Customers are saying

Customers highly value the 58" Class TV for its exceptional picture quality, easy setup process, and reasonable price point. Many customers rave about the stunning visuals and user-friendly interface, while appreciating the great value they receive for their money. Although some users have expressed concerns about the basic nature of the remote control and occasional motion blur during fast-paced scenes, these drawbacks seem minor compared to the overall positive customer sentiment.

I picked this item up last night as an "open box" along with the Samsung sound bar and an LG Blu Ray player. First thing... I'd like to say thank you to the professional clerk at Best Buy who did an amazing (and patient) job with me going over every question I had. Great customer service! The open box TV was perfect. It was still in the manufacturers packaging and had all of the protective tape and bags still attached/sealed. Even the remote and batteries were still sealed. I was able to remove everything and setup the complete system by myself. The instructions were super easy to follow and the steps are very simple to accomplish. Four screws for the two legs and two caps to cover them. Easy! The menu took me about 10 minutes to master. There are a few setting to go through, but nothing you shouldn't be able to figure out if you can use your smart phone. Again, simple layout and straightforward design. Only thing I can really say that is negative is the remote control is very light weight and seems very cheap compared to the TV itself. But its not an issue for me as it works well and controls my sound bar. I watched a new DVD that my kiddos got me for Christmas and adjusted the settings as I went. Picture looks fine to me. It's not going to be in the same category as the high end TV's but that is not what this TV is. I didn't notice any judder and everything was smooth. I did change the default picture to Standard or Dynamic instead of the default and that helped the picture a lot. The sound from the TV itself is a bit "tinny" but is loud enough and clear enough that I didn't need the sound bar to hear everything in the movie. And I am military with bad hearing. I absolutely do recommend the sound bar though. Amazing difference once I hooked that up! Overall, for the price this TV seems to be an amazing deal.

    Excellent TV for the Price!

Purchased this TV about two weeks ago and have had a goo deal of time messing around with the features. It is this years model, Best Buy just stocked it the day I purchased it. The TV looks great aesthetics wise, black all around, about average thickness for this size, and decent build quality. Set up was simple although it does not come with the Samsung Smart Remote which is listed in the online manual. Samsung's website even had the remote listed on this models page but it has since been removed. I called them and they are sending me one to replace the old remote. Picture quality is great. Stepping up from a 1080p and you can really see the difference. Colors are good (has HDR) and the blacks are deep as well. Biggest surprise has been with up-scaling, it really does a nice job up-scaling non-HD video to high quality. Sound is about average, nothing special but with the thickness the TV is I would not expect much better. Do yourself a favor and get a soundbar for movies.

    Love this TV

I purchased an LG 55inch 6300 series tv to replace a 7 year old LG model that I loved. I wasn’t happy with the new LG so I returned it ( first experience with a Best Buy return, they were great) and swapped for this Samsung. This tv was much sharper and clearer on every avenue (cable box, BluRay and 4K Netflix) than the LG. My only wish for the tv is that the remote is very basic, no backlighting etc... Add to the great looking picture that Best Buy ran a sale on this TV and I’m convinced for the money you’d be hard to find a better performing set.

Replaced a 720 plasma and the quality is excellent. Was sort of surprised at the low price, but took a chance and so far so good. Had to contact Samsung about the wrong remote that came with it. They were nice and are going to send me the one that is advertised online. Still keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks Michelle. Looking forward to someone posting the best calibrations for best picture quailty.

Great TV when bought, but now it’s starting to fail, picture is dark and volume no longer works. Samsung brand is great as my other 55” Samsung TV that I bought in 2012 is still working great but it seams like the newer models when manufactured are made with cheap components and most likely had a lot of corners cut so they can make more profit.

This is my 5th Samsung TV. I am very picky on what I'm looking for. This TV does come with HDR. BestBuy.com says it doesn't. I have tested it out on my Xbox One S and PS4 Pro, both consoles confirmed and enabled HDR on the TV. I don't really watch cable TV but I do a lot of gaming on it. I don't see any problems with it. Very simple setup and all good to go.

Very impressed with this TV! Size and price are perfect...the picture is gorgeous. I upgraded from a 47 inch LG and this blows it away. The only thing that bothers me some is the price went down right after I purchased this product.

I bought this TV yesterday and for $700, you can't beat it. The one glich I had was annoying. Out of the box, the source button would not work and the color was mediocre at best. I did a software update since the software was many revs old and that took care of everything. Now the color and picture quality is amazing and all functions including the source button work fine. The picture quality blows away my Samsung 1080p 50" and my Sony 55" 1080p sets. Be aware, before you try to use the TV, do the upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Great TV/ Wrong Remote

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The picture on this television is excellent, love it. However, based upon my experience and many other reviews, a large number of these TVs seem to have been packed with the incorrect remote. Rather than a smart remote, it came with a basic remote. Without the smart remote I was unable to use any of the Smart TV functions or change the input at all. Had to wait a week for Samsung to ship me the right remote, and Best Buy would not offer any support or consolation.

