Hisense smart tv i inherited from my little brother. This what i once thought was a beautiful tv 5 months ago will be a new bullet stopper in my range. TU690T Tv has very slow load times from out the box. Thanks to Tizen who lost their phone company stat but somehow made it into a top tech's tv lineup. Probably cheap for them. My wifi is high speed and is no excuse. Tv has stayed updated. And it wasn't being used aggresively. There hasn't been any power surges so it ain't my power either. It's the crappy Windows 98 software Samsung has allowed into their tvs. The tv would freeze if my wifi cuts out and i don't stop the video in time. It did it for it's last and final time on March 8th, 2024. Been trying to get it to work for 2 days now. Which i have given up hope. Closest thing i could get it to do was get to the input source. But soon as you use the remote it cuts off and maybe shows the Tizen logo before either shutting off or showing black screen with illumination with no response at all. Power light flashes. Power button on tv doesn't reset. $300+ out the window in 5 months, i presume its the motherboard fried. Just pulled my Hisense smart tv out of retirement and its still working. Only reason i updated was to get Hulu. It's quite sad a 8+ year old smart tv can last a newer one. Samsung is not built to last and with this tv, you are chancing your luck at 50/50. Don't buy a smart tv with Tizen as the Operating software. If you want a fast transition tv, spend a few more bucks for OLED like i'm planning on doing if i grow tiresome of my old Hisense again.

But it's only been a few days guess we will see as time passes.

Misrepresented 120hz

I bought on July 3rd because it clearly stated 120hz but after buying a new HDMI cable to support it, I quickly found out Best Buy made an error. Not happy.

Do not buy it

The layout is ridiculous. Tech saavy or not, the interface set up makes it to where i honestly dont watch it nearly as much bc of frustration

Damaged item and Homewood store blamed me!!!

The next morning we set up the tv and found a defect in the left corner. I go back to the store only to be told that i put pressure on the tv when i took it out the box and they refused to take it back. The manager and entire team was the most unprofessional, accusatory and flat out rude. I buy from best buy regularly for over 20 years and this ended my run. I had to go out of my way to return to item and be treated like i just paid hundreds of dollars for an item. Sorry best buy. Its been real but your employees need another customer service training. I found a great tv at another store. Im not even mad that i paid a little more because i was treated like a human at the competitor.

Unfortunately, even if a TV is double-boxed and the packaging shows no evidence of harm, a TV can still be damaged during transit if proper care is not taken. For example, if the TV were sitting in an incorrect orientation – laid on its side or tilted – during transit, damage could have been done.

Slow

Secondly, they put a barcode sticker right on the viewing screen. Took hours to carefully remove it. Called Samsung for assistance thinking maybe there was a film over the entire screen. Nope, they put an adhesive sticker on the screen.

Poor TV. Poor service.

I contacted BB store only to end up talking to a call center. I was offerred a “comparable TV” because of the size, price (purchased the tv on sale) and what they had available in the warehouse. Not comparable. And would have to wait a week and plan to schedule to be home to receive the tv and send back the broken one. My only other option, take the tv back to the store to exchange or for a refund Glad I purchased Geek Squad. Not even able to talk to them. Major inconvenience all around.

Very difficult set up.

Got damaged after 6 years and is junk

1) Please check the volume control of your TV, and then check the volume control of any external devices (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between any external device and the TV and then try the cable connection again.
2) Set the Sound Output to the TV Speaker by going to Settings > Sound > Sound Output.
3) Check whether Digital Output Audio Format is set to Pass-Through by going to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Format > Auto.
