Waste of Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst TV I have ever owned and was also a lot more expensive than it is now when I purchased it. I have Xfinity and I used the Beta Stream app on this tv. I would have to uninstall it and reinstall it all the time. This could have been problems with the Beta app. However, at around the one year mark, I would get the black screen of death. I would do all of the trouble shooting steps and after two or three days, the screen would reappear. This happened all the time. It has now been over two years and no amount of troubleshooting gets the screen to come back on. I'm ready to buy a new TV and it won't be a Samsung.

Posted .Hi kelly,
Thank you for reviewing the Samsung TU7000 TV. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the TV screen no longer turning on. In case you have not tried these troubleshooting steps, I will put them below for you to try.
If your TV has a black screen even when it's on, it's quite possible it could actually be your external device and not your TV.
1. Press the Home button on the remote.
If the menu appears, the TV is powered on but is either not on the correct source or not receiving a signal.
If the menu does not appear, the TV may be having power issues.
Check the red standby light, a little red light at the edge of the TV that you aim the remote at. In normal use, the red standby light is on when the TV is off (indicating the TV is on standby), and the red standby light is off when the TV is in use (or doesn't have power).
2. Confirm the TV is set to the same source as the external device.
For instance, if your cable box is connected to HDMI 1, set the TV source to HDMI 1.
If the TV is set to the correct source but there is still no image, unplug and reconnect the AV connections one cable at a time from both ends of each cable. If there's any damage to the cable, it will need to be replaced.
After reconnecting the external device, could you turn it off and back on?
3. Test the HDMI cable.
Some TVs have an HDMI cable test. Some models only have this test after a software update, and older models do not have it. If your model does not have this test or is not connected by HDMI, skip to the next step.
The test is designed for HDMI cords less than 6 feet long and may not give accurate results on longer cords.
To perform the test, make sure the TV's source is still on the HDMI setting for the cable you want to test, and then navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test.
If the test says, the cable is bad, replace the cable. Service is not required.
4. Test different external devices.
The final thing to rule out is the external device you're using. Try connecting a different device or using a different source port.
If the TV can display a picture in any other setup, then you've ruled the TV out as the cause of the issue. Keep trying various setups until you identify the device or cable that is not working and troubleshoot or replace it.
If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Mine was a Lemon
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased TV in May 2020. By January the TV would freeze upon startup- screen would freeze and say Samsung- Powered by Tiezen. Cycle on and off and eventually would startup. By March the TV would not startup at all- black screen. Attempted warranty repair with Samsung twice and both times the technician failed to arrive for the repair. Lost more in wages than TV is worth at this point- cheaper option is to go and purchase an LG. Most frustrating was the total lack of customer support by Samsung- they failed to stand behind this product hence the shift to LG.

Disappointed in the Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent picture although blacks don’t show up great on 4k format. The biggest issue is my TV is completely worthless having owned it for just under two years. Something happened where the power supply broke. I called Samsung and they would do nothing for me since it was out of their one year warranty. I would expect a name brand TV to last MUCH longer than two years. Aggravating that Samsung won’t stand behind their product.

Would not buy, if you do, save the box.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV on 09-26-20. Worked all the way up to 10-11-20; that's exactly 16 days after I bought it. This product lasted a whopping 16 days before the screen just went black. I could hear the TV, just could not see anything. Took it back and Best Buy did give me money back for the TV, but I had to pay $80 for the hardware, and stand. Had I known Samsung makes stuff that only last a few weeks I would have kept the packaging, and hardware. Maybe they should put a note on the box.... Just a suggestion Samsung, and Best Buy.

If you've switched on your TV and the sound comes through fine, but you're not seeing any picture; there are 3 potential issues.
1) A connection issue; the most common problem. Where there is a bad connection, faulty cables or improper installation.
2) An issue with the device connected to the TV. There may be a video output setting on the device that you must set properly before it will output to the TV.
3) There is something wrong with the TV, which will require a technician to assess the TV and find a solution.
Please refer to pages 135 – 140 step-by-step troubleshooting instructions.

Constant connection issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty disappointed, especially after having great luck with Samsung TVs in the past. In the beginning it was great, other than the unintuitive guide screen. But after a few months I started having issues. The sound will occasionally go out, and it often fails to recognize some of the connected sources (plug-in, not WiFi). The only fix has been to turn the TV on & off for 10-15 minutes until it miraculously fixes itself.

Choose Anything Else!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV is a headache. Have to reset it every time you turn it on. Picture went out completely. Wife hates it. Not a very “smart” TV at all. Wish they would replace it or let me chose another brand. Ours is a lemon. Not happy.