Unable to connect to the Samsung Sever. Please try

Get used to the above name, if you already have a samsung account, it's going to be there for awhile. I didn't originally purchase this tv for it's smart features, every device I have replaces that need, but nobody seems to sell "non smart" TVs any longer. In any case, I originally looked at the LG's and when I went to Bestbuy to pick it out, it was out of stock, so I opted for this one instead. The picture is great, sound is fine and ease of setting up was fine. It connects to the internet quickly and easily. However, if you attempt to download a new app (such as You Tube Kids), you're required to sign into the Samsung Server, which fails if you already have an account (apparently this is the issue). If you wish to have mutliple samsung accounts or have never set one up, then it apparently works fine. However, I don't plan on having an account for each device I have with the same company. Barring the "smart tv" functions, this would have been a 5 star review. I checked the samsung store online and the specs I saw mentioned it did come with the older remote, so I'm not sure where others have gotten information that the new one is included? Overall this 5 star review has to go 3 stars until all functionality works as advertised.

Had a Samsung KU6270 55in till my son threw one of his cars into it and cracked the screen. I loved that TV. Got this on the cheap for $424 as an open box item. Didn't have a box or even a remote! No problem tho as my 6270 remote works flawlessly, as the store told me. I've spent 2 weeks with this TV. At first I was frustrated and couldn't get the picture right, and almost took it back twice. However, after finding the rting.com settings for it, and tweaking it for my room. I can say I'm falling in love with it. There's a lot of in-depth setup needed with this TV. This thing is not for the weak of heart. With any amount of lights on in the room the TV was great, but with them off the edges washed out terribly, but it can be dealt with. That can turn some off tho, and I'm guessing that may be why it was returned. After tweaking tho, this thing is beautiful for my uses and no more washout! Movies, sports, shows, SD, HD, 4k, HDR, all of it looks great! No more washout! Oh wait I already said that! ;-) It's not quite as crisp as my KU6270, and not as deep and rich color either and that's why I have 4 stars, but it still looks great. I was just gonna get another 55in and now I got a 58in. Can't believe what a difference just 3in makes! Couldn't be happier!

    Average TV, horrible REMOTE

    Posted .

Purchased the 40" Smart 4K Samsung first for the bedroom and it worked just fine, the smart remote was very easy to use and the interface was very user friendly. I then decided to purchase the 58" for my sons playroom, and what a bad idea! interface is similar however there were a few lags, and a few weird glitches. I had no issues with the 40", mainly because we rarely use the TV, who knows what the future holds. The remote was not working upon initial set up, I could not hit the home button to view the apps. It was also very outdated, tons of buttons that will get no use. I saw the reviews about the remote and some said they were able to get an updated remote, but when I called samsung, they said that this is the remote it comes with and they had to send some sort of refresher signal in order for the remote to have the smart home feature to work, which was not working upon initial set up. Because this TV does not have bluetooth, a smart remote will not work on this model, (this is what I was told by the samsung rep), really wish I had known this before purchasing. Not to mention, the particular rep I had was extremely rude, I hate when call center customer service reps lack customer service skill. It sucks, because I'm pretty much stuck with this TV now and do not want to go through the hassle of returning and losing more money. I advise anyone looking to purchase this TV to look at other options. My main tv is a Sony Bravia and I wish I had just stuck with Sony, I bought the samsung because they were on sale and tried saving a few bucks, but now I know it was definitely not worth it. Beware of this purchase.

Upgraded from my Samsung 51" for the Super Bowl. VERY VERY happy - SO much more viewing area in a 58"! At the sale price especially, I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase! Almost bought model #6070 but this has x3 HDMI vice 2. I use a sound bar (Yamaha) so nothing to add about the comments on poor sound.

I've had this tv for about a month now. It was a deal of the day for $649 and I couldn't pass it up. First thing I did after initial setup was update the firmware. Then under general I went to Eco Solution and turned everything off, then at the to External Device Manager I went to hdmi uhd color and turned on the hdmi ports I had hooked up to 4k devices. Next went to picture and under picture mode I selected movie. In the Expert settings section I turned everything off except for color space setting( kept it at auto). Backlight I set at 8 for regular content and 14 for 4k. Apply picture settings I set to current source and the color tone I used warm1. The gamma i set to 1. Worked for me.

    Poor quality and repairability

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The coax jack in the rear of the TV broke off after 5 mos of use and Samsung's service partner wanted $600 to replace the entire circuit board ($300), labor ($200) and a core disposal charge for the existing circuit board ($100). That's all to fix a $1 part that broke off on a $650 TV. The video performance during dimly lit shows (Game of Thrones for example) is abysmal. The images on the screen are uneven causing the faces of the characters to appear to undulate. Pausing then playing Roku apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu cause the video and audio to be out of sync and require backing out of the show and restarting. I've never had that occur on any other television, including ones from less reputable brands. The menu stutters and lags occasionally. While the overall performance of the television is poor, this is a lower end Samsung UHD model so that's to be expected to some degree. What was not expected was dubious craftmanship and the inability to have a minor repair made for less than the cost of the TV brand new. I'm disappointed in this HDTV and disappointed in Samsung. I would recommend you stay away from this model.

This 4k TV is great and the price is hard to beat. I purchased this, brought it home and set it up. I found it had a weird glitch where after about 30 minutes of it being on, it would reboot completely and require me to redo all the internet connection settings. I brought it back to Bestbuy and explained the problem. They exchanged it without any problems and told me about 2% of the tvs manufactured today have some sort of defect. The new one works as it should without any issues.
