    When it comes to TVs I have been a Samsung loyal customer. Whether you are looking for top quality high priced TVs or an affordable good TV they have it all. My only complaint with this TV is I couldn't figure out (still can't) how to get YOUTUBE TV on the main screen

    The TV itself is fine - nice picture, good sound. However, aside from being expected to agree to a privacy policy no one will read on-screen (and no easy way to get it emailed to you, scan with your phone, etc.), if you'd like to watch actual, regular television, you might have some issues. My unit refuses to find over-the-air channels. I've run the channel scan, reset the TV, replaced my antenna (at Samsung's suggestion), done all that over again 5 or 6 more times, and talked to Samsung a dozen times, and nothing has worked. Samsung finally sent a third-party repairman to look at it, and they essentially shrugged. In the midst of this, when I tried to call Best Buy to see if I could exchange the unit, I was told that my return/exchange period ended the day before I called -- because their return window is 14 days. Which is not clear anywhere on any of the receipts or confirmation emails. The 2-year Geek Squad plan I bought with the TV is ALSO useless in this situation, it seems. So if you have cable, only watch stuff online, stream from your laptop/phone, and/or connect devices by physical cables, you're probably fine, and the TV is a nice one. But if you want it for the basic function a television is supposed to perform, you might be on your own.

    It has great picture quality for my first 4k tv. However, I have had some image stutter issues as well as som weird network connection issues that I have not been able to isolate to the TV yet (didn't have an issue with the previous TV in the same setup)

      Hi CaseyS,

      Thank you for your feedback. Please ensure your U7900 TV is running the latest firmware update 1132.0. To do so, go to Settings> Support> Software Update. If that version is not available you can download the update on a USB drive and manually update your TV:

      1. On Samsung's website (upper right corner), go to: Support > Manual & Software > Find your TV model, and click on the Firmware – Upgrade File.
      2. When the file has finished downloading, locate it and then unzip it. There is normally one folder inside but there may be multiple files.
      3. Copy or move all of the files that were included in the zip file to a USB flash drive, but do not place them inside any other folders. If you place the software folders inside a folder on the USB flash drive, the TV or monitor will not find them.
      4. Connect the USB drive containing the software upgrade into a USB port on your device.
      5. Using your device's remote, navigate to and select Settings, then select All Settings, and then select Support. Select Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes if prompted.

      Your device will search the USB drive for update files. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, it will restart automatically.

    I love the TV, but the remote is a total thumbs down. It always qoes to Samsung plus screen when turned on. And in order to change channels it takes multiple steps because if you arriw or down it jumps back to the Samsung Plus channels. The ilder remotes were more user friendly and easier to get to the different options. I would recommend this TV but not the remote that comes with it. Two thumbs down on the remote only.
